As a Special Agent/ Criminal Investigator with Immigration & Customs Enforcemen
t I was responsible for conducting criminal investigations of violations of the
Immigration and Nationality Laws and Customs Statutes as well as violations of o
ther federal and state violations committed by non citizens making them subject
to proceedings under Immigration statutes. I entered this position under the Imm
igration and Naturalization Service in 1988, serving in the Memphis Sub-Office o
n the New Orleans District of the INS and continued after the formation of Immig
ration & Customs Enforcement in the ASAC Memphis Office of SAC New Orleans. I wa
s tasked with conducting investigations, preparing reports, and presenting prose
cutions to the United States Attorney's Office. I have conducted benefit fraud i
nvestigations including marriage fraud and asylum fraud. I have also conducted e
mployer sanctions cases and work site investigations and served as the case agen
t planning enforcement operations leading to arrest, prosecution, and removal of
groups of undocumented workers. In this area, I also developed and presented ou
treach programs such as I-9 training and IMAGE presentations to employers and bu
siness groups. Additionally, I have conducted training for state and local agenc
ies on Immigration laws and proceedures and fraudulent document recognition.. I
have worked with other Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies throug
hout the Mid-South area during these investigations as well as with other intra-
agency groups such as Examinations (now Citizenship & Immigration Services), Ins
pections (now Customs and Border Protection) and the Detention and Removal Offic
