Summary: I have 25 years in the Facilities Maintenance and Construction Industri
es and have had the privilege of planning, building and maintaining many large a
nd small Facilities and building systems with HVAC, Refrigeration, Flat Plate He
at Exchangers, Plumbing, Boilers, Building Monitoring Systems, Preventive Mainte
nance Programs, Fire Alarm Systems, UPS Systems, Energy Systems and Security. I
have managed 24/7/365 call center operations covering 8 states in the Southwest
utilizing Maintenance Systems like DataStream and Virynet. I have built and mana
ged Computer Data Centers, Banks, Grocery Stores, Operations Centers, Food Distr
ibution Facilities, Office Buildings and Healthcare Facilities. In all these com
panies I have had the responsibilities of budgeting, report writing, coaching, t
eaching, successor planning, contracting maintenance services, equipment procure
ment, contracting construction contractors and managing Architect and Engineers
to maintain and plan new and remodeled Facilities.
Career Experience:

Frys Food Stores (Kroger Corporation) 2006- present

Position: Director of Engineering and Construction
Currently I manage the Maintenance and Construction Departments and we manage th
e maintenance of 121 Grocery Stores with a 24/7/365 Call Center using Virynet Ma
intenance System covering 8 states and receiving over seven thousand calls annua
lly. We are evolving into the Western Regional Call center at this time and will
be utilizing a combination of in-house and contracted services providers. We av
erage over 30 New and remodel stores annually and as many smaller projects. I im
plemented a Preventive Maintenance system 3 years ago to help reduce or flatten
expenses and its showing benefits.
Arizona Management Company Inc. 2004 - 2006
Position: Vice President of Operations & Facilities
This company performed Real Estate transactions throughout Arizona and Californi
a. We bought and sold property in both states and I handled all facets of acquis
itions and sales. I manage all operational business affairs and facility managem
ent for all other companies owned by the partnership relating to our Entertainme
nt and Food Groups in Arizona, Florida and California.
Banner Desert Medical Center 2002 - 2004
Position: Director of Facilities & Construction
This is the largest Hospital in Arizona and was responsible for the daily mainte
nance of the Medical center consisting of a 114 bed long term care beds, 36 bed
behavioral health center and a 600 bed hospital with over 1.5 million square fe
et. The department had 60 employees covering and 88 acre campus. We had large ch
iller and tower systems and utilized in-house and contracted repair services. We
managed our work utilizing DataStream.
Southwest Supermarkets 1998 - 2002
Position: Vice President of Facilities and Construction
Southwest Supermarkets was a small retailer serving primarily Hispanic clients i
n Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas. Their business philosophy was to co
ntract all building maintenance services thru local service trades in each state
we operated in and coordinated thru our dispatch call center in Phoenix Arizona
. My major responsibility was to build new and remodel all stores on a 5 year st
rategic plan.
State of Arizona 1994 - 1998
Position: General Manager Capitol Facilities & Satellite Properties
At the State of Arizona I managed the Maintenance, Custodial, HVAC and Grounds
Departments covering 40 buildings and 3 million square foot of office and multi
use space on 121 acres and throughout the State. My department operated on a m
ulti-million dollar budget. My other duties included building inspections, proc
urement of contracted services, equipment maintenance and training of staff.
Pedus Services International 1991 - 1993
Position: Division Manager of Building Services
Pedus Services was a maintenance services contractor performing Building Managem
ent and Maintenance, Custodial, HVAC, Security and Grounds Services. My duties i
ncluded associate training and management budgeting, project management, staffin
g, procurement of equipment / materials and client relations.
Bank of America 1987 - 1991
Position: Vice President & Division Manager of Construction and Facilities
As Division Manager I directed the Maintenance of HVAC and Construction manageme
nt associates. The duties included preparation and implementation of operating a
nd construction budgets and the supervision of day to day maintenance operations
. The department consisted of 100 banking, office and operational buildings with
20+ residential multi-family apartment complexes and the remodeling of 350+ sin
gle family homes annually and the construction management of the construction of
corporate building program. Most work was contracted services with most in-hous
e service provided to HVAC systems only.
Chase Bank (Bank One) 1980 - 1987
Position: AVP - Corporate Facilities Manager
I managed 11 associates performing the building maintenance, lease management, c
ontracts management. Construction Management duties for all data center buildin
gs. I was responsible for Financial planning and management for all properties a
nd projects along with being a team member in annual strategic planning for the
Facilities Group.
Position: Corporate Project / Construction Manager
The Project Manager duties were to manage a project from concept definition thro
ugh construction completion. Space planning, interior design, construction docum
ent development and construction management duties, project cost development and
CAD management. During my time at Chase I averaged 25 projects a year and prepa
red all project budgets for all corporate projects..
Frys Food Stores of Arizona 1975 - 1980
Position: Architectural Project Coordinator / Construction Project Supervisor
I coordinated all phases of our building projects from conceptual design through
construction. I performed space planning, Construction document development, fi
eld Construction coordination and assisted Division Manager supervising the main
tenance department. I worked with all tenants on the management and expansion of
their leased space. The chain owned all of their property complexes.
