GRP Water Storage Tanks Standard Insulated-

-The Best Range -The Best Options - Backed by over 30 years experience.

CONSTRUCTION
Dewey Waters tanks are moulded in ONE PIECE using top quality G.R.P. All but the smallest sizes have an integral steel reinforcement encapsulated within the laminate, thus preventing corrosion. Deflection of these tanks is less than 1% of the side wall length. The tanks have a smooth, pale grey interior and dark turquoise blue textured exterior-non standard colours are available at extra cost.

CONNECTIONS
As many specifiers prefer us to supply connections to the tank, a full range of fittings is available. See our Data Sheet-Your Options for Tank Connections for information on tank connections, sockets, spigots full faced flanges etc. Where we are not asked to supply fittings, standard fittings can be used. Standard un-insulated tanks can have holes cut with ordinary drills or plumbers hole saws, however, where the location of fittings is critical a sketch should be attached to the order allowing us to check that the steel reinforcement does not conflict. With all pre-insulated FORMAT 30 Tanks. standard connection points will be supplied unless we get specific details before manufacture (see page 4). An additional and variations.

HEAT AND CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

Our tanks are designed for the storage of water up to 55C but will stand occasional higher temperatures. They are therefore suitable for Feed and Expansion tanks. However, if higher heat resistance is required we can quote for continuous operation at up to 100C. Standard tanks are suitable for many mild and some aggressive chemicals, but we will only accept responsibility if we quote against specific detail. Enquiries should state: Exact chemical makeup including trace elements, water treatment and dosing additives. Maximum concentration. Operating and maximum temperatures. We can then quote for the manufacture using special resins appropriate to your needs.

INSULATION
insulated with 25mm, 50mm or 75mm foam (giving values of 0.85, 0.40 and 0.27w/m2/C as required). The foam is overlaminated with GRP which both protects and prevents future removal of the insulation.

Tanks and lids can be integrally

SUPPORT
The tanks are designed to be supported over the whole of the base. An optional reinforced base is available which allows installation on supports of not less than 75mm wide at 600mm centres. Any other form of support should be specifically drawn to our attention and a special quotation obtained. If a drain connection in the bottom of the tank is needed, where a reinforced base is selected, we must be advised so that provision for it can be made.

charge will be made for extras

It is vitally important that we are informed of any nonstandard connection points, as fitters cannot cut through the insulation and GRP laminate without exposing the foam core. Under Water Regulations/Byelaws, insulation materials which permit absorption of water, breeding of bacteria etc, and entry of insects and vermin are no longer permitted - with the Dewey Waters Insulation System you are safe.

LIDS
A choice of lids is available:1. FORMAT 30 lids insulated and with accessories (see pages 4 & 5). 2. Sealed and bolted HEAVY DUTY lids. 3. Bonded-On HEAVY DUTY lids (as these lids cannot be removed, a manway is included as standard - tank sizes C3 and above). Except where sealed and (710mm x 710mm aperture) bolted and bonded-on Heavy Duty Lids are called for, all tanks of over 1000 litres have covers in sections - so that one part can be removed for access without uncovering the whole tank (as called for in the Water Regulations/Byelaws) Optional Extras 1. INSPECTION HATCH in any tank over 200 litres. (These are not needed to comply with Water Regulations/Byelaws but may be advisable for quicker or additional access). 2. STANDARD MANWAYS in tanks of over 1000 litres. 3. RAISED BALL VALUE CHAMBERS. [On some tanks the lid detail will be varied to accommodate the latter items.)
Standard Manway.

Optional Inspection Hatch. (350mm x 350mm aperture)

Raised Ball Valve Chamber. Special overlapping seal detail of (These con incorporate a WRAS approved multipart lids. Type A Air Gap designed and calculated in strict accordance with BS 6281).

Your easy way to comply with Water Regulations/ Byelaws

All Dewey Waters one piece GRP tanks are now available in FORMAT 30 - i.e. complete with all details to enable you to readily comply with Water Regulations/Byelaws.

One of the major importances of current water supply regulations is that all water, hot or cold, in any premises that may be used for human consumption has to be potable quality. The word domestic now has a much wider meaning. Details of construction and materials used have always been important now proper insulation, lid design, the screening vents, breathers, overflows and warning pipes (telltales) are now subject to rigorous rules. The difficulty of getting together all the elements of the tank and its peripherals can be time consuming and expensive and not all users yet understand the problems involved. Dewey Waters have therefore put together a package to make it easier for you.

Including 1. Integral encapsulated INSULATION in both tank and lid (at .8w/m2 C standard - higher values available for exposed sites). Approved and listed by WRAS. 2. Close fitting mechanically fixed rigid COVER with built in screened breather (.65mm mesh) the cover is opaque, edge sealed and has a turned down edge of double skin GRP in WRAS approved material. 3. Two part cover giving access on all tanks over 1000 litres nom. 4. An additional inspection hatch is available if required (not mandatory). 5 . Close laminated prepared [but not drilled) CONNECTION POINTS as per diagram, allowing penetration of the tank without exposing the insulation core materials (as called for in draft British Standard). 6 . Vent point ready to drill in cover. 7. 22mm micro screened overflow/telltale where this size is adequate (i.e. up to 1000 litres) or as a telltale or warning pipe where this is needed in addition to a larger overflow. A - up to 2 Tank Connector/ Float Valve B Overflow - up to 3 Flanged Connector* - up to 3 Flanged Connector* C&D Cold Water Down Supply E Separate Telltale/Warning Pipe - 22mm fitting (only over 1000 litres) Note: The size of Connection Points will permit the inlet to be fitted above the overflow to conform to TYPE B airgaps on up to 2 inlets. Mains Cold Water Service

8. INTERSECT Micro Screened Overflow

Protector - available in various sizes [see page 5) which must relate to your choice of inlet size. Up to 1000 litres, telltale only. Over 1000 litres screened, overflow and telltale.

Keep Insects and Vermin Out Comply with the Byelaws Fit the New Patented...

THE DEWEY WATERS PATENTED MICRO SCREENED OVERFLOW PROTECTOR

A.
B.

This simple but effective idea is patented and the patent will be C. defended vigourously. INTERSECT is a reg. trademark.

Full faced flanges, (bolts and gaskets not supplied). Any debris is automatically washed into corners and does not block screen. (Which is why it works better fitted vertically.) Angle increases area of mesh by 2.5 times so that total area of minute holes exceeds pipe crass section.

.65 Micro-Mesh Screened Breather

0.65mm mesh. WRAS Approved Materials. Required by Water Regulations/Byelaws for tanks of over 1000 litres.

Incorporate in your overflow pipework to provide protection against insects and vermin-as Byelaws require. Fit vertically where possible and not immediately adjacent to tank overflow connection. Special mesh design means full free area equal to pipe cross section and is practically unblockable. Easily unbolted for cleaning. Full faced flanges table E (See Note). Sizes.
20mm 0.75 36mm 1.50 76mm 3 25mm 1 51mm 2 102mm 4 32mm 1.25 64mm 2.5 152mm 6 Larger sizes to order. Carriage free if ordered with tanks. 0.75 to 2 can be supplied with BSP female threads as opposed to flanges. Note: We do not supply hacking flanges because the INTERSECT unit is designed to fit into non-pressurised single overflow systems and normal bolts with washers (not supplied) are quite sufficient.

22mm "telltale"/warning pipe assembly - can be used as overflow on tanks under 1000 litres. .65 Micro-Mesh.
