According to a recent World Health Organization (WHO) report, cell phones are potentially harardous to our health.

Dangerous or not, one thing is certain: Cell phones are here to stay. Below are recommendations to minimize potential risks:

As of May 31, 2011 the WHO now lists mobile phone use in the same “carcinogenic hazard” category as lead, engine exhaust and chloroform. Until this report, WHO had assured consumers that no adverse health e ects had been established.
Mobile phones use CONFLICTING RESULTS electromagnetic "In the general population, particularly in the younger population, there is just no radiation in the evidence ... that brain tumours are increasing in a way that would suggest that they microwave range (MICROWAVE). are related to the greater amount of radio-frequency energy in our environment." –Professor Bruce Armstrong from the University of Sydney

What it all means

A cell phone's SAR, or its Specific Absorption Rate, is a measure of the amount of radio frequency (RF) energy absorbed by the body when using the handset. All cell phones emit RF energy and the SAR varies by handset model.

Not for children

Keep away

• In May 2011, the European Union proposed a ban on cellphones in schools because of "potential e ects on health. " • Russia, Great Britain, Australia and Canada also seek to regulate or even prohibit children to use cell phones.

• Nobody follows the manufacturers recommendations to keep the phone at least 25 mm from the head during a call. Speaking in a noisy bar is almost impossible without pressing the phone against his head, which could exceed the limits of radiation. • The University of California suggests using headphones and keep the camera a few feet away from the head.

DO NOT TALK IN :
• Elevators • The underground parking • The car. Volkswagen Europe has warned that cell phone use inside a car can be "harmful to health from extremely high electromagnetic fields. "

If the reception is weak, more waves of radiation are emitted to supply enough energy to keep the signal.
