A guilt-ridden well-to-do Dutch woman finds both purpose and pain when she becomes life coach to a Moroccan teenager. An introverted girl opens up in front of her mirror, dreams up a gun and dusk becomes darkness. In CREPUSCULE (the moment when dusk fades into night) darkness descends on a silent and beautiful girl. She enters the city closed and introverted. But alone in her room, she has no shame in front of the mirror. Working at a gas-station nobody seems to consider her. Yet an older man does notice her and therefore embodies a threat. The girl dreams up a gun, dusk becomes darkness, the jazzy music shifts into something more ominous and the city begins to ooze disquiet. A man is forced to face a very different Africa from that he was born into. After his wife dies suddenly life becomes hard for Eduard Zuiderwijk. A film about my mothers everlasting love for my father and the consequences of their migration from Turkey to the Netherlands. While visiting the village where my mother and father were born, I found a stack of old letters that contained love songs written from each to the other. These letters and songs reveal their passionate love, played out between Turkey and the Netherlands. One year in the life of a young Turkish teacher on his first job teaching in a Kurdish village. A fly-on-the wall documentary shot mainly in the classroom. When Emre arrives to teach in an impoverished Kurdish village, the total lack of running water is the least of his problems. The children do not speak Turkish and he cannot speak Kurdish. In 2006, the Dutch government gave way to pressure and legalised fox-hunting again. So what does this mean?
