If one studies the works of Feodor Dostoevsky a singular theme emerges from his books: how can
mankind live in a world without God, a spiritual void? He felt that man could not stay human without
God.
Nietzsche took a more pessimistic view: he felt that God was already dead and the time had come to
find a way to live in the void. Marxists already have a functioning system for life in the void,
communism. As I go back and reread Dostoevsky's works I am stunned by his foresight. In “Brothers
Karamazov” he captures the Marxist concept of the ends justifying the means powerfully.
“Imagine that you are creating a fabric of human destiny with the object of making men happy in the
end, giving them peace and rest at last, but that it was essential and inevitable to torture to death only
one tiny creaturethat baby beating its breast with its fist, for instanceand to found that edifice on its
unavenged tears, would you consent to be the architect of these conditions? Tell me, and tell the truth?”
Here we find the essence of the void. After the Russian civil war Leon Trotsky was asked, “Look, you
have destroyed Russia totally, the country has been reduced to ashes, how can you rationalize such a
horror?” Trotsky replied, “what does it matter, we achieved power.”
When I came to Russia I quickly noticed that as an American my status was high. I then noticed that
any person from any country which had been taken over by Marxists had a low status. It is not racial,
Cubans had low status and a south Korean had high status while a north Korean had low status. I am a
Saxon but so are people from the Baltics and they also had low status. It was explained to me by a
Russian friend: he said; “you as an American still live under the irrefutable law of God. Until 1917 all
people in all of history lived in natural organic, traditional societies whose laws and values were based
on some notion of God. Marxist society is atheistic, since atheists do not accept the existence of God
then it is impossible for a human to have a soul. Once you are legally soulless you have become
biological material.” I was confused. He explained; “isn't it suspicious that the United Nations does
not prosecute the gigantic crimes of communism? They do not prosecute because in their world view
destroying human biological material to achieve the goals of the party is no more of a crime than
selling off livestock to the slaughter house.” Would Russians like to return to an Old Believer Orthodox
theocracy tomorrow morning? Yes. Does any Russian think that is possible? No.
We have found ourselves in a Mexican stand off with no bullets in our gun. Either we load up with
some new spiritual ammunition or find ourselves as UN statistics.
