Humans have been living and modifying since the beginning of time.

However, as we to continue to inhibit this planet, we consciously and subconsciously destroy our precious environment; all with intent of making like easier and to also generate economic benefits. As the rise of the environmental movement came, also did the awareness of human tampering on nature. Environmental thinkers and authors like Rachael Carson and P.J Bowler identify the everlasting detriments of the misuse of pesticides and chemicals on our environment Post World War 2. Rachael Carson s, Silent Spring and P.J Bowlers, The Rise of the Environment, paints and vivid picture of the connection between the raw toxicity of DDT and the recklessness of with which they have been employed though the manifestation of American culture. In addition, these two authors bring forth refreshing changes to come during the wave of environmentalism and the demands to come in protecting the wilderness. P.A a committed nature lover, Rachael Carson demonstrates the power of revolutionary change for [our] nature. Carson who is an extreme advocate for the environment, speaks honestly and directly about situation and outcomes of pesticide use. Her dedication acted as a right on behalf of the wilderness. Her determination of preserving the environment took her to a level which she exposed federal governments and business associations for producing misleading and inaccurate information about the chemical control. As a result, she addressed health risks involved and linked the death of many humans, wildlife, and organisms with cancer, caused by direct chemical exposure. In silent spring, Rachael Carson quotes Radiation is no longer merely the back ground radiation of rocks, the bombardment of cosmic rays, the ultraviolet of the sun that have existed before there was any life on earth; radiation is now the unnatural creation of man s tampering with the atom. The chemicals to which life is asked to make it s adjustments are no longer merely the calcium and silica and copper and all the rest of the minerals washed out of the rocks and carried in rivers to the sea; they are synthetic creations of man s inventive mind, brewed in his laboratory and having non counterparts in attune 2. (pg.7)As this quote depicts, interference of what it I natural in nature is not a good thing. Having a sterile community was the ultimate goal to stop the spread of disease, but humans have paid the ultimate price in exchange for convenience. For example: depiction of birds dying and trees wilting are preliminary examples of environmental degradation. However these actions were counterproductive because, in turn it was a tragedy for population and nature. Moreover, the works of P.J Bowler also outline similar reflections as those of Rachael Carson s. Unlike Carson, Bowler examines environment through ecological evolution. Evolutionary theory explains why objects with certain properties move and change the way they do and how organisms change. In rise of the environment, the uphold of environmentalism was flourishing and taking on political movements: such as Green Party. This is solely because mankind has seen what irreversible damage they have caused the environment and massive change and actions need to be taken. Bowler also an advocate to the environment, suggest that science blind folded the modern world and the respect for the wild nature vanished for the world to feed humans

needs. As Bowler quotes, Nature is not a machine whose components can be studied or modified individually; it is a compressive system governed by laws that interrelate all the various parts. The human race is a part of this system and can flourish only if it respects the laws governing the whole. This does not mean exploiting knowledge of ecological relationship to further our control of nature- it means backing away from the whole philosophy of dominance that has sustained the rise of modern science and industry. Page. 511-512. Human nature dictates that every action, no matter how selfless it appears, is inspired by a selfish reason. Our actions to protect are the fundamental form environment, awareness to people who otherwise had no knowledge that the products they were using could be harmful. As Bowler indicates the publish of Silent Springwas anything, but Silent Green Party political were becoming inferential public figures and support was attracted elsewhere: if the Scientific ecologists were becoming even more interested in economic models, the environmentalist in society as a whole were turning their backs on economics and demanding that nature BC treated with respect Bowler, pg. 516.
