READING Activity 1:Ordinary Pool. Chn read the poem. What are the issue in the Poem? What ia stanza. What is a poetic narrative? What is the poem about? What is the orientation, complication, resolution Activity 2: Androcles and the Lion. Chn read the fable and then answer the here hidden and head questions. Activity 3: Suffixes. Chn read the worksheet add a suffix to the word so that the story makes sense. Teacher stresses the changing of spelling. Activity 4: GR1.Word study collective Similes’. Children complete the white board activity. Chn read the similes’ poem . Chn fill in the poem with a simile . GR2Chn read the similies worksheet and make into a book. WRITING Writing Focus:
Report writing: Chn read different reports about animals. Discuss the structure of a report. What elements does it have? Title, classification, description, conclusion . Activity1 Spelling. Using the topic words chn complete an activity using only 5 words form the topic list. Activity 2: Handwriting Chn continue on with book Modern Cursive Pg 38,39,40 Activity 3: Animal report writing. Using the information used chn write their own animal report. Make sure the include elements of report writing. Title, classification a general description or classifying statement about what is being reported. Description, this report gives a detailed accurate account of what the animal looks like, where it can be found, what it can do and other interesting facts. Activity 4. SAR entry. Consequences and sequel. After looking at the Picture of Melbourne, chn write about the consequences of what will happen and then the sequel.

Using the words that chn stated a re important in problem solving e.g. all together, how many, how many were left, share, shared equally, how many Chn are divided into four groups, each group is given a process to concentrate on. E.g. addition. Each person in the group is to give a worded problem which uses the process of addition. The same is done for subtraction, division, multiplication. Chn then complete two worded problems form each process.

Read articles on recent disasters that have effected Australian environments. What natural disasters effect the Australian environments? Complete a simple report on the natural disasters.

Chn complete a carousel activity. Which natural disasters have affected the Australian environment? How do you know. Chn write what they know about these disasters. Fire, flood, drought.

Chn then use websites on the computer find about about the most recent natural disaster that is occurring in Australia now.
