Dear Officer:

I believe my postgraduate training in transportation engineering, my ability to

work well with others, as well as my experience make me an ideal candidate for t
he transportation career. Among my accomplishments have been:
- Programmed in different software (Transportation - TransCAD; Mathematics - Mat
lab, MS Excel; Statistics - SAS, R) to represent traffic behavior. Designed and
simulated traffic condition and Processed to build the model
(3 years experience during my master study)
- Summarized correlative background materials and Derived design equations to ev
aluate traffic behavior. Validated the system by building network in TransCAD (1
year experience, my bachlor degree thesis, focus on travel demand model)
- Developed problem-solving, project management skills and an understanding of t
echnical and practical details of road and bridge building. Programmed in VC++ t
o solve the road construction project. Developed analytical model and simulated
it in ANSYS/AutoCAD (intern experience)
- Published a paper in TRB2010: "Documenting Truck Activity Times at Internation
al Border Crossings Using Redesigned Geo-fences and Existing On-board Systems" (
experience in preparing technical report)

I am eager to contribute to your organization. My resume is included for your re

view. There are other relevant professional accomplishments in my background tha
t could also be of interest to you (travel demand model, like four step process;
travel survey and forecasting, like AADT; travel network, like shortest path co
ding, etc.)
I look forward to interviewing with your department. Please contact me should yo
u desire any further information before then.
Respectfully yours,
Hao Dong
