Dr Zakir Naik:

"....So the Malikis, when they offer Salaah, they put their hands at the side. B
ut when we read in the Hadith of Abu Dawood, Volume No.1, Hadith No.755 & 757 sa
ys that you should tie your hands below the navel but it's a Zaeef (Weak) Hadith
- both these Hadiths are Zaeef (Weak) according to Imam Abu Dawood. Abu Dawood,
Volume No.1, Hadith No.756 says that keep the hands above the navel which is mo
re stronger than the Zaeef Hadith but the next Hadith - Abu Dawood, Volume No.1,
Hadith No.758 - it says that when, keep your hands, during Salaah, on your ches
t and it says, this is a stronger Hadith though this is a Mursal Hadith. Mursal
means there is a link missing in between. But in the commentary, it says - it is
the strongest than the other Hadiths. Even if you read the Hadith of Saheeh Ibn
Khuzaimah - it says that the Prophet (May peace be upon him) kept his hands on
his chest when he offered Salaah - even that is a Mursal Hadith but along with o
ther Hadith Shaikh Nasiruddin Albani has classified it as Saheeh (sound or stron
g). So it is the strongest of all the Hadiths where to keep your hands. The stro
ngest is - keep on the chest. So when I offer my Salaah, I keep my hands on my c
hest. Therefore I say, I am a pukka Maliki. Imam Malik said - if you find any of
my fatwa which goes against Allah and His Rasool (May peace be upon him), you r
eject my fatwa. So if the Maliki says that Imam Malik said, keep your hands on t
he chest - the story is different - but assuming he said that - but he said if y
ou find my fatwa which goes against Allah and His Rasool (May peace be upon him)
, reject my fatwa. So I rejected his fatwa and I keep my hands on the chest. The
"refore I am a pukka Maliki, 100%...

MY COMMENTS:
As-Salaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh! i.e. May Peace, Mercy and th
e Blessings of Allah (God) be on all of you!
First of all, you watch and listen the video.
There are some Hadith Books labelled as 'SAHEEH' such as Saheeh Bukhari, Saheeh
Muslim, Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah, Saheeh Ibn Habban, etc.
Amongst these, Saheeh Bukhari and Saheeh Muslim contain all the Hadiths narrated
with a Saheeh (sound) chain of narrators and hence, called as 'SAHEEH'. But man
y people have a misconception that like Saheeh Bukhari and Saheeh Muslim, Saheeh
Ibn Khuzaimah and Saheeh Ibn Habban too contain all the Hadiths classified as S
aheeh but that is NOT the case. Surely you will ask for PROOF which is a GOOD ha
bit, al-Hamdu lil-laah!
Dr Zakir Naik himself agreed that all the Hadiths in Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah are NO
T Saheeh since he made this statement in this video, "...Even if you read the Ha
dith of Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah - it says that the Prophet (May peace be upon him)
kept his hands on his chest when he offered Salaah - EVEN THAT IS A MURSAL HADIT
H..."
Those who think that all the Hadiths in Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah are classified as S
aheeh THEN HOW YOU FIND THIS MURSAL HADITH IN IT? A Mursal Hadith is NOT as stro
ng as a Saheeh Hadith. It means that Dr Zakir Naik too knows that all the Hadith
s in Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah are NOT Saheeh. Regarding Saheeh Ibn Habban, you can g
et the proof if you do a little UNBIASED research.... I don't have the proof now
. I just heard it from a scholar. But that CANNOT be the ultimate proof unless o
ne has verified it himself.
Regarding Shaikh Nasiruddin Albani, was he a Muhaddith? How can we trust Albani'
s classifications of Hadiths unless we critically analyze it.
A Hadith has got 3-5 narrators in its chain. We need to know whether all of thes
e narrators are reliable or not? And to know the reliability of any narrator, we
need the
i.e. to study
booksthe
of 'the
booksNames

of theur-Rijaal'
People' which have been written by the Muha
.ddithiin
There wei.efind
those

the narrator
Hadiths and

preservedorthem
not? For a Hadith t
o be Saheeh, its chain of narrators should contain only reliable narrators. Have
we ever checked whether S. N. Albani has classified the Hadiths correctly or no
t?
Even the Imams i.e. the Muhaddithiin differ as to a Hadith's classification beca
use the criteria for classifying a Hadith DIFFERS from one Muhaddith to another.
For more details regarding the classification of Hadiths, refer to the book 'AL-
MUQADDAMAH' by Imam Ibn as-Salaah. I am NOT AT ALL an expert in this field. So y
ou may question me about this, for which you may NOT get any reply or enough pro
of. I am NOT criticizing anyone. If I commit a mistake, you all, BEING MY BROTHE
RS AND SISTERS, can correct me.
I would like to tell you that I, too, just like others, am a fan of Dr Zakir Nai
k.
PLEASE, PLEASE, pray to ALLAH for me, my parents, my family and all the Muslims
and the Believers.
As-Salaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh!
