REPRESENTATIVE/SPECIAL SERVICES___ Perform a variety of clerical
functions to insure the efficient operation of a Physician's office
and clinic. Serve as liaison between the patient, physician,
specialist and diagnostic services. Translate for patients and
doctors Spanish to English and English to Spanish as needed.

Pre-register and register patients for both Outpatient and Inpatient
services. Perform all appropriate clerical work related to

Schedule appointments, secure authorization and coordinate referrals

health aide or Nurses) after patient hospital discharge or according
to patient needs. Explain payments policy to patients depending on

Medical terminology Obtain patient's medical records and review for
messages, abnormal tests and schedule appointments as needed. Assist
providers with admissions and scheduling surgery. Follow up on labs
and other test ordered by providers. Obtain prior approval numbers
for Patients with Medicare, Medicaid and HMO for medication, durable
equipments, nebulizer, oxygen and nutritional formula. Coordination
of home assessment (durable medical equipment) to ensure patient
safety. Provide switchboard and paging services for small
clinics. Interview new patients in a timely fashion to register
them on the initial visit and collect information regarding insurance
coverage/Medicaid and payment status. Schedule and arrange patient
transportation according to medical insurance when indicated and
handle related transportation issues such as metro card dispensing.
