Put another wast pipe in water Bbl in side the horse barn & put cover on the bbl. Settle Accts with Geo. Miller. Took horse and buggy to C.J. Deans for Chs to take down to Alvah. Saturday 2 Very pleasant & warm. Muddy. Chs Dean came home with sores & buggy about 8 this morn. Chored about home. Baked beans, roasted pork & c & c. Cleared up some by the horse barn & around & c & c.

Cloudy, stormed a little. At home all day. Minister from Cambridge preached Monday 4 Cloudy & stormed some in P.M. Very muddy. Chored about. Took up & cleaned out the bridge by old barn & replanked it. Filed saw for Mr. Picket.

Warm & stormy most the day, cleared off to night. Chored about house. Looked over papers & c. Put new planks in hog pen, he has broken through. Sent home watches to Ashland by Geo. Miller. Wednesday 6 Pleasant, Growing cold to night. Chored about making a door (out of old tank house door) for old barn under shed, havent got it done yet. Jos carried Rufus White to So. Wrentham this P.M.

Very cold & pleasant but windy. Chored about, worked on door at the barn some, sawed a little wood. Carried a Bbl apples to A. Everett & c & c. Friday 8 Very pleasant & cold. Got ready for & Albert Newell came & killed by hog, 340 lbs. He took dinner with me.

shoveled paths & chored about. Cut wood in the wood house & c & c. Cars an hour or more late. Cleared off to night. Sunday 10 Cold & blustering, clear in morn but cloudy part the day. At home all day choring about. Wrote to Uncle Nathan this eve. No meeting to day, very bad going.

Sat. Jan 9, 1886 Began to snow in the night & is a very driving & cold snow storm, drove all about. Cleared out snow,

Mon. Jan. 11, 1886 Very cold, cloudy part & pleasant part of day. Chored about - got sleigh down & carried 1/2 hog to

Clark & Mason Franklin, 171 lbs. Paid my taxes. Called & see Hancock about Elmers sleigh & c. Wrote to Elmer this eve. Thursday 14 Tuesday 12 0/12 or 15, very cold & pleasant. Chored about. Cut up & salted the 1/2 hog. Sold Herman 13 lbs fresh. Got the apples down cellar from the kitchen, about 20 bus good & poor. Cut up the lard this eve. Sold Elmers sleigh. 0/12 very cold & pleasant. Chored up some in horse barn & inside house. Sawed some wood & c & c. J. Green went to Franklin with the horse & sleigh & this eve Frank Bennet & wife have gone to Woonsocket.

Fri. Jan. 15, 1886 Wed. Jan 13, 1886 0/18 or 20, cold & pleasant. Tried out my lard, sawed a little wood & c & c. This eve make some sauce with a quince & some apples. 7 below 0 this eve before 9 oclock but is very clear and still. Very cold snow but very pleasant & windy. Chored up some in horse barn. Took up the beans & c & c Carried. F. Bennet & wife home. Isabel gave me a pair of mittens & mended my coat & c & c.

Saturday 16 Pleasant and Warm but cloudy most the day. Chilly but warm. Chored about house some, fixed in barn some. Cut some wood & c & c.

Very pleasant. Cool. Got cloths ready & carried over to Mrs. Greene to wash put back. Put bale on pale. Set glass in pantry window for new house & put it in & fixed the door & c & c. Made a chicken coop.

Sun. Jan. 17, 1886 Cloudy & warm but very pleasant most the day, thawed some. Alvah came home this P.M.. I carried him down to night with the sleigh.

Tues. Jan. 19, 1886 Snowed some in morning & rained most of P.M. Chored about, made a soup & cleaned out under the stairs in wood house & c & c.

Wednesday 20 20/0 very pleasant & thawed some. Was sick last night & this morning, had to get up several times. Chored about, got the sled & fixed, the shew & c & c. Cleaned up some in wood house. Thawed & stormed a little mist most the day. Chored about, cleaned up some in the cellar. Carried out the old pickles & c & c, made a little cider. Cleaned out a Bbl I brought home from J. Heatons yesterday, & c & c.

Sat. Jan. 23, 1886 Thurs. Jan. 21, 1886 Cloudy, stormy a little & tonight thawy. Sent a package of 5 watches to Elmer by Emma to Boston. Put the ribbons on the sled, sold a few apples to Miller. Went & moved F. Bennet to Franklin with sled. Brought chickens cradle & c. back to G. Greens. Pleasant & colder, windy. Chored about. sorted some apples, sawed a little wood. Carried Marianna to Abner Coates & back. Sunday 24 Cloudy & snowed a little most all day. Very cold, has not been more than 10 above 0 in 5 days. At home all day, Alvah came this A.M., went back about 4 P.M. Marianna had the Dr. this eve.

Wed. Jan. 27, 1886 Mon. Jan. 25, 1886 Cold & snowed a little most all day & does this eve. Chored about house some, got in & sawed up some wood. Made a little cider & c & c. Tuesday 26 Very pleasant & warm, picked over a few apples. Carried some to Geo Gotchell & to Mrs. C. F. Briggs, Called & see H. Bemis & to P. Corbets & to Nathan Arnolds. Is good sleighing but has thawed to day. Cloudy, stormed some this eve, rain or sleet. Made a little cider, picked over some apples & carried to Ms. C. Briggs this eve. Helped J. Connor 2 1/2 hs in the woods carting logs & c. Thursday 28 Stormy all day, trees covered with ice. Made some cider, cut some wood, husked some pop corn & c & c. Took up a ham & put in the others.

Sun. Jan. 31, 1886 Fri. Jan. 29, 1886 31/ 0, stormy, trees covered with ice & have been a day or 2. Finished husking my pop corn. Rats & mice ate it badly. 31 degrees above 0. Pleasant most the day, thaw some. Snow came quite deep last night. Alvah came home today & went back this P.M., have been at home all day. Monday Feb. 1 Saturday 30 Very pleasant and warm & most the day, but snowed hard this eve. Elmer came home this morn to stay till Tuesday. Have been in house considerable, baked beans & c & c. Pleasant morn, but cloudy most the day & snowed some. Colder to night. Chored about, helped in house some. Filed my saw & E filed one. Tacked my Rubber boots & c & c. Made 3 pies this eve.

Thurs. Feb. 4, 1886 Tues. Feb. 2, 1886 7 degrees above 0. Very pleasant & cold. Elmer went back to Ashland this morn. I chored about , went to the auction of J. Wright property & to Woonsocket & got some grain. Wednesday Feb. 3 Cloudy & cold. Snowed a little to night, chored about. Sawed a little wood, picked over & sold 4 1/2 bus apples to H. Fisher. 2 degrees above 0. Cloudy & snowed a little, been cold & blustering, about 4 degrees above 0, most the day. Sawed a little wood & c & c. Friday 5 10 degrees below 0. Very cold & pleasant. Chored about, made a little cider. Shoveled some snow, cleared in shop some & c & c.

Sat. Feb. 6, 1886 10 degrees below 0. Pleasant & cold, chored about. Helped P. Greene get a load of hay to his barn & c & c. Worked in house some, broke up & sold P. Greene a basket of 7-8 lbs coal. Sunday 7 Pleasant & cold, but warmer than a few days past. Thawed a little, at home all day.

Very pleasant & warmer, thawed some. P. Greene & E.D. Cook had the horse in A.M. to go to Woonsocket. I picked over some apples & this eve carried 3 bus to Mr. Wright & 2 to C. F. Briggs. Made some cider, sold & put up 6 bus potatoes to S. H. Barrett. Tuesday 9 Very pleasant & warm, thawy. Cleared out under the hay scale, fixed my sled to carry hay & went with a load of 970 lbs to H. Bemis. P. Greene helped load it, have engaged some to A. G. Gilmore.

Wed. Feb. 10, 1886 Mon. Feb. 8, 1886 Foggy morn, thawing but chilly, cloudy. Chored about A. G. Gilmore came & got a load of 1130 lbs

hay & I carried a load of 860 lbs to H. Bemis & this eve. Wrote to Uncle Nathan & to Elmer. Saturday 13 Thursday 11 Stormy rain most the day, thawy. Carted M. M. Daniels a load of 800 lbs. meadow hay & c in A. M. Worked in the house in P. M. clearing sawdust & c to get it ready for ice. Stormy & very thawy, foggy most the time. Rained very hard last night. * Water runs over the road at the pond & did at Canneys . The bridge has gone there so there is no passing there now. Stockbridges team, 2 horses are here to night. The RR has washed away in several places, no cars running.

Fri. Feb. 12, 1886 Stormy & thawy. Worked about house some, cleared out some & c from ditches & about to let the water off. Cut some wood or old stuff in shop & c & c. Carried Olive Miller home from cars. Sun. Feb. 14, 1886 Very pleasant & warn. Got up about 5 oclock &

took care of Stockbridges horses & c & c. This A.M. went up on the train that come along (with the officials) to the washout at Millriver Junction & came back on it. Stockbridges horses are here to night again. Monday 15 Very pleasant and warm, about 8 degrees this eve, wind blew very hard & it rained. Worked on the road or on the bridge by P. Canneys where it washed away.

Pleasant & growing cold, windy. Got up at 4 A.M. and fed A. Stockbridges horses, got pullies changed & c, ready & carried to the bridge by Canneys & worked there getting out stones & c & c. Today the first train went over the bridge about 4 P.M. P. Greene went to _?_ with horse today. The limited express let flag man off tonight _?_ _?_ went this way. Wednesday 17 Very pleasant and cold, chored about, made cider, sorted apples & carried 3 bus to Wright & 1 lb. _?_ to Mrs. C. Briggs. Called & see J. Newell. Went with Eddie Moses to see about fixing crossing by Brook Meadows.

Very pleasant & cold. Fixed cart & helped Eddie Moses cart stones from my lot to Dea . Whitings barn 3 3/4 hs where it washed out.

A. M. Helped Eddie Moses with the horses 2 1/2 hs, fix by the bridge, carted stones & c. Winnowed some beans, sawed some wood & c & c. Sunday 21 Pleasant, frost & cloudy most the day. Snowed a little this eve, cold at home all day. Alvah come home to day, went back tonight. Aaron went with him.

Friday 19 Very pleasant A.M. & cloudy part of P. M. & began to rain before night. Rains hard this eve. Took stones off of old wagon body. Fixed cart some more. Got some wood into the wood house. Took sharves & irons off the fore wheels to fix & c & c. Went & got some sour milk (or swill) at Hermons.

Mon. Feb. 22, 1886 Sat. Feb. 20, 1886 Cloudy or Squally most the day, a little snow in Pleasant, cold, but thawed some in the middle of the day. Went after Ed Moses to help get ice, he worked 8 hs & Wallace helped 4 1/2 hs., got up 150

cakes about 7 in. thick. I worked this eve tell 10 1/2 packing & c. Tuesday 23 Cloudy part & pleasant part the day , cool. Eddie Moses helped get ice 8 1/2 hs & Willie helped 3 hs got house most full, got 48 large cakes & 15 or 20 common ones to day. Jos sawed a little. Cars killed a pullet.

Thursday 25 Cloudy & began to snow before noon, turned to rain, rained hard to night. Worked in ice house, carted 2 load saw dust & cut & carted up 4 large cakes & 2 small ones. & put in ice house & covered with saw dust. House at the fullest it ever was.

Fri. Feb. 26, 1886 Wed. Feb. 24, 1886 Very cold & pleasant. Got 2 loads of ice 24 cakes. Willie helped load it , I packed it & got 3 loads of saw dust to put on it. Very stormy all day, very wind driven snow storm. Made a chicken soup & c & c. Made some cider, cut some wood in wood house & chored about. Saturday 27

Very windy, blustering & very cold. Worked in house most of A.M.. Made & put rockers on a cradle for M. Picket & chored about. Mr. ----- put a pair of taps on Pickets shoes here this eve.

Tues. Mar. 2, 1886 Sun. Feb. 28, 1886 Clear but very windy & very cold blustering. At home all day except called in at P. Greenes. Very windy & very cold all day, chored about. Went to H. Pecks & H.B. Millers & Dea Whitings & about getting things for the Turkey supper to night. Got in some wood & c & c. Wednesday 3 Cold & windy, cloudy most the day. Carried Abbie to the church & some dishes & c., from there to Dea Whitings & some to H.B. Millers & another lot to J. H. W. This P.M, went to Woonsocket and got a load of grain & a hat. Jeb Greene went with me.

Monday, Mar. 1 0 degrees. Very cold, very windy but clear. Went to Town Meeting & to H. Bemises & carried wagon _?_ to fix. Mrs. Greene went with me, I came back & see to cars _?_ & c. Water stopped running in tonight.

Sat. Mar,. 6, 1886 Thurs. Mar. 4, 1886 Very pleasant & warmer, but cold. Went to Franklin to bank, called & saw Alvah. Bought a cow from F. Kenney, but he backed out. This P.M., went to the auction of B. Cook & this eve called & saw A. J. Newell & to others. Friday 5 Pleasant part & cloudy part the day, cold but thawed some. Carried the pumpkins & squash out to the barn from back of chimney, they had frose. Sawed & split & got in some wood. Alvah came up to a party at H. B. Millers to night. Very pleasant but windy. Chored about house some, Winnowed the beans & got out & winnowed the pole beans & c & c.

Wed. Mar. 10, 1886 Mon. Mar. 8, 1886 Cloudy most the day & cool. Chored about and went to M. M. Daniels & traded for a cow & to B. H. Guilds to see him & to A. J. Gilmores & Town Meeting. Fred led the cow over to night, 875 lbs. Tuesday 9 Cloudy & snowed a little, cold & chilly. Went up to Hermons & paid him for the milk. Sawed & cut some wood, made a little cider & c & c. Pleasant & cool, chored about went to H. Bemises & got my wheels. Carried a load of 1025 lbs hay to M. M. Daniels & c & c. Mrs. Jos Clark came here, Put up a few potatoes & apples I sold her. Thursday 11 Very pleasant and cool, chored about home some. Carried a load of 1085 lbs hay to M. M. Daniels & went & got a old wagon or reack at A. Clarks for $2.50, drawed old tires & c for P. Greene 1 1/4 hr from R. R. to his wood pile.

Fri. Mar. 12, 1886 Cloudy, stormed some this P. M. Warmer but cool, chored about. Sorted & put up 5 bus potatoes for J.W. Clark & c & c. Made a soup this eve. Saturday 13 Cloudy, rained in P. M., snow tonight, warm. Chored about house, sorted apples & c & c. Carried potatoes 5 bus & apples 1 bus to J. W. Clark to night.

Sun. Mar. 12, 1886 Very pleasant & warm. Went to meeting in A. M., Rev. Moore preached. Alvah came home & went back to night. B. Guild came here. Monday 13 Very pleasant, warm, chored about. Went & started to water for Mr. Hopkins in his pump, it was frose in the well. Mr. ---- came to look out a trial report of R. R. tickets & c. Jos was gone & I helped there. Went to _?_ _?_ _?_ that eve Ella went with me.

Tues. Mar. 16, 1886 Foggy in morn & rained about 9 A.M. & cleared off again before noon & clouded up again. I worked most the day at Mr. Hopkins in house putting up curtains & c & c. Wednesday 17 J. Greene died Very pleasant & warm, chored about house. Fixed the ice house some, pounded my finger, put cows in yard. Drawed load of hay to horse barn for the cows & c & c. Went to Franklin & got Minnie & Frank Bennet, Jeb Greene died about 5 1/4 P. M. Very pleasant & warm, picked over some apples & carried 2 bus to Franklin 1 good & 1 specl to C. F. B. Got some things for Mrs. Greene, saw Mr. _?_ about plastering & c. Friday 19 Cloudy most the day, began to snow before P. M. Had the fore shoes set on the horse, carried 235 lbs hay to Peter McDonald & carried a box to Plainville to put Mr. Jeb Greene in.

Stormy all day, ground covered with snow. Chored about at home some. Helped out Jeb Greene's Funeral & took dinner there. The minister did not come, so Dea Whiting spoke & made a prayer. Sawed some wood this eve. Sunday 21 Stormed a little most all day. Went to meeting in A. M., Rev. Moore preached, went to meeting at Josephs in eve. John Hoag died to night.

hs fixing curtains & c & c. Carried Sarah & _?_ Metcalf to Bellingham depot. Tuesday 23 Pleasant & cool most the day. Chored about home, went up to ledge to look about there. Sawed some wood, make some cider & c & c.

Wed. Mar. 24, 1886 Mon. Mar. 22, 1886 Cloudy part & pleasant part the day, chilly wind. Chored about & went & helped Mrs. Hopkins 2 1/2 Pleasant & cold, chored about, cut some wood & c & c. Went to Franklin, Ella with me. See Folensky & others went & fixed pump for Hopkins & put up 2 curtains & c & c. Called & M. M. Daniels.

Saturday 27 Thursday 25 Cloudy & cold, chored about some. Went to Mrs. Hopkins & put up 2 window curtains & c. Went to A. J. Gilmores & traded for a heifor. A.J. Newell died at 2 oclock Cloudy & beginning to rain a little about 5 P. M. Worked for J. Canney after 10 A.M. in the woods loading & sawing up logs & c.

Sun. Mar. 28, 1886 Fri. Mar. 26, 1886 Pleasant & warmer but windy, put up some 1 1/2 bus apples & 3 of potatoes for Geo Hopkins & 2 of potatoes & 1 of apples I carried to Woonsocket this P.M. Cloudy part & very pleasant part the day. Went to the Funeral of A. J. Newell at 2 P. M. Called & see A. M. Bennetts fowls as I came home. Alvah at home to day. Wrote to Uncle Nathan this eve. Cloudy most the day, rains to night. Chored about home in A.M. Carted old tires 3 hs in P.M. up to Pickets.

Cloudy & damp rained some, chored about home. Denise Bemis moved to Franklin, Cunningham team moved the goods & I carried the folks & went & see Mr. Folinsky again.

Tues. Mar. 30, 1886 Cloudy & damp, rained quite hard part of A. M., helped load logs & c. 2 hrs for J. Canney. Carted a little hay for Mrs. Greene. Went to Franklin to see the Mason Folinsky, he was away, carted a load of 720 lbs of hay to A.P. Gilmore and got quite wet. Wednesday 31

Thurs. April 1, 1886 Cloudy part the day, cleared off before night. Went & got A. Greenberg in morn. He plastered up over the sink down stairs & patched up some. We whitewashed the rooms down there & c. I carried him home at noon. Carried Alvahs bicycle down in morn. Isabel helped this P.M. Uncle N & Mrs. Tilton came tonight. Friday 2

Very pleasant & cold. Chored about, put up a Bbl apples (russetts), & carried to J. Hancock & sorted & carried 5 bus potatoes to J. W. Clark, sorted & sold some to A.J. Gilmore.

Mon. April 5, 1886 Sat. April 3, 1886 Cloudy, snowed some most the day. Chored about, hooped & put handle on tub for Mrs. Picket. Cloudy most the day. Snowed & rained some. Chored about & made a little cider. Worked about new house some & c & c. See to some the trains & c & c. Tuesday 6 Very stormy. Chored about, cut & sawed wood in old shop & c & c. Sunday 4 Cloudy & cold most the day. Went to meeting in P.M., Rev Moore preached.

Fri. April 9, 1886 Wed. April 7, 1886 Hen set Cloudy & stormed a little. See to the male & c in morn, then helped load logs for Jos. most the day. P. Caneys team carted 5 load. Set a hen on 15 eggs. Abbie Dearys down stairs to night Fast Day Cloudy & chilly. Elmers trunk came this morn. on cars. He came as far as Franklin with the horse & stopped with George Getchell tonight & Willie came with the horse. I chored about, cut some wood, and made some cider & c & c. Thursday 8 Very pleasant. Elmer came this morn on the 9:00 train. I chored about house & c & c in A. M. Went to H. Hancocks auction in P.M. Saturday 10 Very pleasant & warm. Chored about house some. Churned, fixed the gate post & wall by house. Helped fix hay scales. Went to M. M. Daniels to night & traded him 15 loads of hay for a heifer.

Thurs. April 13, 1886 Sun. April 11, 1886 Very pleasant & cold. Went to meeting in A.M. & eve. Rev Moore preached. Alvah at home a while this P.M., had a number of callers. Monday 12 Cloudy part & pleasant part the day. Picked over & put up 3 bus apples & 4 bus Potatoes & carried to Woonsocket. Frank Bennet went with me. Cloudy most the day, stormed a little. Chored about house some. Carted 1 load of old ties to Mrs Greene & 3 up to the house for Mr. Carter. 2 load of hay to M.M. Daniels 1150 & 1090, got another cow off him. Wednesday 14 Cloudy part the day & very pleasant part the day. Elmer & I went to the Auction of D. J. Pickering, Elmer lost out his _?_ & I came back after it. I came home on foot to night, was a very large crowd there.

April 15, 1886 Very pleasant & warm, chored about, went to the Auction, A. D. Sargents stuff at 10 A.M. Friday 16 Cloudy part the day & pleasant part the day, chored about house, hoed the asparagus bed & the strawberries & c & helped about house some & c & c.

Sat. April 17, 1886 Cloudy most of A.M. & very pleasant P.M. Chored about house, Elmer was sick with a cold. Loaded & carried 950 lbs hay to A. P. Gilmore, got a pair of scales, harness, oil cloth & c of him. Put the seed & sleigh in old barn & helped get the last of Mr. Greens hay in & c & c, Sunday 18 Very pleasant & very warm. Went to meeting in A.M., Rev. Moore preached. Alvah came home, went back to night with Aaron &c.

Wed. April 21, 1886 Very pleasant & warm, chored about house some. Washed Elmers buggy, he went to Woonsocket. I set 2 posts & fixed for grape arbor by the house. Went to Hoags mill & got my lumber & c & c. Uncle Nathan & Mrs. T. went to conference with Jos to day. Thursday 22 Very pleasant & warm, chored about, went & got some sour milk off H.B. Miller. Worked on the grape arbor some & c & c. Elmer went to Boston & hasnt come home yet. Alvah came up this eve.

Mon. April 19, 1886 Very pleasant & very warm. Chored about house some, carried a load of 855 lbs hay to Dr. Nolans. Brought back a goat for Picket, cleared up in garden some & c & c. Traded heifer off for a harness this eve. Tuesday 20 Very pleasant & warm. Chored about house some, carried up a load of old ties & c. Went up & cut & brought home some poles to make posts for grape arbor for Jos. lot & c & c.

Fri. April 23, 1886 Very pleasant & warm. Went & harrowed with my horse side of Dea. Whitings for him, 3+. Took dinner there. This P.M. fixed fence around pasture & turned cows in. Worked on the grape arbor some & c & c.

Pleasant & colder, went to meeting in A.M., Rev. Moore preached. Alvah came home on train, and it run off the track & hurt his foot & leg.

Monday 26 Very pleasant & cold, chored about, washed Elmers buggy. Worked on grape arbor, went & fixed Hopkins pump.

Saturday 24 Cloudy & rained hard before night or about 4 & after. Chored about, got some glass down stairs & puttied up some. Got in some bark & c & c cut up. Set 2 posts for the other grape vine, cut & had asparagus for dinner.

Tues. April 27, 1886 Sun. April 25, 1886 Pleasant part the day & cloudy part. Began to rain about 6 1/2 A.M.. Chored about, fixed grape arbor.

Sorted some apples & carried to Woonsocket & got some oats, hay, seed & c & c this P.M. Churned in A.M. 2 lots about 8 lb. Wednesday 28 Cloudy & cooler. Ed Moses came with horse, harrowed & plow & worked for me 4 1/2 hs, harrowed the field back of house barn by pine & plowed the garden field this P.M. Fixed by the house _?_ beds & carried a load of 785 lb hay to M. M. Daniels.

Friday 30 Pleasant & cool in A.M. Chored about, sorted potatoes & apples & c. Went & fixed curtains for Mr. Hopkins this eve. Carried 2 bus. potatoes to _?_ Newell & 5 to J. W. Clark & 2 bus apples, & 1 bus apples to D. Sullivan & to ------.

This P.M. put up a few apples & potatoes & c & c. Pleasant & cool, sowed oats & grass seed back of horse barn & harrowed in most & carted a load of manure onto the garden piece. Sunday 2

Pleasant & cool , went to Franklin meeting & carried Uncle Nathan & Mrs. Tilton this eve. Carried Mrs. Tilton to the concert. Alvah up to day.

Pleasant & warm, chored about fixed the roll a little. Sowed the garden piece back of the horse barn to oats & grass seed & brushed & rolled it in. Set out a few strawberry plants. Elmer went to Franklin, Mrs. Tilton went to Richardsons with him. Ed Moses worked here this P.M.

Wed. May 5, 1886 Mon. May 3, 1886 Pleasant & cool now, Ed Moses worked for me to day, throwing over manure under horse barn & c & c. Chored about house some, soured the milk & c. Horse hoed the garden back of horse barn & brushed part of it & got out some strawberries, then made a new bush & c & c. Tuesday 4 Pleasant part the day, very warm, began to rain about 5 P.M., a thunder shower. Sorted & put up 2 1/2 bus apples & 1 of potatoes & carried to Wright at Franklin. Called at bank & to Boltons, Briggs, Sargeants & about. Uncle Nathan went with me, stopped at Uncle Richardsons till the hardest of the shower was over. Thursday 6

Pleasant & warm, chored about, sorted & carried 4 bus apples to Woonsocket, got a load of grain & c. Elmer went with me. Uncle Nathan sick today. Sold hen and 10 chickens for 1.75 to Mrs. Picket.

Fri. May 7, 1886 Pleasant & warm, chored about house, scimed milk & churned 2 lots of butter & c & c. Cut & trimmed out some cherry trees & apple trees & c back of horse barn, lower side the plowed lot & c. Elmer went to Franklin, made cider. Saturday 8 Very Stormy all day, chored about house some, worked up J. Greens acct. & went over to settle with Mrs. Green. Got pop corn out of chamber. Emma

Sun. May 9, 1886 Pleasant & cooler, went to meeting in A.M., Rev. Moore preached. Alvah come home last night, went back tonight but here today.

Monday 10 Very pleasant morn, but cloudy most the day & began to rain about 4 1/2 P.M. Ed Moses worked here 8 hs, we cut & got up the old apple trees back

of horse barn, got off a few stones, burned the brush & c & c.

Thurs. May 13, 1886 Tues. May 11, 1886 Stormy all day, chored about house, worked the butter. Weighted up some coal for Uncle Nathan, Made a little cider & c & c. Supper at the church this eve, am going after Mrs. T. Alvah up. Wednesday 12 Cloudy most the day but cleared off, very pleasant out. Ed Moses came with horse & we drawed up the apple tree buts up & plowed the piece back of horse barn by apple trees & the piece by Race Meadow 7 hrs, fixed wall in cow yard. Cloudy all day, chored about house, picked over apples, put up beets, made some cider & c & c. Have a stiff neck. Friday 14 Cloudy part & pleasant part the day. Put up some apples & turnips & carried to Woonsocket. Uncle Nathan went with me.

Mon. May 17, 1886 Sat. May 15, 1886 Cloudy most the day, damp this eve. Went with horse & harrowed 2 1/2 + hs at Dea. Whitings. Chored about home this P.M., Put a weather strip on the end door. Mr. Briggs came down stairs. Very pleasant & cool, skimmed milk and chored about house some. Gorman here to look at cows & c, J. Smith to look of tools in Barn. Sowed hay seed on the hungarian piece & harrowed it & brushed part of it. 2 men in barn to night, 1 with 5 fingers on each hand. Tuesday 18 Sunday 16 Stormy most of the A.M., but cleared off. At home all day, Alvah came home to day, went back tonight. Mr. Briggs went back to night with his _?_. Pleasant & cool morn, brushed grass seed in on Hungarian piece. Sowed the oats & grass seed on side Race Meadow lot & harrowed it in this eve. Picked some stones & c & c. Alvah & Henry Frost up this eve.

Wed. May 19, 1886 Cloudy part & pleasant part the day. Brushed the piece by Race Meadow. Went to Boston & see Chs. Mullen & others. Got casting & c & c, jammed my finger.

Fri. May 21, 1886 Fire Very pleasant, chored about house, cut & sold 3 lb asparagus. Worked plowing & harrowing 2 1/2 hs with horse for Dea. Whiting this A.M., helped put out fire on Jos lot, an hour or 2. Carted out manure & planted a few potatoes. Ed Moses helped 4 hs. Saturday 22 Pleasant & very warm, little shower this eve. Herman came down & we looked over some tools in old barn & J. Smith came & I sold him a lot. Ed Moses worked for me, helped plant & get manure on the garden.

Thursday 20 Bees swarmed Jersy cow Cloudy part the day, rolled the piece by Race Meadow & leveled it off. Harrowed & furrowed 6 rows back of horse barn. T. Bennet helped 1 1/2 hs , Bees swarmed. Plowed 4 hs for Dea. Whiting with horse. Elmer bought a horse, I went with Jersy cow.

Tues. May 25, 1886 Sun. May 23, 1886 Pleasant & very warm, went to meeting in A. M. carried Mrs. Tilton & we went as far as David Gilmores after meeting. Stormed most the day, chored about house some, cleared the cow stable so put the cows in there to night for first time in years. Cleaned up old shop some & worked on the harrow. Went to strawberry festival this eve. Wednesday 26 Monday 24 Bees Pleasant & warn, churned, furrowed a little, laid out 2 loads of manure. Bees swarmed, put them in Uncle Nathans hive. Sanger Crossman helped 1 1/2 hs & was here to dinner. Went to church & got Mrs. Tilton this eve. Cloudy most the day & cold. Chored about, went and got a load of manure at M. Daniels, fixed harrow & c & c.

Fire Cloudy part the day & stormed a little. Laid out 1 load of manure, planted some potatoes, Ohio & some sweet corn & a little pop corn & c & c. Elmer went to Woonsocket, *big fire at Franklin this morn.

Very pleasant & warm, chored about house in morn. Worked on Beehive of Uncle Nathans a long time, bees swarmed & I put them in it Eddie Moses worked for me this A.M. 6 3/4 hs, we laid out 3 loads of manure & covered it - potatoes-sweet corn& pop corn. Sunday 30 Very warm & pleasant, sprinkle from a shower this eve. Went to meeting this A.M. Rev. Moore preached. Elmer went to Franklin this P.M. about 5.

Friday 28 Pleasant & warm, laid out 1 load of manure, plowed & furrowed 2 1/2 hs for Mr. Hopkins. Went to North Bellingham with Elmer to see some cows, came home by Franklin & see the ruins of the fire, planted a little.

Very warn & pleasant, sorted & sold Allan Newell 3 bus potatoes. Mr. Bennet had the horse 1 1/4 hs to draw 2 loads of manure, then he helped me 5 1/2 hs draw manure, harrowed fields & planted beans & potatoes. We fixed mowing machine & mowed some this in front of old barn. Tuesday, June 1 Pleasant & very warm, laid out manure on Uncle Nathans garden & on the rest of mine, then & planted some peas, beans & c &. Planted Uncle Nathans garden & mowed some front of old barn. Raked some of it. Frank Bennet helped 9 hs, got 3 loads dirt into hog pen.

Cloudy part the day, F. Bennett worked 7 hs, Ed Moses came with horse & plowed top of Mine hill 3 hrs & _?_ 2 hs _?_ more to plow front of old barn. Planted some corn, sweet corn, some peas & some cucumbers seeds, mowed some & raked it, took down fence. Went to Bald Hill to see to cows. Thursday 3 Cloudy & stormed part the day, chored about house some, churned & c & c. Set out 27 cabbage plants, 23 tomato plants & sowed some cabbage & turnip seed some, mellons & c & c. Ed Moses came & plowed one round & went home for it rained.

Very pleasant, chored about, made a bee hive & hived the bees, small swarm. Ed Moses & F. Bennett plowed the piece top the hill 3 hs, I planted some melons, string bean poles & c & c. Elmer went to Woonsocket & got grain. Saturday 5 Very pleasant & warm. Opened and put in the hay in horse barn, planted the pole beans, and some others. Cleaned up the cellar some & c & c.

Pleasant & warm. Went to meeting in A.M., carried Mrs. Tilton, we rode up as far as A. Gilsons. Alvah at home to day.

Monday 7 Cloudy & damp towards night. Aaron Canney plowed the piece front of old barn 8 hs. F. Bennett helped plow, harrow & c. I got Ed Moses harrow & horse. Took out Dea. Whitings pump & bit home & Elmer new leathered it. He went to Plainville this morn.

Tues. June 8, 1886 Sun. June 6, 1886 Very pleasant, chored about house some, cleaned out under the privey & c & c. Planted a few potatoes, furrowed most the piece F. Bennetts helped in P.M. Bowmans train here to night.

Friday 1 Wednesday 9 Very warm & pleasant, rain this eve at 9 oclock. Worked in house some. Elmer went to Boston, F. Bennett went to Dea. Whitings & plowed for me with horse 6 hs. & sowed buck wheat, 1 hs & helped me, 2 hs. I planted some field corn, laid out 3 load manure. Very pleasant & warm, F. Bennett worked 7 hs, he mowed a piece for Jos 2 hs. with my horse & machine & we planted potatoes, Bell, W. _?_ & Ohio, on the piece front of old barn, harrowed some. I helped Frank cultivate some.

Sun. June 20, 1886 Fri. June 18, 1886 Cloudy part & pleasant part the day, coal tonight. Set out the remainder of cabbage plants & planted some potatoes. Helped F. Bennett cultivate 20 minutes. Saturday 19 Pleasant & warm, worked in house part the day & went to Woonsocket & to Franklin. I planted a few potatoes, Alvah come home tonight & Arthur & Walter Metcalf came with him. Mrs. Tilton came back to night. Pleasant & warm, went to meeting in A. M. with Mrs. Tilton. F. Bennett had the horse to gone to Woonsocket, was a fire there. Alvah, Arthur & Walter went back to night. Monday 21 Pleasant & warm , F. Bennett harrowed for me 5 hs. in A. M. & I helped him get in hay 1 1/4 hs. in P.M. I helped carry out lot of old stuff from the front hall & c. A. Gilmore came with stallion & served my mair.

Tues. June 22, 1886 Cloudy most the day & warm, set out a few cabbage plants. Fixed for & put Elmers & my horse together & F. Bennett worked 7 hs, bushed the piece top the hill with the 2 horses & we sowed the barley, Hungarian oats & hay seed, harrowed it in. Wednesday 23 Cloudy & stormed some, F. Bennett helped me 3 hs. cultivated some of the potatoes below horse barn & planted 1 pk fodder corn & c & c. I helped clean out the fire place & c down stairs. Fixed on a pole for mowing _?_ & c & c. Elmer went to Franklin & got horse.

Thurs. June 24, 1886 Isabel here Stormy most the day , went to meeting house to see about platform. Robinson is painting it. Went to H.B. Millers to have Isabel come to work here. Elmer is most sick with a bile. Made neck yoke for machine & c & c. Friday 25 Cloudy & damp, a little rain, F. Bennett worked 8 hs , We picked the stones & bushed & rolled & c, the piece top of mine hill. Fixed the fence & planted a little fodder corn.

Sat. June 26, 1886 Cloudy morn but pleasant most the day. Shower about 1 P.M., fixed machine & F. Bennet with Elmers & my horse mowed by the horse barn. Frank worked 6 hs & we planted some turnips & raked up the hay but it is green & wet. Sunday 27 Cloudy part & pleasant part the day, at home all day. Dr. Nolan came by to see Elmer. Alvah & Margo here today & lots of folks. Elmer kept the bed most the day.

Mon. June 28, 1886 Cloudy part & pleasant part the day, George Hopkins hoed for me 6 hrs. F. Bennett mowed with the horses 3 hs, the area by house & part of Race Meadow. Dr. Nolan & Martin came to see Elmer, hes better.

Tuesday 29 Very pleasant & F. Bennett worked mowed Race Meadow lot, beyond end the ditch with machine. Got 1 load in to horse barn, S. Crossman worked 5 hs.

Fri. July 2, 1886 Wed. June 30, 1886 Very pleasant & warm, F. Bennett worked, he with the horse mowed the piece beyond the swale front of old barn & we got in 4 loads to old barn from Race Meadow & to horse barn from house orchard. G. Hopkins helped 4 hs, S. Crossman 7 hs & Arthur Miller 4 1/2 hs. Thursday July 1 Very pleasant & warm, F. Bennett mowed the corner piece by ledge & by spring & the piece back of old shop with the horses. Got in 1 load to horse barn, S. Crossman helped 7 1/2 hs & Joseph after 2 1/2 P.M. in place of Arthur Miller. Pleasant & warm, mended or put iron on machine pole & F. Bennett mowed the orchard by old barn, we got in 4 load to old barn, Jos & Willie helped 1 hs & S. Crossman 5 + hs. Elmer Striped his buggy. Saturday 3 Very warm & pleasant, F. Bennett helped me 25 minutes cultivate back of horse barn. I opened & took care of the hay & mowed _?_ & side the road around new house & c. Jos & Willie helped put in 1 load to horse barn. Tues. July 6, 1886 Bees Swarmed Very warm, dry & pleasant, S. Crossman hoed some, F. Bennett had the horses to mow their graden, 4 hs. I helped rake it with the horse 1 1/4 hs. Went & got 2 bee hives off L. Fisher for 60 cts, bees swarmed, put them in one. Cut and made pole for machine & c & c. Wednesday 7 Very warm & pleasant, chored about some, cultivated back of horse barn. F. Bennett helped 1/2 hs., S. Crossman hoed, I helped F. Bennett get in his hay 3 1/2 hs, with horse.

Friday 9 Bees at Pecks Very warm & pleasant, F. Bennett mowed with horses in morn 3 hs & to night, 2 1/2 hs for Joseph. He helped me cultivate 1/2 hs, S. Crossman hoed 6 1/2 hs, I picked out potato bugs & hoed & c some. This eve. went &carried hive & moved & fixed bees & Mr. Pecks.

Gilmores with the horse, Walter Frost went with me.

Cloudy all day, F. Bennett mowed in Race Meadow. We got in the hay among the pines & run in the oats. We finished mowing the hill beyond the ditch. Thursday 15 Cloudy & stormed part the day, Arthur Miller helped me hoe. Got out & planted turnips & c & c. Settled with Ed Moses & F. Bennett.

Monday 19 Cow Dead Pleasant most the day, Arthur Miller helped me, we mowed part of Brook Meadow & opened & got in 4 load to old barn & 1 to horse barn. F. Bennett helped 3 1/2 hs, killed the heifer was so it couldnt get up.

Bennett helped most _?_ & Jos & Willie took away 1 load of it. F. Bennett went to Woonsocket with horse. I went to Frank Fosters tonight, his calf checked.

Very pleasant & warm, helped F. Bennett mow Mrs. Greens swales 3 hs & fixed my buggy wheel, fixed cradle for Mrs. Burnes, fixed mowing machine some & c & c. Elmer & Walter Frost come to night with Edmond Frosts horse. Friday 23 Cloudy part of A.M. & pleasant most the day, very warm. F. Bennett went with my machine horses & mowed for Jos on the S. Heaton place for 5 or 6 hs. I picked potato bugs & chored about . Went to Hermons & got _?_ fixed or mended Elmer & Walter went to Woonsocket. Alvah up & helped Frank get his _?_

Sunday 25 Cloudy most the day, Walter Frost went home about 1 P.M., Elmer went with him. I went up to Hermons & stopped to _?_ there.

Tuesday 27 Stormy most of the day & very warm, chored about, cleaned out the cellar some, picked some potato bugs & c & c. Elmer came home tonight.

Meadow by hand. F. Bennett helped 1 horse cultivate front of old barn 1/2 hour, Chs Bowen helped, he was here to dinner. I hoed some, Elmer gone to the picnic. Thursday 29 Very warm & pleasant most the day, but had a shower about 5 1/2 P.M. Spread, turned & got in the oats, George Miller helped me 6 hs, we hoed some & he helped me get in the oats. Elmer carried Chs Bowen to Lee Browns.

Saturday 31 Stormy A.M. & pleasant part of A.M., cleared out the sink drain pipe & the milk cellar & in P.M. George Miller helped me. In P.M., mowed & thinned out & set out turnips. We planted some seeds, F. Bennett went to Woonsocket with horse tonight.

Sun. Aug. 1, 1886 Friday July 30, 1886 Very heavy showers in the night & cloudy most the time to day. George Miller helped on weed turnips & helped hoe them. Elmer went to Woonsocket & got 3 bus grain. Very warm & pleasant most the day, clouded up before night, at home all day. Alvah at home today. Elmer went to Franklin, Bellingham & about to night.

Monday 2 Rained in night but pleasant most the day & warm, chored about. Helped some about the washing & c. In with Uncle Nathan some time, hearing what he had to say & do & c & c. Mowed some weeds, Frank Metcalf came this morn. Pleasant & cool, chored about, made shelf for sink down stairs. Picked a few apples (put up 1 1/2 bus). Elmer went to Franklin with Frank M. When he came home tonight, he went to R. Homess.

Finished the corn & potatoes for the first time & began on the cabbage again. Wednesday 4 Pleasant & warm, went to Woonsocket, got grain & c, carried 1 12 bus apples . Elmer went with me.

Thursday 12 Very warm & pleasant, chored about home in house some, picked some peas, Apples & c & c. Chs Bowen here this eve, went to Mr. Hopkins to fix his pump. Very warm & pleasant, chored about house, went to Mr. Hopkins & fixed pump & put up 2 curtains. Hoed & pulled weeds among the cabbage a while. Elmer carried Chs. Bowen off this A.M. Alvah got to Lake Pearl with the horse this eve. Saturday 14 Cloudy & rained very hard this noon, chored about house , pulled weeds.

Sun. Aug. 15, 1886 Pleasant & warm, Alvah home all day. Walter Frost here, he & Elmer went to Lake Pearl to night with the horse. Monday 16 Pleasant part & cloudy part the day, rains this eve. Mowed & pulled weeds on the Strawberry bed & c & c. Elmer & Walter went to So. Bellingham this P.M.

Tues. Aug. 17, 1886 Pleasant part & cloudy part the day. Elmer carried Walter Frost to Franklin to take the early train this P. M. Elmer & I fixed Dea W. pump. I picked a few apples, weed strawberries & c & c. Wednesday 18 Pleasant & warm, got some apples ready & went to Woonsocket 4 1/2 bus. Chored about home, Alvah & Talbut up to night.

Very pleasant, chored about house some, churned, worked on the old mowing machine putting it together & c & c. Went to Franklin & got Danl Mahoney & 9 others to night, called & see L.L. Tuesday 24 Pleasant & warm, fixed the roll, set the tire on it & put in some lugs. Worked on the mowing machine some & c & c. Cloudy, stormed a little, got in a few chips & c. Chored about, went & got my cow. Thursday 26 Pleasant & warm, chored about home, picked a few apples & 22 bus corn for Hopkins. Went to G. Hopkinses to fix or try the _?_ of water in the well. Elmer went to Franklin.

Fri. Aug. 27, 1886 Pleasant & very warm, chored about home, picked & sold some apples, cut up some sweet corn _?_ & c & c. Mowed a little, filled Elmers bed with straw, looked over some lumber & c & c. Saturday 28 Very warm & pleasant, skimmed milk, churned. Sold A. A. Newell some plank. Chored about house, got in some chips, mowed & got in some the swale by RR & chip yard & c & c.

Pleasant & very warm, Arthur & Walter Metcalf over here to day. Alvah come home all went back to night. Have been at home all day. Monday 30 Mrs. Greene married Very warm, cloudy part the day. Wednesday 15 Pleasant & warm, Geo & Arthur Miller worked for me, dug potatoes, finished back of horse barn & some front of old barn. Elmer went to Boston and about. Stormed most of the day, chored about house, cleaned out the pantry some, & fixed jars & c. Nettie put up 8 jars tomatoes for me & is making ketchup.

Friday 17 Cloudy & stormed a little, chored about home. Went & fixed curtains for Mrs. Hopkins, cleared the apples out of new house & washed the floor & c & c. S. Leasure had horse to go to Franklin.

Fri. Dec. 3, 1886 Very windy & cold, finished clearing ditch by old barn. Set the tank house stove up in Elmers chamber, fixed old barn some & c & c Saturday 4 Pleasant & cold, chored about house some. Loaded 4 loads of posts or 19 for Joseph, 4 1/2 hs, the wheel broke on first load.

Began to snow this morn & has been a very stormy day & is to night. Snow quite deep, have been at home all day. Several up stairs this eve, made some corn balls . Monday 6 Cloudy most the day, cold. Shoveled snow about the house, wood pile & c. Sawed & got in some wood & chored about & c & c. We cut the quinces this eve, got the sleigh out & Nettie carried a lady off.

Fri. Dec. 31, 1886 Wed. Dec. 29, 1886 Cloudy most the day & chilly, chored about some, sawed the old apple trees up. A. Miller helped 2 1/2 hs, fixed some more at old barn & c & c. Thursday 30 Snowed a little all day, cold. Chored about some, sawed some wood & c & c. Snowed a little all day, cold. Chored about, wrote to insurance agent, sawed some wood & c & c.

Saturday 1, 1887
Cloudy & stormed some, thawy, rained hard last night & this morn. Chored about, sorted & sold 4 bus apples. Carried 2 bus. turnips to Franklin. Called & paid tax, called at Burnses & Bemises Sunday 2 Pleasant but windy & cold. At home all day. Elmer went to Franklin with horse & sleigh.

Mon. Jan. 3, 1887 1 degree above zero. Very cold & pleasant, chored about, sorted potatoes in new house cellar & covered them. Split some wood & c & c. Tuesday 4 8 degrees below zero. Very cold & pleasant, chored about some. Went & got a load of Birch wood for S. Leasure 1 1/4 hs. Drawed 2 out of swamp, worked cleaning out ice house this eve & part of P.M. R. Cook got his apples & _?_ turnips & cabbage. Elmer went to Franklin this P.M. with horse & sleigh, got part the potatoes out from new house.

Wed. Jan. 5, 1887 Cloudy & cool but warmer, thawed some, began to snow this eve. Arthur Miller helped me get ice & Willie Wadsworth helped 3 1/2 hs. Arthur helped pack this eve, it is 1 ft thick, we got in 90 cakes. Thursday 6 Snow quite deep this morn & snowing turning to rain or mist & snow. Cleared off some. Arthur Miller helped me cut & get ice 7 1/2 hs, I packed it his eve

Fri. Jan. 7, 1887 Very pleasant & cold, sawed, carted & packed 32 cakes ice, filled my house. Elmer went to Franklin with sleigh this eve. F. Bennett has gone to Woonsocket with my team. Saturday 8 4 degrees below zero. Pleasant & cold, helped in the house some, cut apples & c . Went & got 2 load of saw dust, helped put up the stove at meeting house, carried flour & c up to Picket.

Sun. Jan. 9, 1887 0/4 Cold & cloudy, snowed a little, went & got a can of milk & Mr. Canney got some ice. Mr. Biggs & Mrs. Clifford down stairs. Monday 10 Cold & pleasant, carried Mr. Biggs to West Wrentham depot in morn & I went to B. Guiles & about, chored about & c & c. Tuesday 11 Cold & pleasant, chored about, trimmed some turnips, got the _?_ out. Carried Mrs. Fenton & boy to Blackstone.

Wed. Jan. 12, 1887 Chored about home, cleared off the hay scales & got ready & carried 850 lbs hay to Dr. Nolan. Thursday 13 Very pleasant & mild, chored about, carted a load of 830 lbs hay to R. Firanie, sorted a bus apples & carried to _?_ & c & c. Friday 14 Snowed & rained most all day, chored about house & barns & split some of the apple tree & c & c. Cut hash & pie meet this eve. Cloudy, snowed some, chored about house some. Split some wood & sawed some & c & c. F. Bennett had the horse & sleigh to go to Woonsocket. Walt & Minnie had a little girl this morn. Sunday 16 Pleasant & cool, went to meeting this A.M., Mr. Connors preached. I carried Abbie & him in A.M. This P.M., Elmer went to Franklin, Charlie Dean died this morn.

Stormy all day, snow & rain. Cut & split some wood & chored about. Tuesday 18 Very cold & windy, chored about. Stuart Newell killed my hog & Joseph & I helped about there & c & c. Wednesday 19 17 degrees below zero. Very cold & pleasant A.M, but cloudy P.M. Brought the potatoes over from new house in A.M., Chored about in P.M. Jos & Abbie had my sleight to go to the funeral of Charlie Dean.

Chored about, went & got a load of saw dust at steam mill & put on ice, looked after or _?_ _?_ this eve. Friday 21 Very pleasant & warm, chored about home. Saturday 22 Pleasant some, hailed some & looked like rain & warm in eve. Split last of old apple tree & some sleepers, got up 19 or 20, cut a lot. This eve carried a lady to Mr. Newells & c & c. Elmer went to Franklin.

Sun. Jan. 23, 1887 Very warm & pleasant, thawy. At home all day. Elmer went to Bellingham with horse & sleigh this P.M.

Monday 24 Rained & thawed most all day, some thunder but tonight at 10:30 is freezing & the stars are out. Chored about house & barns, cut up the hog, cleared snow & ice some & c & c. Had some leather taps on my rubber boots. Tuesday 25 Pleasant & thawed some, sawed some wood, salted the pork & c & c. Elmer went to Franklin.

4 degrees below zero. Very cold & pleasant, chored about. Sawed some wood & c & c. Carried F. Bennett & little girl over tonight Friday 28 Cloudy, thawy & rained a very little. Carted a load of hay down for S. Leasure, carted the husks & c to old barn from horse barn. Drawed old sleepers up from gravel pit. Look in CALLS for 29th. Sunday 6th Friday 4th Pleasant & cool. Sawed wood in the woodhouse & chored about. S. Lasure had the horse to go to Medway & about. Was gone all day. Saturday 5th Very pleasant & cool. Chored about home in A.M. Carried some vinegar to Isabel & to Mrs. C. Briggs & went to O. Pratts at Norfolk & got out well tools. Got some grain & c & c. Snowed a little in night & cloudy & warm today with a little rain. At home most the day. Carried Steve Maron & his things from the house home for him this eve. Monday 7th Cleared off & cut ice for M.M. Daniels & helped him load 31 cakes, 22 x 44 inches. Has been cloudy & snowed this P.M. Tuesday 8th Rained a little most the day. Cut 20 cakes of ice for M.M. Daniels. Split some wood & c & c.

very pleasant & thawy. Put new shew on the horse slead & carried a load of 625 lbs Meadow hay to Capt. Packard at Franklin. Elmer helped load it. I fixed some bags front of bees to shade them & c & c. Elmer went to Mr. Gales & to H. B. Hillers & went down with Alvah this P.M. & is going to stay & go to Boston from there in morn. Thursday 10th Pleasant & thawy. Chored about. Drawed home 107 old sleepers from J. Canneys pasture. Went & got 1 Bbl Potatoes for D. Mahoney.

Damp & stormed a little, warm & thawy, foggy. Chored about house some. Got ready & cooked the fresh pork, a lot of it as it would not keep. Saturday 12th Very pleasant & cool. Chored about house some. Cooked potatoes, pigs head & c for hens & fixed some under old barn & c & c. Sunday 13 Very pleasant & cold. Carried Mrs. Tilton to meeting & went after her & c & c.

Thursday 17th Pleasant & thawy. Chored about. Made iron for wagon shaft & c & c. Friday 18th Snowed most of A.M. & rained part P.M. & very hard this eve with thunder & lightning. Split & got in some old ties & c & c. Went to Dea. Whitings & fixed or thawed out his ciston pump this eve. We, E & I made a bee box & c & c.

Stormy most all day. snowed in night, rain to day. Chored about house. Mended my pants & c & c. Fixed scale & c & c. Wednesday 16th Very pleasant & warm. Chored about house in A.M. Went to Franklin in P.M. Elmer went with me.
