Held a systems engineering role in an oil/water processing plant. • Responsible for resolving various pump failures due to insufficient NPSHa, incorrect pump sizing, and improper piping design. Issues were costing $100,000/year in repair/replacement costs in addition to downtime. • Increased scope of summer assignment from 1 project to 3 separate projects. Successfully resolved all issues while managing combined budget of $120,000 and directing 4 teams of business partners. • Learned about pump system design/maintenance and proper engineering practices behind system design.

Summer 2010 Infrastructure Engineering Intern

Led electrical engineering project. • Developed environmental monitoring for 60+ radio tower field sites that were experiencing power grid failure and providing no notification of operation on backup power. • Design and field-testing of new system completed on schedule, central appliance was brought online, and training was delivered to infrastructure engineering team. • Gained technical knowledge surrounding network/telecom communication systems, AC to DC rectifiers, DC to AC inverters, and battery systems.
