AT&T formed a joint venture with Mahindra Telecommunications
Investment Private Ltd. The venture, AT&T India, operates to serve
business customers in India. AT&T has also formed alliances with
other service providers in India enabling AT&T to provide customers
with additional services. These relationships allow AT&T to further
strengthen its commitment to global customers wishing to do
business in India – one of the fastest-growing and most exciting
telecommunications markets in the world.

In 2006, AT&T India became the first foreign telecom operator in

India to secure National Long Distance / International Long Distance
(NLD / ILD) licenses to serve global and India-headquartered
companies with advanced telecommunications services.

With headquarters in New Delhi, AT&T India employs over 80 staff

to serve business customers in India, and a further 750 staff with its
subsidiaries - Sterling Commerce and USinternetworking.
