We’re robbing the fucking place. WAREHOUSE The interior of the warehouse is Spartanly decorated. These nutters. Mitchell’s extended figure hovers in front of Teddy’s face until he’s certain the big guy has nothing more to say.they got plenty of money and they don’t report it! TEDDY But Mitchel--MITCHELL (interrupts) Shut up Teddy! Shut.DAY Two figures hurry towards an abandoned warehouse. TEDDY We can’t fence nothing from a warehouse. TEDDY How’d you find this guy? MITCHELL Same way I found the others: looked for the weirdest ad on Craigslist. It’s unlocked so they enter the cage.EXT. MITCHELL is a step or two ahead of TEDDY. up.. PARKING LOT . Nearby is a heating element with a pot of half-eaten beans on it--now cold. Mitchell. INT.. TEDDY It looks nu-cu-lar. The smaller. On the other side of the fence is a rocket-shaped device with weirdly glowing tubes and a card table upon which a couple of computers sit. The door swings shut behind them. Mitchell and Teddy cross to the door. The entrance is separated from the back half of it by a cheap metal fencing from which hangs a flimsy wire mesh door.
paws out the few scraps of paper trash. Instantly.. (CONTINUED) . Mitchell steals over to the table. He raises his voice to cut through the mayhem. MITCHELL Teddy! SHUT UP! Everyone is instantly cowed. each pointing a gun at the Teddy and Mitchell near the time machine. shouts and waves his gun around. MITCHELL Teddy! Frightened.CONTINUED: 2. The asshole who placed the ad thought it was a time machine. TEDDY What? MITCHELL It’s fucking nu-clear. but to me it looks like about a hundred bucks in scrap metal. Teddy hovers near the time machine. TEDDY Mitchell. except one. Each Teddy has expected to appear by himself. then four more Teddys appear in the space in front of the entrance. MITCHELL Jesus Christ. The bullets slam into the fence and are deflected by shimmering purple sparks--the time machine has erected some kind of forcefield. His finger hits a hidden button and there’s a flash.. I don’t think. then scoops the laptops into it. Teddy grabs the time machine.. There’s no goddamn u in it. From the back of the group is a scream of animalistic rage as a deformed version of Teddy raises his gun and fires twice. not two anyways. rips the garbage bag out of the plastic bin nearby. Well. And it’s not fucking nuclear. There’s a moment of confusion. and when he notices the others.. MITCHELL Nuclear. Take it. sparks fly from the fence and door...
who hadn’t got involved. I thought. I could stop it. Alarmed. okay. if I killed my younger self. Mitchell looks over the group of Teddys. MITCHELL Okay. I saw him shoot McNulty. SHOOTY TEDDY Can you hear me? MITCHELL Yes I can fucking hear you! What the shit is this? SHOOTY TEDDY I’m here from the future. comes over to the fence. She shot herself! Goddamn it. Another Teddy looks up from the struggle in the back.. two of the other Teddys wrestle the fourth to the ground. Two hours after I left here I shot Krueger. okay. (CONTINUED) . It brought the future to us. It didn’t send us nowhere. After a minute the Teddy closest to them. Okay. Wait! Mitchell holds the dreaded finger out and returns to his own Teddy. okay.CONTINUED: 3. MITCHELL The dealer? SHOOTY TEDDY (nods) His gang killed Minny. TESTY TEDDY I came to kill me too! I didn’t shoot Krueger. REVENGE TEDDY I told Minny I was a thief. He killed Minny when I testified against him. MITCHELL The time machine got it backwards. TEDDY What do we do? They’re blocking the only way out.
CONTINUED: MITCHELL Why four? Four different futures? They can’t all happen. MITCHELL You’re right handed. So all we have to do to make them go away is to make their future impossible. that’s it! Mitchell turns on Teddy. They’re from A future. TEDDY I don’t understand. MITCHELL See! Goddamn it. but--Mitchell clenches the knife in his teeth and wrestles Teddy’s hand onto the table. then knocks the beans onto the ground and places the knife on the heating element and hits the "on" button. Mitchell looks back just in time to see SHOOTY TEDDY vanish. They’re from possible futures. Teddy screams as the finger is severed. MITCHELL They’re not from THE future. He ignores Teddy’s mewling cries as he extends Teddy’s trigger finger and brings the knife down on it--hard. Mitchell nods and pulls a wicked looking machete out of his coat. (CONTINUED) . It heats rapidly to a cherry red. He looks Teddy up and down. Wait. TEDDY What? MITCHELL You can’t have shot Krueger AND testified against him. 4. that’s how we get out of here! TEDDY (holding his finger) Oh Mitchell!!! Oh God!!! Oh God!!! Mitchell looks him up and down. Mitchell. right? TEDDY Yeah.
5. then nods. MITCHELL It’s like a game. but after a few seconds his sniffles stop. MITCHELL Listen buddy. MITCHELL Feels better now. MITCHELL You don’t have a choice. Mitchell nods then steps closer to Teddy. He whimpers.CONTINUED: MITCHELL Oh. Teddy approaches reluctantly and holds out his finger-stump.. Now I can save us.. come here you big baby.. Teddy screams.. There’s three more of them out there. (CONTINUED) . Mitchell snatches it and holds the red hot knife to it. MITCHELL Teddy. I don’t know. doesn’t it? Teddy holds his finger stump and nods. Mitchell. Mitchell spins around and studies the others. Teddy. Teddy.. You told Minny you were a thief didn’t you? Mitchell heats up the knife again. You saw how I got rid of that last one? TEDDY Oh god. Think about Minny! In all their futures. TEDDY Still hurts. What was your thing. Minny dies! She’s the most important thing in the world to you! You can save her! TEDDY Oh god. They have guns and they want to kill you. Flesh sizzles. I gotta take your tongue..
. (To Teddy) Teddy! Teddy. His attention turns to the last standing Teddy. goddamn it you’re saving Minny’s life! (CONTINUED) . MITCHELL There are operations. MITCHELL (To himself) You witnessed a murder. I gotta take your eyes. I’m sure this is reversible. I don’t know. He’s gone. but Teddy’s screams are muted and indistinct. Mitchell. doing his best to sound nurturing. Hurts though.CONTINUED: TEDDY My tongue? Mitchell holds the knife. TEDDY Noooooo. He gets close.. (Teddy shakes his head) Think of Minny! Teddy.. He holds the knife against Teddy’s tongue... 6. I can still talk. He’s gone. Teddy nearly weeps in fear.. MITCHELL Well. Flesh burns again. one and a half. Mitchell looks again and sees another Teddy disappear. MITCHELL Teddy. That leaves two.. Not my eyes. MITCHELL It doesn’t matter. Maybe it’ll hurt so bad you never tell Minnie you’re a thief. MITCHELL There are operations.. From behind him: TEDDY (Slurred) Mitch. Mitch. He looks out and notices that the animalistic Teddy is slumped over and unconscious near the exit.
this Teddy speaks in a slurred growl. It’s missing a trigger finger. . The broken down creature looks up with eyes that are seared shut. Mitchell raises the knife and sears each of Teddy’s eyes. Behind them. the broken-down Teddy reaches up and snatches his jacket. TEDDY Okay. What’s your story? Head still bowed. In the background Mitchell hear sirens. Teddy finally nods. TEDDY I’ve come back to kill you for it. Mitchell. Ted. As he puts his hand on the handle. Mitchell’s eyes widen and he stares at the hand that has caught his coat. Mitchell tears open the door and makes a run for the door. MITCHELL Teddy! Teddy we did it! He looks backwards.CONTINUED: 7. The third Teddy disappears. I trust you. It’s the cops and you’re too heavy to lift. MITCHELL Jesus Christ. TEDDY Two years ago you tortured me and left me to die in this very room. the time machine darkens. MITCHELL Sorry. The gun in his left hand rises like a cobra and flashes. but Teddy has passed out from the pain. and the fence crackles and flashes.
