Duration : Feb ’09 to Jan ‘10.

Project Description:

Aon corp is the leading global re insurance company, providing its client with a full
range of services in the design structure, and implementation of their risk transfer
programs. They have some legacy system’s data in LDW (local datawarehouse), that data
need to migrate to new staging area having multiple target tables for SAP reporting purpose.

This complete migration process is in two phases for treaty data and facultative data
respectively. The biggest challenge in this project understands the business and frequent
changes in target systems for every cycle.

Contribution:

• Understanding the business specification documents.

• Understanding the business functionality & Analysis of business requirements.

• Preparing the technical specification docs need for easy analysis of the project.

• Involved in development of jobs by using various stages available in DataStage tool.

• Used DataStage sequencer jobs extensively to control DataStage jobs.

• Used DataStage Manager for exporting & importing metadata definitions, creating
the
Metadata definitions and view and edit the contents of the repository,

• Involved in peer review of jobs and test cases,

• Implemented Local containers for same job and Shared Containers for multiple
jobs.

Description:

Volkswagen Company is an Icon of the Automobile industry. This is a Data migrating

Project. Data is extracted from Customer Information Database, Products Database, Plan
Database, Services Database, and flat files, is cleansed, transformed and loaded into the
target tables. There are three major components involved in the ETL Process in building the
Target tables.

1) Load the Data from the Interface files to the Staging.

2) Load the Data from Staging to the Intermediate.
3) Load data from the Intermediate to the Target.

Contribution:

• Created various Documents such as Source-To-Target Data mappings.

• Datastage jobs created to extract, transform and load data from various sources
like relational databases, flat files, etc into the target tables.

• Extracted data from sequential file and loaded into staging area.

• Worked extensively on different types of stages like Sequential file, Transformer,

Aggregator, Join , Merge, Sort etc…

Hitachi Construction Machinery co., Ltd is a Japan based Company. Its consolidated
subsidiaries use exclusive experience and advanced technology capabilities to develop and
manufacture a wide range of leading-edge construction machinery.

This project is an enterprise Datawarehouse. It contains various dimensions tables

and four fact tables, Data extracted from order detail database data cleansed and loaded
into staging area, and then transformed data loaded into Datawarehouse.

Contribution:

• Datastage jobs created to extract, transform and load data from various sources like
relational databases, flat files, etc into the target tables.

• Worked extensively on different types of stages like Sequential file, Transformer,

Aggregator, Lookup, Join , Merge, Sort etc…

• Used Datastage Designer for developing various jobs to extract, cleansing,

transforming, and loading data into Data warehouse.
