I. Critical Questions:
Reflect and write your answers on the following questions:

1. Search and examine the Bill of Rights in Article III of the 1987 Philippine Constitution. Can you say
that all teachers are enjoying their rights? Why?
In my opinion, teachers are enjoying their right as a citizen but there is no assurance that
everyone of them experiences the same because some are in an unfortunate conditions where there
are factors that are hindering them to enjoy their rights.
2. Television news report on some teachers joining anti-government demonstration/rallies? What is
your opinion on this issue?
In my opinion, there is nothing wrong about teachers joining and participating in anti-
government rallies. Some teachers are joining in rallies because they don't like what does the
government treat them. Sometimes they want to be heard by the government about their concerns
like salary increase. Since teaching is a noble profession, they mold young ones to become someone
they wanted to be. They mold people to become professionals thus, they really need high salary.

3. How do we encourage teachers to become human rights advocates in their communities too?
We can encourage teachers through showing them that how the human rights is important
to our today's society and different platforms. We can use vlogging and websites to encourage them.

4. Considering the ups and downs of many teachers today, can you still consider teaching as a noble
profession? Explain to support your opinion?
We all know that nobody’s perfect thus, I still consider that teaching is a noble profession.
Teachers take the responsibility of nourishing peoples' minds with knowledge. They do a great job,
which helps building and developing communities. They are selfless, always ready to go to any extent
to help their students. Without them, there would be no doctors, engineers and many other
professionals. Therefore, we must respect and honor the teachers for they have done great jobs and
contributions in our country.

5. In your opinion, how can a teacher’s professional life be improved?

A professional teacher is always learning and growing. They are on an endless journey where
they are always looking for new ideas or teaching strategies, ways to improve their skills, or new
information that will help their students to succeed. As a professional educator, it’s essential that you
take the time to promote your skills and knowledge.

6. Research and cite an outstanding professional teacher and describe her qualities and contribution
to society.
Salima Begum she educates students aside from the curricular. She allows her students to
learn something new by letting them share their ideas and opinions. She has helped create
awareness amongst parents regarding girls’ education and its benef its. To engage her
students, Salima believes that classroom activities should correspond closely to real -life
situations. Salima has made a major contribution to teacher training, instructing more than
7,000 teachers across her province, and 8,000 more throughout Pakistan. If she were to win
the prize, she says she would donate the money to a fund to support girls’ education in
Pakistan.
