Objectives of the Course: This course aims to: 1. Describe the main functions of each layer in the OSI and TCP/IP model. 2. Describe the key protocols in the TCP/IP protocol stack. 3. Calculate IPv4 subnet information. 4. Describe the Ethernet standard. 5. Describe the common physical media used in data communication Course Outcomes At the end of this course, students should be able to: 1. Name and describe the functions of each layer in the OSI and TCP/IP model. 2. Name and describe the functions of key protocols in the TCP/IP protocol stack. 3. Calculate IPv4 subnet information. 4. Describe the characteristics and functions of the Ethernet standard. 5. Describe the characteristics of the physical media commonly used in data communication.
