The more tags you have on your book, the better it is searchable on Amazon. Everyone on Amazon can add 15 tags per item and this only once per item. So if y ou want your tags to go up, to have them more searchable, you will need your fam ily and friends to tag your book. And unless you have hundreds of friends and family all with an Amazon account, i t is worth to join a tagging list. On a tagging list authors help other authors by tagging each other's books. This is advantageous for all. Your tags go up and it is fun to belong to a group of people who are not only willing to help each other, but also form a network and networking is always good. PLEASE READ ALL THE BELOW CAREFULLY
POINT 1. The list is posted once a week, Friday or early Saturday USA time. Plea se GO to the LATEST post, and work backwards to find the most recent list. POINT 2. This is NOT a you-tag-me-I'll tag-you-for-individual-books list. POINT 3. The WHOLE list needs to be tagged with the PREFERRED TAGS before your b ook/s can be accepted to the list. Please post a link to your Amazon Public Prof ile, so we can see that you indeed have tagged the whole list. Please do not be daunted by the length of the list. Sure, it takes a while to ta g it, but you only need to do it ONCE, and then after that you only need to tag the new books once a week. POINT 4. Please do NOT tag new people who post through the week. If they have ta gged the whole list their books will be placed as new books on the new list. Whe n this new list is posted (see point 1) everyone will tag the new books. So if you are a newbie and are wondering why your tags don t go up, this is becaus e the new list hasn t come out yet. POINT 5. Preferred Tags - To be on this list, you MUST submit a list of preferre d tags you would like. Amazon allows up to 15 tags per book. We tag so our sales go up, and it helps if we have chosen our own preferred tags. Also, it is much faster to just cut & paste the preferred tags than clicking 15 tags one by one. POINT 6. There is a separate section for UK books. If you have never made a purc hase from Amazon UK, ignore these books as your tags will not stick. They will a ppear to you, but they will not stick. Please believe us when we say that those tags don't stick. It is an Amazon fact! POINT 7. Once your books have been added to the list, please post weekly to say you have tagged the new books on the list. Books from non-taggers are removed. W e check ALL Amazon profiles to make sure that books have in fact been tagged. Of course, people skip a week here and there for various reasons, but otherwise bo oks should be tagged on a weekly basis. POINT 8. There is a limit of 8 books that you can have on the tagging list. POINT 9. You need to have made a purchase on Amazon US (only one purchase, ever) to have tags that work. (If not, your tags will show, but disappear once you le ave the screen.) The same goes for Amazon UK. POINT 10. You need to tag EVERY book on the list with its PREFERRED TAGS. This w ill take a while to start with, but after that you need only to tag the new book s each week. Please note that you have to tag EVERY requested tag. If you have r eligious or ideological problems with this, your books will not be added to the List. POINT 11. To have your UK books added to the list you yourself must be able to t ag on Amazon UK. If you don t have an Amazon UK account you can t tag in the UK. To set up an Amazon UK account please go back to Point 9. Just like with the Amazon US profiles (see point 3) you must post a link to your Amazon UK public profile before you can submit UK books. POINT 12. It is not necessary to repost your book links and public profile links . Once is enough. POINT 13. The Agree with these tags link near the tags on the book page is NOT imp ortant for tagging. It is NOT a shortcut or easier way to tag. Please ignore the Agree with these tags link while you are tagging the list. POINT 14. Don't worry about the book numbers changing week-by-week. This happens
because books are moved to a different section or removed POINT 15. Please make sure you check the thread regularly. Sometimes we post rem arks or questions for individual people and it would be good if they were actual ly read and reacted to. That would help us enormously. THE SLOWNESS OF THIS THREAD For some reason this thread tends to get very slow. The best way to open it is b y clicking the last page number of the thread name in the General Questions sect ion of this forum. One of the things that makes this thread slow is duplicate posts. When posting i n this forum it sometimes looks like it takes ages to send. It's very tempting t o click 'send' again, but this will cause duplicate posts. So please don't. Either: Wait until the page loads (even if it takes ages). Or (and this is what I do) highlight all the text in your to-be-send post and pr ess ctrl C on your keyboard (this copies your post, so you don't have to retype it all again). Then click 'send'. When you can see that the page loader indicato r is getting stuck, just click the 'General Questions' link. 99 out of a 100 tim es your post has already been posted. If it hasn't, open the thread via the fina l number, click reply, paste (ctrl V) your text back into the post box and send again. But in my experience I never have to repost it, as it has always gone thr ough. The crtl C is just a precaution. If you accidently have made a duplicate post, don't panic! Please go to your dup licate post. Up the top right of the post is a little notebook icon. Click this to edit. Remove all text and type for instance 'duplicate post'. Please do NOT w rite anything in the box, "message edited by" as that will defeat the purpose of reducing text. HOW TO FIND YOUR AMAZON PUBLIC PROFILE (US or/and UK) To find your Amazon Public Profile log into Amazon and click on the 'Your Accoun t' link in the upper right corner. Scroll down to the 'Personalization' section and click on 'Your Public Profile'. The URL for the page that comes up is what y ou want to copy and paste. This method can be used to find your US as well as your UK public profile. Once you have found your public profile please post it in the thread to confirm that you have tagged the WHOLE list before your books can be added. So the profile we are after is your Amazon.com (or Amazon.co.uk) public profile. Not your KDP profile OR your Author Central page. HOW TO TAG (for Windows) IN NINE SIMPLE STEPS Remember that you need to have made at least one purchase from Amazon US or Amaz on UK at some point for your tags to remain (your tags will show, but disappear once you leave the screen). Log in to your Amazon account and in another window open the most current taggin g list (see point 1 above). 1) BELOW each book link is a list with preferred tags for that book. Left-click just to the left of the start of the preferred tags and drag the cursor downward , highlighting the tags for that book. 2) Right-click and choose Copy (or click ctrl C on the keyboard) on the selected tags 3) Right-click and choose Open in New Window on the link to the book page. This wi ll open the book page in a new window. 4) Click the T on your keyboard twice quickly (or use the link as described belo w). A box opens, which most of the time will be empty. If there are tags in it, it means you have already tagged the book. 5) Right-click and choose Paste (or click ctrl V on the keyboard). This pastes t he preferred tags of the list into the box. (If you have already tagged the book
, but want to replace those tags with the preferred ones from the list, simply s elect the existing tags by clicking ctrl A on your keyboard and click delete. Th en click save and in the now empty box paste the preferred tags.) 6) Click on 'Save Tags'. Sometimes it says failed to save but then simply click e tags again (and again) until they get saved. 7) On the book page the tags that you pasted in will now be ticked, thereby show ing that you have tagged the book. 8) Alt-F4 to close the book page window (or click it closed) 9) Repeat with the next book. Please make sure you paste the preferred tags into the, so-called, TT-box. IMPORTANT!!! - If you try to paste them into the little box that appears below t he tags on the book page, it will not work. This little box has limited space an d will cut off words. It also seems to have a problem with extra commas etc. So please make sure you paste the preferred tags into the pop-up TT-box!! If you have problems opening the TT-box by typing TT, there is a small link to o pen this box as well. It can be found in the small light grey sentence : (Press the 'T' key twice to quickly access the "Tag this product" window.) in the tag s ection of the book page. The "Tag this product" is the link to open the box.
Amazon UK is notoriously bad to tag on. Some days are better than others, but of ten the tags will not appear on the book page. Usually refreshing the page 4 or 5 times helps to make the tags show. If they still don t show, or can t be saved, co me back another day when things might be easier. Unfortunately Amazon US now has the same problems as Amazon UK. So please refres h the page, or come back another day. PREFERRED TAGS. Please make sure that you tag only and all the preferred tags that belong to a b ook - otherwise there is no point. Also make sure you tag the right book with the right tags! On the tagging list t he preferred tags will always be shown UNDER the link to the book page. SETTING OUT OF REQUESTED BOOKS: Please set out your requested book in the following way. This saves us so much t ime when preparing the list. Your help is greatly appreciated in this! Please set it out like this: Your Forume name, your book link to Amazon. On the next line, list the preferred tags you would like. (Make sure there are no spell ing mistakes in them!) Please do NOT put in the book's title. Please do NOT put in the words "tags" or "preferred Tags" or "my tags." If you are listing the same book, please repeat the tags after the 2nd book. UK books - Put "UK BOOK" before you set out. Have a look at the way the list is set out and do PRECISELY the same so we only have to copy/paste your books/tags. Think of a tag as a keyword or category label. Tags can both help you find items on the Amazon site as well as provide an easy way for you to "remember" and cla ssify items for later recall. There are many ways to use tags. Here are some examples: Find other items with similar qualities: Are you a photography enthusiast? F ind a photography book that you love and tag it with the category "photography b ook." Click on the "photography book" tag you created and see other items that w ere tagged similarly. Because people's tags are (by default) visible to others, a great effect of tagging is that you can navigate among items through other peo ple's tags. Add a tag and check out what other items people have tagged as "robo t" or "gardening" or "chocolate." Also, you can assign as many tags as you wish to each product, so tag away! Organize your collection or items of interest: Tag items you've purchased in the past and organize your collection in any way you wish. Don't like the way A mazon has organized its science fiction or cookbooks? Tag the items you care abo ut with the categories that matter to you. Remember items you are considering for purchase: If you are planning to buy a digital camera, you might tag several makes and models so that you can look at them side by side, organized the way you wish. Search Tags: You can search for products with a given tag from any product d etail page or from any tag page. Get recommendations based on items you've tagged: Items you tag will be used as sources from which to make personalized recommendations. Go to Your Store an d select from your tags under the Recommendations by Your Tags section. All item s you've marked with the tag you select from here will be used as the basis for these recommendations. What tags shouldn't I use? By default your tags are public so everyone can view them. You should not use: Profane or obscene language, inciting or spiteful tags Tags that might: harass, abuse or threaten other members of the community Tags that may reveal any personal information about children under age 13 Tags that promote illegal or immoral conduct Tags that indicate sentiments by or on behalf of a person or company with a financial interest in the product or a directly competing product We recommend that you do not use tags which might reveal your phone number or email address. Please note that all tags must be in compliance with our Community Guidelines, a nd any tags that do not comply may be deleted. How many tags can I add to a product? You can add up to 15 tags per item. Where can I go to see the items I've tagged? Click on "Your Amazon.com" through the tab at the top of the site. Next click "Y our Profile" in the navigation bar. Scroll down the page and you'll see sections called "Your Tags" and "Products You Tagged." Can everyone see my tags?
By default, if you have at least one purchase at Amazon, everyone can see your t ags. If you don't have a purchase yet, your tags will not be publicly visible. H owever, as soon as you buy something and add a new tag, all your tags will becom e public. Your tags will help others find interesting products, and likewise you can see how other customers have tagged products. As you navigate using tags, y ou will find more and more interesting products, as collectively organized by ot her Amazon customers. To make your tags private: Go to Your Profile page, find the Your Tags area, and click on Manage Your Tags. From there you can select individual tags on the rig ht of the screen and click "Share" to make the tag public or private. How can I edit or remove a tag? When you are on a product page, you can click on Edit to edit or remove a tag yo u created. Or, go to Your Profile page, scroll to the Your Tags area, and click on Manage Your Tags. From there you can edit and delete tags. -----------------------------------------------------------http://www.advertiseonabout.com/Contact/ email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org pw: clayborne email@example.com clayborne4shared firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com Twitter Mcreditexpert M223519000m Use this link whenever you post information how to buy my book.
