Responsible for reviewing all SCDOT projects for qu ality and to ensure proper Contract Management. A major project was the Cooper R iver Bridge project located in Charleston, South Carolina. Reviewed Resident Con struction Engineer's and Project Manager's work for accuracy and quality; and en sured that subordinates obtained all Quality control samples and tests in accord ance with the contract documents. Generated detail reports for upper management' s review and approval; and reviewed work with District Engineers to ensure that uniform applications of SCDOT policies were being applied in all seven districts . (March 2003- January 2005) Resident Construction Engineer SCDOT Aiken, South Carolina Served as Resident C onstruction Engineer for Aiken County where he supervised, planned, and coordina ted complex Bridge and Roadway projects, resurfacing projects, Interstate rehabi litation projects and Storm drainage projects. Responsible for overseeing the co nstruction of a 16 mile Interstate Rehabilitation project which involved Constru ction of Concrete pavement and the placement of "Super pave" asphalt in accordan ce with FHWA regulations; along with reviewing work with design personnel to ens ure compliance with the contract special provisions. Served as Resident Constru ction Engineer for Phase I of the Palmetto Parkway. Approved contractor's placem ent of geosynthetics on several projects to ensure compliance with contract spec ial provisions. Reviewed and approved work done by contractors, Utility companie s, Consultants, and SCDOT Project Engineers and Inspectors. Trained Project Engi neers and Inspectors in Inspection and Construction Management Duties, and devel oped cost estimates for future Roadway and Bridge construction projects.
