Students are required to participate in a debate as a team. The topics are listed below and will be assigned to your teams by your trainer/assessor. Your debating arguments need to be based on personal understanding of the concepts as well as research and be supported by reference to the literature demonstrating wider reading. TOPICS FOR DEBATE:  CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT ORIENTATION CAN YIELD BETTER RESULTS FOR ORGANISATIONS AND EMPOYEES THAN EFFICIENCY ORIENTATION  LEADERS ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS THEIR TEAMS  CRISIS MANAGEMENT IS A RESULT OF POOR PLANNING  CULTURE NOT LEADERSHIP LEADS TO OPERATIONAL SUCCESS Individual competency will be given based on performance in the final debate at the end of the unit as well as level of preparation for the debate. Evidence of preparation for the final debate, such as working notes, annotated photocopies of reference material, drafts of debate speech, and so forth, is to be submitted after the final debate, secured in a folder labelled with student number and name.

Each debating student will be evaluated separately for debate with written feedback provided. Note: if there are more than three people in a team then 2 minutes will be allowed for each debater. there will be a team for the affirmative.Project 1 Due: End of the unit You are required to submit an operational plan for your current organisation or a simulated work environment. The main areas you need to cover in your plan are:  Develop operational plan  Plan and manage resource acquisition  Monitor and review operational performance In preparing this operational plan. and a third team will adjudicate.
