555 Timer Astable 1Hz Clock Generator

12/19/2010

This circuit is used to drive digital circuits such as J/K Flip Flops, Counters, or anything that needs a clock signal input. The frequency of 1Hz allows the user to easily see the logical decisions being made per second by a digital circuit T = Time period in seconds (s) ƒ = Frequency in Hertz (Hz) R1 = Resistance in Ohms (Ω) R2 = Resistance in Ohms (Ω) C1 = Capacitance in Farads (F) T = 0.7 × (R1 + 2R2) × C1 ƒ = 1.4 / (R1 + 2R2) × C1
