The Most Holy Trinity

Happy Fathers Day Today, we celebrate one of the most important and influential in most of our lives - our dads. We give thanks today for the gift of all of our fathers and we always remember them in our prayers, especially today. The UCC would like to wish all the fathers out there a very happy Fathers Day and may God bless you all and all of your families! Congratulations to Deacon John On June 10, our very own Deacon John De La Garza, Jr., celebrated his eleventh year as a Deacon of the Church. Deacon John has been with the UCC for eight years now and has been a tremendous help in all aspects of the Church. Along with his numerous duties, he specializes in helping couples through marriage preparation. So if you see Deacon John around, be sure to shake his hand and congratulate him on his eleven years of service to the Church.

Each year, the Diocese of Austin hands out an award to many lay people throughout the Diocese; people who, in their own ways, have been a Light of the World. This year, our very own Bryan Garcia was a recipient of this prestigious award. Bryan is an upcoming senior at the University of Texas at Austin. He likes to joke that he is minoring in the UCC while earning a degree in Social Work. During the last academic year, Bryan served as president of the high school retreat team at the UCC (known as STRONG), the leader of the social justice team, on the staff for Longhorn Awakening, and was a member of the National Catholic Student Coalition. He will be serving as co-coordinator of Longhorn Awakening in the fall. So a heartfelt congratulations goes out to Bryan; be sure to thank him for everything that he has done for the UCC and for everything that he will do. Pastors Wish List When it comes to donating to an organization, you might like to know exactly where your money is going.
