A Lakewood mom, wife, and concerned citizen, Marisa Perez has over 14 years of experience as a public policy advisor, working on behalf of taxpayers in areas that impact our daily lives - transportation, health care, education, and air quality. In 2001, while working for the White House, Marisa monitored the deployment of more than 9,000 National Guard personnel in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She also created a presidential task force to improve health care for veterans and military retirees. Marisa has also advocated for businesses at the Chamber of Commerce and improvements in our education system at LBCC. She also expanded transportation options for commuters during her time working at the Automobile Club of Southern California and the City of Los Angeles. When she is not busy attending Lakewood youth activities with her husband and three children, she advises policy for the South Coast Air Quality Management District. She is also an AYSO Team Parent, and helps raise funds for the LBCC Child Development Center LAC.
