ORACLE CORPORATION - Nashua, NH 1995-2009
Senior Technical Consultant (Hired by FormMaker Software, Inc., which later mer
ged as Docucorp International, Inc., then Skywire Software, LLC, and then bought
by Oracle Corporation in 2008.)
Supported, as the primary consultant, the back end print processing of workers'
compensation insurance policies for a client who is a leading U.S. based interna
tional insurance organization. This involved document/form imaging, data mappin
g, document/policy automation, and automating batch main frame jobs to process d
ata files, print the policies, and archive the policy print in a DB2 database.
* Provided backup support for the document automation of other insurance lines
of business. Required supporting development in MVS, Microsoft Windows, and UNI
X environments.
* Provided rotating 24/7 support for batch jobs as a member of a four person te
am. The client processed 20,000 to 30,000 policy print transactions per night.
* Designed macro tools for a manual reprint process reducing the time for a rep
rint request of a large archived policy (1,000+ pages) from several days to less
than 3 hours.
* Designed transaction extraction tool that pulled data lines for one or more t
ransactions from a data file that was too large for editing. Provided a more ma
nageable file for debugging purposes and manual processing if the automatic batc
h job failed while processing the large file, saving CPU processing time and red
ucing resolution time from several days to less than 4 hours.
* Created customized functionality through C/C++ code and DAL scripts when the
product's base functionality failed to meet the client's needs. Some of the cod
e functions were later incorporated into the marketed base product.
