The South Beach Diet

Phase 1: The Strict Phase For the first two weeks, you will have normal-size helpings of 1. Chicken, fish –boiled, sautéed, grilled or baked 2. Vegetables- raw or boiled, cooked, grilled or sautéed. (Potatoes, beet, corn and tubers to be avoided) 3. Nuts (15 in number except cashew) 4. Skimmed diary products 5. Eggs- boiled or omelet. (2 numbers per day) You’ll have 3 meals a day plus snacks and you will eat till your hunger is satisfied. You’ll ideally lose between 8 and 13 pounds mostly in your belly area. Phase 2: The Weight-Loss Phase You’ll introduce fruits and chappati to your diet along with the above mentioned. This will be followed till your ideal weight is reached. Phase 3: The Maintenance Phase: You can eat normal helpings of healthy food, taking care not to over-indulge on calories.
