Welcome Prelude Opening of the Word Call to Worship Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. Opening Hymn: The Glory of These Forty Days Readings from the Word Exodus 17:8-13 John 12:32-36 Reading from the Heavenly Doctrines Arcana Clestia 1079
The Word of the Lord is of such a nature that the historicals are in their own series, while the spiritual things of the internal sense are in theirs; so that the former may be viewed by the external man, and the latter by the internal man, and that in this way there may be a correspondence between the two, namely, between the external man and the internal; and this by means of the Word, for the Word is the union of earth and heaven, as has been frequently shown. Thus in everyone who is in a holy state while reading the Word, there is a union of his external man which is on the earth, with his internal man which is in heaven.

Pastoral and Silent Prayer

The Lords Prayer Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, forever. Amen. Hymn: Book of Books Sermon Reading the Word Musical Interlude Offering Doxology To Jesus Christ be glory given By all on Earth and all in Heaven. Let His dominion wide extend. His glorious Kingdom have no end. Affirmation of Faith We worship the One God, the Lord the Savior Jesus Christ, Redeemer of the world, in whom is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; whose humanity is divine. He came into the world and took our nature upon him. He endured temptation, even to the Passion of the Cross. He overcame the hells, and so delivered all. Without this, no mortal could have been saved; and they are saved who believe in Him, and keep the commandments of His Word. This is His commandment; that we love one another, as he has loved us.
