The American Dream Is Alive In The Tea Party!

10:55 AM 10/25/2010 by David L. Watts

No matter what anyone tells you the American Dream is alive and well. How can I say that with U.S. unemployment around 10% or 15% when you factor in the folks who have just given up find a new job, the banks are forcing thousands of home foreclosures every day and it is still very hard to get capital and credit if you are a small business owner. I can easily and confidently say the American Dream has never been stronger than it is today. How else can you explain that the election of bi-racial or AfricanAmerican junior senator as president of the most powerful country on the planet would unleash the dumbest, racist, craziest, unethical, paranoid, conspiratorial, delusional, stupidest, and irrational, nave, shady, irresponsible, dishonest, narcissistic and greatest cadre of political lunatics that ever existed in America history? Yes, the very existence of the Tea Party is the direct reaction to a Black man with a Muslim middle name being elected to the White House. No Barack Hussein Obama elected president then you do not get a Tea Party movement. One American Dream gives birth to thousands of others. Only in a great freedom loving country like America could you be dead broke and defeat a popular multi-term governor in a major Republican Senate primary, declare you dabbled in witchcraft, be under investigation for living off past Senate election campaign funds, not able to name a single Democratic Senator, not able to name your states other Senator, say you saw Chinas secret invasion of America plans, state unequivocally that scientist had created mice with fully functioning human brains, could not name a single recent Supreme court decision to discuss in a national televised Senatorial debate and do not believe in masturbation and still have a highly credible chance of being elected as a U.S. Senator. Yes, Christine O Donnell is one of the best living examples of how America will regularly elect highly unqualified people to one of the countrys highest and most powerful political positions. Again only in America could someone be so blind with optimism that they could get elected to Congress as a proNazi historical sympathizer, tell Hispanic school kids that they look Asian or say we may resort to a second amendment resolution for political rivals, say unemployment benefits are unconstitutional but were okay when his wife previously got them, lie about death panels in Obama Care, make up stories about headless bloody bodies of illegal immigrants or brazenly say the option of violently overthrowing the U.S. to enact real change cannot be ruled out. Yes, Tea Party means hope and change for all crazies!

And that is what fuels the Tea Party candidates nationwide--the underlying belief that knowing nothing, standing for nothing and having no solutions to the countrys most serious and complex social, economic and political problems would not prevent them from achieving their fondest dream of being able to say they are a newly elected Senator, congressman or governor. And although running for Congress or any political office by its very nature is always an unpredictable and hard task, the Tea Party has managed to do what no GOP pollster, Rush Limbaugh or cable TV politico pundit every imagined do and that is completely fuck up the Republicans easily taking back both the House and Senate narrative. If all the moderate GOP Senate candidates or RHINOs ( Republican In Name Only) like Colorados Lt. Gov. Jane Norton, Delawares Mike Castle, Nevadas Sue Lowden, Floridas Charlie Crist, and Pennsylvanias Arlen Spectator had not lost to Tea Party backed GOP candidates, then it would have been a lock that the Republicans easily won back the House and Senate. Just barley winning the House back is not good enough to do all the nutty, grand GOP plans like repealing Obama Care, permanently extending the Bush tax cuts for the rich, privatizing Social Security, imposing harder anti-immigration laws, preventing the repeal of Dont Ask Dont Tell, undoing the new bank and financial Industry regulations, killing off the Cap and Trade legislation and most importantly getting any new conservative Supreme Court judges approved. Those are huge GOP agenda items that will not happen with a Democratic President and divided Congress. No one who truly thought the 1994 GOP change election would happen again in 2010 never factored in having a Senate controlled by the Democrats and there would be a small vocal, mentally challenged minority of Tea Baggers who will be undoubtedly more concerned about impeaching Obama, abolishing the Department of Education, having Birther hearings, investigating the New Black Panther party, stopping unemployment benefits, lowering or removing the minimum wage, protecting Second Amendment rights, privatizing social security and finding some stupid ass excuse to repeal the 14th Amendment. The future of the GOP is going to be bleak because the Tea Baggers has made the GOP write off the youth vote, Black vote and Hispanic vote. Furthermore, now anyone knows that the easiest way to win a Republican primary in 2012 will be to declare their loyalty to the Tea Party first and GOP last. Christine O Donnell despite her many flaws would still beat any smarter or more experienced GOP rivals in a 2012 primary race in Delaware. Moderate conservatives and RHINOs are what are needed to pick up

significant House and Senate seats in the Northeast, West and Midwest. Just saying crazy ass conservative anti-government conspirator shit will get you instantly elected in anywhere in the South and Southwest, but Tea Party madness is not a national movement, but a Fox News Channel driven virus that spread to all mainstream media. And the Tea Party backed Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachman 2012 presidential run will only knock off a moderate like Mitt Romney or even a fiscal conservative like Tim Pawlenty from even getting past Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. And an election between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama will only drive the House and Senate back to the Democrats in 2012. There is hardly any top elected Senate or House Republicans that are seriously going on national TV and hoping and begging that Palin run for president. GOP insiders and party leaders could barely stomach her folksy, clumsy and silly ways as a vice president candidate. So putting her and a Tea Party agenda against a Center-Right Obama re-election agenda will only produce a landslide victory for the Dems. There would be no need for Obama to have to appeal to liberals because the thought of a President Palin or God help us--President Bachman with crazy Tea Bagger mandates would force any liberal or progressive to support Obama no matter how much they think he let them down in his first term as president. There are going to be many established non-Tea Party Republicans who will have to strategize to get their many defeated GOP colleagues from 2010 re-elected in 2012, but also they will have to fight off the new crop of Tea Party challengers who will want take their own seat in Congress. And Democrats will know that running as a conservative GOP leaning Blue Dogs will not be beat Tea Party backed GOP candidates. The lessons that will be learned from the 2010 elections and the key to beating future Tea Party GOP candidates will be to use their own words against them. That is why ODonnells campaigned imploded and why Sharon Angle and Joe Miller were running away from the press. But the more folks see the Tea Party live and up close the less they like of them as mainstream leaders. The Throw The Bums Out attitude will go away fast when many realize how many newly elected Tea Baggers say one dumb thing day after day and become weekly parodied on SNL, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. But even if the vast majority of minorities, young adults, liberals, progressives, college educated Americans do not respect the Tea Party or Tea Baggers their very existence and limited success so far as a viable third party is 100% and undisputable proof that the America Dream is alive and kicking. The Tea Partys big dreams of being in the U.S. Congress will be a reality after November 3rd, 2010 for a large group of political novices. Now what the Tea Party actually does when they get their brood in the House, Senate or maybe as governor is story that has yet to be written, but I can guarantee that whatever wacky stuff they say or do will surely be well documented and well discussed in thedarkroome.com. Even dumb people need heroes living out the American Dream. By
