The Northland Community Council

The Northland Community Council is a coalition of 25 civic associations, homeown-

ers associations and other community groups in the Northland area of Columbus,
Ohio.
NCC’s purpose as recorded in its 1964 Articles of Incorporation is “to promote and
foster the development of the northeastern part of the city of Columbus; to promote
and foster goodwill and mutual understanding among the residents of the area; and to
engage in such activities as shall raise the standards of civic responsibility and com-
munity welfare within the area; [and] to coordinate the efforts and activities of civic
associations and other organizations within the area.”
NCC advocates for the Northland area with city, state and other
agencies on issues such as economic development, infrastructure,
education and schools, traffic planning and roadway improve-
ments, code enforcement, crime and police staffing. NCC is ac-
tive in many community projects and issues, including neighbor-
hood block watches and beautification and community cleanup
projects, and works with other area organizations such as the
Northland Area Business Association and the Northland Alliance
(which are NCC members). For many years, NCC has produced
the annual Northland Community Fourth of July Parade.
The NCC Development Committee holds public hearings to review development and
zoning matters within its approximately 25 square mile service area and makes formal
recommendations to the City, similar to
area commissions in other parts of Co-
lumbus. All NCC member organiza-
tions have the right to participate in the
Development Committee, which meets
separately on the last Wednesday of
each month.
The full Council meets on the first
Tuesday of each month at Friendship
Village of Columbus, 5800 Forest Hills
Boulevard (43231) at 7:00 pm. For
more information, contact NCC presi-
dent Dave Paul at (614) 325-8217 or
dwpaul@fpcivic.org.
The Council’s mailing address is P.O. Box 297836, Columbus, OH 43229.
