T h e thousands of kites that are flying over Bali represent a hazard to both aviation and electrification. Kompas.com reports that on Wednesday, power in the Nusa Dua area of South Bali was knocked out by a large kites flying over the island that cut loose before shortcircuiting a high-voltage power line. The spokesman for the State Power Board (PLN) in Bali, Agung Mustika, said, the incident took place from 15.37 hours until 15:51 causing a power outage in the tourism area (Nusa Dua) that we were able to quickly remedy. Mustika said that the electrical

While Nusa Dua is served by two power lines supplying power from Denpasar, one of those lines is under repair meaning the line knocked by the errant kite out was the only remaining line providing power to the busy tourism area in Bali's south. Formal Appraisal Awaited in Process to Acquire Approximately 3,000 meters of Land Needed for Dewa Ruci Underpass Project in Bali.

In addition, 700 square meters of land at the Galeria Duty Free will be required for the roadway's completion. Private parcels owned by Cokorda Pemecutan (580 square meters) and A.A. Inmate wins payout for 'hurt feelings' from New Zealand government
A PRISONER who took offence when he found a government department had incorrectly listed him as having a domestic violence conviction has won a compensation payout for breach of privacy and hurt feelings.
The man, who has convictions for attacking a police officer, unlawful possession of firearms, aggravated robbery, theft, burglary and trying to escape from custody, complained to the Privacy Commissioner and then to the Human Rights Review Tribunal about a Ministry of Social Development's (MSD) file note, the New Zealand Herald reported. "I have never been convicted of domestic violence," he told MSD officials. "Indeed, the only violent offense I have ever been convicted of was for aggravated assault on a police constable." After hearing evidence the tribunal ruled the inmate's privacy had been breached, he had suffered emotional harm and that he was entitled to NZ$3,500 in compensation. Despite the ruling sparking outrage from police and lawmakers, MSD chief executive Peter Hughes said although he disagreed with the decision he would comply with the ruling.

Duchess of Cambridge Catherine Middleton's Golf Volkswagen on eBay for 20 times its value
Catherine famously received a parking ticket in 2003 and which she handed over to her younger brother James after her brief separation from William. Brazil, 21, bought the car from James in 2009 for $2127, not realising who had been the original owner until he saw the official documents. "I went to an auction house in Dorset a few weeks ago and they said it would be worth $45,589 plus, purely because of the name in the log book," he told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper of the Volkswagen. Apart from putting a new set of tyres on the car, Brazil said he has rarely used the car, only doing about 4022km during his ownership. "I became quite precious about it and wouldn't let anyone else drive it, even parking it in a locked garage away from the house in case anyone tried to nick it," he added. The successful bidder will get the car, all the official documents, and a pair of sterling silver cufflinks which were inside when Mr Brazil took delivery. The young entrepreneur said he didn't know who had originally owned the cufflinks.

BALI THE RIGHT WAY

G'day again folks and welcome to Balis most popular weekly newspaper for another week. It seems the weather has changed on the island for the better with the days being great for the holiday makers here for the school break. I happened to get up early the other day and spotted a mini bus taking a heap of people to some attraction that required a early morning pickup, and I wondered to myself what could possibly be so exciting that you would want to get up really early while on holidays and rush through breakfast, get the kids ready and head Aaliasj@kutaweekly.com away instead of laying by the pool sipping pina colada?? Anyways, I decided to speak with old mate Jack from Jacks Tour desk in the lobby at Kuta Town Houses to see what the latest and greatest place or attraction is on the island at the moment. With this he has launched into an almost surprised explanation of the many places that I once visited as a tourist but, seem to not even consider now. The fact that we live here aside and are hooked up in our own little world doing what we do, these places are still as popular as they were when I first started coming here. The old trusty favourites are still the white water rafting and the monkey forest in Ubud along with the Jet Ski riding at Nusa. It's been so long since I've taken a trip to any of the attractions on the island that a heap more have opened up. One that Mr Jack recommends is the Safari Park near Gianyar as an all round great day for the family. They have a small water park setup and have enough attractions to keep everyone happy for the whole day. Apparently it is one of the best days in Bali, they even have a small hotel that you can stay at overnight so you can see the wildlife from your balcony or see the lions feeding with you while you enjoy your breakfast (of course they are behind glass). I am told the baby elephant is a little ripper and was bread in Bali, so that's a great thing for the park to have achieved. It seems there are boat rides, fishing charters and even quad bike mountain rides that you can take now, so it seems as time has passed us by the choice for things to do while on holidays has gotten bigger for all and sundry. The Balinese do try very hard to make the island a great place for us to visit and live don't they?? If you are here on holidays and are looking for something to do with the missus or the family give old Jack a call and I m sure he will hook you up on a good deal. Tell him or his staff that you saw the advert in the Kuta Weekly and that should help with the negotiations. You can find Jacks tour desks advert on page this week..(see page 26 and voucher discount on page 33) Ok, that's about all I have to say this week apart from well done to the Gold Coast on the win last weekend and of course Karn the Mighty Pies. I hope you all stay safe, happy, healthy and above all else remember, The best way of forgetting how you think you feel is to concentrate on what you know you know, enjoy your week, ALIASJ..

Giant crop circle appears in field across the road from Stonehenge
Stonehenge is the most important prehistoric site in Britain, and a spate of crop circles nearby has only made it more mysterious.

Dutch to ban 'no toking' signs in Amsterdam where marijuana is banned

Signs prohibiting the smoking of marijuana in Amsterdam have been banned.
AFTER an only-in-the-Netherlands legal reverse, the city of Amsterdam says it will likely have to stub out the "no toking" signs it introduced in a crackdown on marijuana-smoking youth. The Dutch government's top legal adviser has ruled that the city had no right to establish official zones where smoking weed is banned, since it's already theoretically illegal in the Netherlands. In practice possession of small amounts is allowed and the drug is sold openly in designated shops. When the signs first went up in 2007 they were stolen so often the city started selling them itself as collectors' items. C i t y spokeswoman Iris Reshef conceded the overnight ruling likely means the signs must go, but the city can still fine young smokers who cause problems.

60 metre wide effort is just the most recent in a string of field phenomena in Wiltshire over the last few weeks. Stonehenge is the most important prehistoric monument in Britain. The design spans 200ft and has sparked debate about its origin. Online enthusiast Eliakis Joseph-Sophia believes the "three half moons in the crop...could indicate plans due to budgets in the third quarter." "The crop is the other side of the road from Stonehenge. So clearly, the people involved in this crop cannot reach the sacred stones." Cynics claim crop circles are the work of computer scientists and volunteers, but enthusiasts argue nights - particularly in Summer - aren't long enough for humans to get the work done by morning. Many believe crop circles are the work of aliens or a message from God, while others are convinced it's caused by the earth's magnetic field or targeted energy zapped to the ground from the ionosphere.

Anarchic Destruction of a Portion of Bali's I.B. Mantra Highway by Villagers of Pering, Blahbatuh Condemned b y P r o v i n c i a l Authorities. P r o v i n c i a l authorities are labelling the actions of townspeople from the village of Pering, Blahbatuh as brutal that saw around 500 villagers destroy concrete curbs and dividers on a section of the I.B. Mantra Bypass Highway in Bali. The incident occurred on Tuesday, when an estimated 500 villagers, dressed in traditional costumes, descended on the road with sledge hammers and other tools to demolish the median strip that they contended barred them direct access from their village to Saba Beach. In a tradition reminiscent of ancient traditional warfare on the island, the village's wooden kulkul was sounded at 6:30 am, summoning the village's men folk to descend on the four-way roadway where they blocked traffic while they destroyed the median divider. The villagers argue the road construction was done without first consulting the villagers, resulting in a barrier for religious processions that necessitated a detour of several hundred meters from their former direct path to the beach. While a zebra crossing had been built to facilitate crossings, villagers were demanding a four-way intersection and a traffic light. Villagers were also angered by road signs installed

Cuddling, caressing more important for men

Contrary to conventional wisdom, cuddling and caressing are more important to men than women in a long-term relationship, according to a new international study.
Researchers, who studied responses from adults in the United States, Brazil, Germany, Japan and Spain, also discovered that men were more likely to be happy in their relationship and that frequent kissing or cuddling was an accurate predictor of happiness for men. "I was a little surprised," said Julia Heiman, the director of Indiana University's Kinsey Institute, which conducted the study that will be published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior journal. "Some of the stereotypes we have are borne out of what we feel comfortable believing -- that men prefer sex, or women prefer intimacy over sex, for example," she added. The researchers examined more than 1,000 couples aged 40 to 70 from the five countries who had been together for an average of 25 years. Unlike men, women were happier as time went

"Possibly, women become more satisfied over time because their expectations change, or life changes with the children grown," Heiman said. "On the other hand, those who weren't so sexually happy might not be married so long." Japanese men and women were significantly happier in their relationships than Americans, who were more content than Brazilians and Spaniards. Japanese men in particular were more than twice as sexually satisfied in their relationships than other nationalities. "I honestly don't know why this is," Heiman said in an interview. "Japanese couples may interpret the survey questions slightly different. Maybe Americans interpret this in a much more critical way." Japanese and Brazilian women were also more likely than American women to be happy with their sex lives. "Americans are pretty notoriously not satisfied with things," Heiman said. "The United States is certainly not the happiest country when it comes to comparing it to others." Heiman said that the data may reflect the dynamics of a long-term relationship. "Maybe it's about durability. A major factor is how long you've been together. What you value as important may mean a lot more after the near-term.

Silence can be extremely unsettling or even, in certain circumstances, upsetting. It can even be used as a weapon. What you don't realise is that the silence about one particular situation which you regard as tactful, seems to others unfair, if not just plain cold. Difficult as discussing these matters are, you really must. Between now and the end of the month, you'll not only learn a lot, those facts will open up a whole new world of options to you. The problem is that you won't always recognise what arises as being even slightly illuminating. That being the case, explore absolutely everything that comes your way.

Taurus
There's no simple way to tell somebody who refuses to acknowledge that a dilemmas exists that they're actually part of the problem. But you can discuss potential solutions as if they were new, and completely unrelated, ideas. While this may seem dishonest, it's a superb way to get a conversation going.

Scorpio
Only days ago you'd have sworn you'd never consider making changes in fundamental elements of your life. Yet now you're not only doing that, you're discussing further dramatic alterations. While you may not undertake them all, the simple of exploring them is introducing a much needed sense of excitement and promise to your life.

Gemini
You've almost written off a once close relationship because the individual in question refused to acknowledge how much you cared about certain matters. Since then, however, you've realised you've little interest in certain things about which they're passionate. This hasn't just restored that alliance, it's provided valuable insights about several others as well.

Sagittarius
Unsettling as fortunate events can be, there's still no mistaking their promise. But you won't necessarily have recognised other amazing developments for what they are when they arose. In fact you're only now realising that in ending one cycle they were clearing the way for another, one that promises to be far more exciting.

Cancer
While there are a few situations in life that come with promises, most don't. What's more, some of those you're currently dealing with are a real gamble. Risky as they may some from one perspective, your instincts are still telling you that they're worth pursuing, and those instincts are exactly right.

Capricorn
Talking about your feelings isn't easy. Especially now, when you're so on edge. It's challenging enough, in fact, that when certain individuals asked if you were worried or upset, you denied it. If you can't be open about these with others, begin by acknowledging the extent and depth of those feelings to yourself.

Leo
As a fire sign, you're superb at dealing with situations that demand quick thinking and fast action. However, what you're currently facing requires patience. This means biding your time until either the actual circumstance change or insights tell you what's next. And those insights are unlikely to appear until late July's Leo New Moon.

KUTA CRUISES
FUN DAY OUT

From your perspective, leaving issues between you and others unresolved is no problem. But unfortunately, certain individuals are unaware of the concept of 'agreeing to disagree'. Since this would enable you to maintain differing views yet remain harmonious, it's worth making the effort required to acquaint them with this approach to conflicting views.

Virgo
You're being rather hard on yourself about dilemmas about which you had no responsibility. While you've talked things over with others, decisions were theirs to make. And they took only some of your advice and ignored the rest. Yet, still, you feel that somehow, you're responsible for what's been an unfortunate outcome.

Pisces

Little upsets you more than leaving matters at a loose end. While you're so organised enough that you're proud of what you do, with so much in transition at the moment, you've had to compromise. This isn't easy. Promise yourself that you'll tidy up the details later. But, for now, let things be.

Band escapes as stage collapses

Veteran U.S. band Cheap Trick escaped unharmed when a storm blew down much of the stage on which they were performing at a major rock concert in the Canadian capital Ottawa.
The band members were about 20 minutes into their set at the Ottawa Bluesfest when the storm suddenly swept over the area. The band left the stage seconds before a particularly strong gust destroyed most of the structure, pushing it back onto an adjacent road and away from the thousands of spectators, according to eyewitnesses. "It was just a freak situation," event organizer Mark Monahan said. He quoted paramedics as saying three people were injured, all of whom had left the hospital. Government officials are investigating the incident, which happened on the event's final night. crew are all lucky to be alive and we'll see you down the road," Cheap Trick's lead vocalist Robin Zander said on the band's website. Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson, who was present at the event, said he did not feel organizers could have prepared for the strength of the storm. "It's Mother Nature, really, and there are certain things you just can't plan for. ... We're very fortunate there was no one killed," .

'God Almighty!' shouted Mary Margaret. The Nun said, 'Very good' and continued teaching her class. A little later the Nun asked Mary Margaret, 'Who is our Lord and Saviour?' But Mary didn't stir from her slumber Once again, Johnny came to her rescue and stuck Mary Margaret in the butt with the pencil. 'Jesus Christ!!!' shouted Mary Margaret and the Nun once again said, 'Very good,' and Mary Margaret fell back asleep. The Nun asked her a third question...'What did Eve say to Adam after she had her twenty-third child?' Again, Johnny came to the rescue. This time Mary Margaret jumped up and shouted, 'If you stick that f***#@^ thing in me one more time, I'll break it in half!' The nun fainted.

Lucifer, Full Stop baby names rejected

Naming your new bundle of joy Lucifer has been effectively banned by New Zealand's names registrar after three parents had the odd request knocked back.
The country's Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages has been cracking down on mums and dads getting too creative with their children's names, ruling out punctuation marks such as . (Full Stop), * (Asterisk) and / (presumably "Slash"). The list of 102 names rejected in the past two years includes Baron, Bishop, Duke, General, Judge, Justice, King, Knight and Mr, all deemed too similar to titles. Messiah was also turned down, as was 89, and the single letters, C, D, I and T, although q and J were accepted after being queried. It appears to be a new hard line for the agency that made headlines around the world in 2008 when it was revealed to have approved a raft of strange monikers, among them Benson and Hedges, twins named after the cigarette brand, and Violence and Number 16 Bus Shelter, both for boys. One little girl was so traumatised by her name, Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii, that she had it legally changed at age nine. In accepting her name change in 2008, Family Court Judge Rob Murfitt said odd names had the ability to scar children as they grew up. "It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap," he said. At the time, the authority tried to defend its lax approach by pointing out it had rejected names including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Sex Fruit, Stallion and Twisty Poi, a staple food in Polynesian cuisine. Somehow Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii just "slipped through", as did Megatron, the name a 22-year-old student officially applied for after apparently taking too many drugs. Arrested on methamphetamine charges in 2008, several years after his name change, Megatron admitted to the court his moniker had made it hard to fly under the radar. (Only in NZ)

AFL denies double standards on bet cases

understand what happened in the Nick Collingwood's Tyson Goldsack was not Maxwell situation, where there were bets penalised despite his mother placing a bet on totalling $85 as a result of the disclosure of him being first goal-scorer. The AFL says North Melbourne president James Brayshaw showed a lack of understanding by accusing the league of double standards in its handling of betting cases. Brayshaw questioned why Collingwood skipper Nick Maxwell was penalised, but not young team-mate Tyson Goldsack, over separate episodes in which the players' family members laid bets on them. Collingwood president Eddie McGuire, while backing the AFL's call in both cases, also said the league hierarchy is "hairsplitting" and the distinction between the two is "ambiguous". But AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson maintained on Monday there is a clear-cut difference between the incidents. Maxwell was last week fined $5000, after family members - acting on inside information - bet on the Magpies' captain to kick the first goal in a match earlier this season. Goldsack's mum made the same bet on her son for last year's grand final replay and, unlike Maxwell's relatives, her punt paid off. North Melbourne president James Brayshaw has argued the two cases were "exactly the same" and, if anything, Goldsack's was more significant, because it involved a grand final and the bet succeeded. But Anderson disagrees. "I can only assume that James doesn't inside information, that's the key issue," Anderson told Melbourne's 3AW radio on Monday. "Inside information, we know, in sports around the world has been the gateway to serious forms of corruption. We're trying to cut it off at the pass. "In Tyson Goldsack's situation, his mum had a bet on him and I've spoken to investigators and there is no evidence of any disclosure of i n s i d e information." McGuire b a c k s Anderson's view, saying it is significant that Goldsack's advice to his mother to lay the bet was made jokingly, but he acknowledges the differences in the cases are subtle. "It is a bit ambiguous, if you like, but at the same time, I think it is quite clear," McGuire said on his Triple-M radio show. "In Maxy's case, he spoke to his family. They then took that inside information. He was going to be starting forward with the clear intention of sneaking a goal early. "Now Tyson Goldsack's situation, he started on the bench." McGuire said Maxwell paid the price for family members becoming a "little bit greedy", whereas in Goldsack's case, it was just "good fun". But he said players' relatives or friends should avoid football betting completely in future. "If you're a footballer and you bet on any situation in a game of football, you deserve to be slaughtered," he said. "But here's the other point. If you are genuinely a friend or a family member who loves somebody in your family, do not bet on the football - just don't do it."

Wild West gunslinger Billy the Kid was shot and killed in southern New Mexico 130 years ago, but state officials still can't seem to let him rest in peace.
Last year, then-Governor Bill Richardson made headlines by suggesting he might pardon the 19th-century outlaw, only to decide against it on his last day in office. This year, Richardson's successor, Governor Susana Martinez, has launched a statewide "manhunt" for the Kid in a campaign to boost tourism to the Land of Enchantment. The promotion offers a $10,000 grand prize reward to the search "posse" that first completes a prescribed series of challenges in a scavenger hunt-like contest to slap the Kid with a symbolic arrest warrant. The prize is based on the $500 reward posted for his capture in 1881 by New Mexico Territorial Governor Lew Wallace, adjusted for inflation. "Others may have considered pardoning Billy the Kid, but we're not letting him off the hook," Martinez said. Born Henry McCarty but known in New Mexico as William Bonney, the outlaw was shot to death at point-blank range by Lincoln County Sheriff Pat Garrett on July 14, 1881. The Kid was believed to be 21 or 22 at the time of this death. In weighing the pardon, Richardson said he was acting on a promise of amnesty Wallace was widely believed to have made in 1879 in return for the outlaw's grand jury testimony against three men accused of murder during the socalled Lincoln County War of 1878, a bloody conflict between cattle barons. The Kid was serving time for having killed then-Sheriff William

the ones who protected him from the white political system that was out to get him," Hutton said. The Kid was buried in the Old Fort Sumner military cemetery in southern New Mexico. His grave draws up to 20,000 visitors a year, said Don Sweet, who with his son runs the nearby Billy The Kid Museum in Fort Sumner. The museum claims to have the Kid's rifle, chaps and spurs, an original wanted poster, and locks of his hair." In a testament to the enduring interest in artifacts from his life, the only confirmed original photo of Billy the Kid was bought at auction in late June for $2.3 million, well above the expected sales price of $300,000 to $400,000. Martinez said the "Catch the Kid" promotion gives residents and tourists "a chance to interact with one of our state's most infamous historical characters." Given the governor's background as a prosecutor, it seems fitting that "her whole tack is we're going to bring him to justice," Hutton said. Those interested in the mythology and history of the outlaw will never let him rest in peace, Hutton said. "I think we're going to continue to exploit his bones as much as we possibly can," Hutton said.

AFL on collision course with agents

time, even if The AFL will press ahead with plans to set up its own player agent there is some conflict. "Of course it's system, despite admitting it will be a a conflict but I think conflict of interest. The AFL wants to establish a separate body to act on behalf of young players before they are drafted and can be approached by accredited agents. The move is likely to set the league on a collision course with the current player agents. AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou says there will be no issue with the league managing young players and trying to develop the game at the same

Brady at the height of that conflict and testified "at great risk to his personal safety" but never received a pardon, according to University of New Mexico historian Paul Hutton. The Kid eventually escaped from jail and killed two deputies in the process, becoming a highly wanted fugitive. Supporters of a pardon argued in a petition to Richardson that Wallace had reneged on his pardon offer. But public opinion polls found New Mexico residents divided on the issue. The descendants of Garrett and Wallace argued strenuously against it, insisting no pardon was ever proffered. The discussion remains fodder for Wild West enthusiasts the world over, particularly in New Mexico. A group of historians and fans -- including Garrett's granddaughter -- packed a small gallery space last week in New Mexico to celebrate the Kid's death and discuss his legacy in the arts. Newspapers already had turned the young gunslinger, reputed to have killed as many as 21 men, into a larger-than-life character by the time of his death in 1881. A book by Garrett transformed the Kid into a legendary figure of America's western frontier. Some 65 movies have been made about Billy the Kid, more than any other historical figure in U.S. history, including President Abraham Lincoln, Hutton said. "He was a very romantic character with a kind of Robin Hood theme," Hutton said, adding that he clashed with corrupt forces of authority in the territory and was said to be charming and great with women. He also was "a great friend" to Hispanics as "they were

people have got to be aware that there are legitimate times where conflicts of interest can occur, as long as they're managed properly, in accordance with good corporate governance," he said. "The sorts of things we're looking at is making sure we would set up an independent arm, perhaps even a separate company outside of the AFL that would behave and act in accordance with the player accreditation rules. "It would be given no more, no less information than the current player agents get. "As long as you manage those conflicts in accordance with proper corporate governance there's nothing wrong with that." Demetriou says there will be no pressure on young players to join the league's

proposed body or to stay with it once they are drafted. "I think the players have got a choice - they don't have to (sign with the AFL) no-one's forcing the players," he said. "At the end of the day the lads will make their own choice." Demetriou denies the league is trying to infiltrate player agents' domain because it is unhappy with their performance. "I don't think so, I think there are very reputable player agents out there ... I don't think this is about the current behaviour of player agents at all," he said.

McPharlin accepts reprimand

Fremantle key defender Luke McPharlin is free to play in Sunday's Derby against West Coast after submitting an early guilty plea to a rough conduct charge. McPharlin was handed a reprimand and 70.31 points towards his future record for an incident involving Sydney's Craig Bird during the opening quarter of last weekend's clash at the SCG. Adelaide's Andy Otten was also reprimanded and docked 60 points after pleading guilty to tripping Essendon's Stuart Crameri. Fremantle utility Adam McPhee ($2,100), team-mate Nick Lower and Sydney duo Shane Mumford and Ben McGlynn (all $1,200) were all fined for engaging in a melee during the third quarter of the match at the SCG. And Bird was slugged $900 after pleading guilty to making negligent contact with an umpire. The tribunal was not required to sit on Tuesday night.

Aphrodisiac lizards bad for health, say experts

traditional medicine for a s t h m a , A I D S , c a n c e r, tuberculosis and impotence. A health department statement said on Friday that the use of geckos as treatments has no scientific basis and could be dangerous because patients might not seek proper treatment for their diseases. "This is likely to aggravate their overall health and put them at greater risk," it added. Treatments for asthma are easily available and affordable, while there are antiviral drugs to control the progress of HIV, it added. Geckos are carnivorous, nocturnal reptiles from the family Gekkonidae that are found in warmer and tropical countries. They are known for their sticky footpads that allow them to climb vertical surfaces, including glass. Wildlife official Mundita d Lim said her office has asked law enforcers to look into the possibility that scammers may have infiltrated the trade because of the exorbitant prices being quoted online by buyers demanding geckos weighing at least 400g. She said geckos in the wild grow up to 200g. Those fattened in captivity can grow only up to 300g. Environment Secretary Ramon Paje earlier warned that collecting and trading geckos without permit can be punishable by up to four years in jail and a fine of up to 300,000 pesos ($AUD6456). He said a healthy population of geckos is needed to regulate pests and maintain the fragile ecosystem. Geckos feed on insects and worms. Larger species hunt small birds and rodents.

The Philippines has warned against using gecko lizards to treat AIDS and impotence, saying the folkloric practice in parts of Asia may put patients at risk.
Environmental officials have also expressed alarm about the growing trade in the wallclimbing lizards in the Philippines. A 300g gecko reportedly sells for at least $AUD1085 (50,000 pesos). Geckos are reportedly exported to Malaysia, China and South Korea, where they are used as aphrodisiacs and as

Dymock is hoping to inspire a much-needed win for the Dogs.
Canterbury caretaker coach Jim Dymock says he will look to shake things up when he names his line-up to face Parramatta at the Olympic stadium on Friday night. Thrust into the head coaching role the day before the Bulldogs went down to the Warriors in Auckland last Friday night, Dymock says he is looking forward to stamping his imprint on the side as he goes in search of his first win against the Eels. "We know we need a bit of a change in the team, so I'll have a look at the boys today and go through it with the coaches," Dymock said.

New South Wales Origin hooker Michael Ennis will also miss at least this week's match due to a neck injury, with scans later this week to determine his immediate playing future. "Losing (Keating) is a big loss, we've also lost Mick, but we've got a couple of good blokes who have been playing in the reggies (reserve grade)," Dymock said. "Josh Reynolds has had a go this year and also there's Joel Romelo - they're two blokes that have played a handful of games of first grade, I'm sure they'll be able to handle it."

Giteau dumped as Wallabies go full strength

On the outer: Giteau struggled against Samoa and has lost his spot in the side.
Test veteran Matt Giteau has been left out of Australia's side for the opening Tri-Nations Test against South Africa in Sydney on Saturday night, as coach Robbie Deans predictably brought back a long list of stars. Full-back Kurtley Beale and Reds halves duo Quade Cooper and Will Genia are three of seven changes to the starting line-up from the Wallabies' embarrassing 32-23 loss to Samoa. Giteau, who started at fly half against Samoa, has not even been selected on the bench with Pat McCabe and Adam AshleyCooper retained as the centre pairing and the Reds' Anthony Faingaa the only outside back on the bench. Deans said Giteau has a role in the squad heading towards the World Cup, but Genia) will click back into gear," Deans said. "They enjoy playing together and other players enjoy playing with them. "It all comes down to what we do. We've had that jolt, but you can't presume that we're going to better for that." Nathan Sharpe had to settle for a bench spot, despite a strong Super Rugby season, for the Western Force as Horwill returns to the Australian line-up after missing all of the last international season with injury. Horwill teams up with Simmons in the Wallabies second row for the first time after Simmons established himself there in the last two Tests of the tour to Europe late last year. The duo were key figures for the Reds during their charge to this year's Super Rugby title. South Africa has named three debutants in its side after bringing over an inexperienced squad for the matches against Australia and New Zealand.

admitted that role is still up the in air. Winger James O'Connor will take over kicking duties while influential flanker David Pocock, Reds skipper James Horwill and Queensland team-mate Rob Simmons all return to strengthen the back row. O'Connor was cleared after undergoing scans on Monday which showed no damage to the hamstring which troubled him last week. Deans is banking on the Reds halves pairing of Will Genia and Quade Cooper giving the Wallabies greater direction. "Hopefully (Cooper and

Out on top: Hall says he wants to be remembered as a Bulldogs player.
Barry Hall has announced he will bring an eventful 16-year senior career to a close at the end of this season and will happily refer to himself as a Western Bulldogs player for the rest of his life. The 34-year-old told a media conference on Tuesday he would see out the final season of his two-year contract despite his body "screaming out" to call it quits. Hall said he was more than happy with his decision, which he admitted he made around a month ago, and did not want to prolong his career with one-year contracts. Hall has played 283 matches - 88 for St Kilda, 162 for Sydney and 33 for the Western Bulldogs so far. A 2005 premiership player with Sydney, he is the first player to have kicked 100 goals for three different clubs and has kicked 715 in total to be 19th on the all-time list. Despite winning a flag with the Swans, Hall made it clear that when he looks back at his career he will call himself a Bulldogs player. "As a kid I barracked for the Bulldogs and it's funny how things happen. It all happens for a reason, whether they are good or bad," he said.

in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Hall paid tribute to the Bulldogs and coach Rodney Eade for taking a chance on him and handing him the opportunity to address some unfinished business. "I want to thank the footy club ... they gave me a chance when probably no other club would," he said. "They put their head on the chopping block, they had their knockers and doubters. "But they put a bit of faith in me that I could change my ways and do good for this football club and I'm glad it's all worked out." Hall said his departure from the Swans was a clear low point in his career but a spell with the Bulldogs means he will leave the game with a much different perception. "It didn't sit well when I resigned in Sydney, that's for sure," he said. "I didn't do it [come back to football] for selfish reasons, I thought I had a lot to offer still. "I wasn't blase about just wanting to play for any club, the fit had to be right. "The Bulldogs fit was good, it just felt right. "I think walking away from it, it has been a good partnership."

"There's always a huge amount of respect between Brisbane and Melbourne because of our past history and there's been some really good battles. "We're expecting a fairly hostile crowd down there and a really tough game." Broncos forward Josh McGuire escaped a charge after being reported for a high tackle on Greg Bird at the weekend. Prop Scott Anderson trained after missing the win over the Titans following an asthma attack leading up to the match, but captain Darren Lockyer was an absentee with a club official saying he was "crook". Meanwhile, young outside back Dale Copley could miss two or three weeks after being diagnosed with a high ankle sprain.

Broncs play down Storm clash

his way back into the Queensland State of Origin squad this season, says the Broncos have faced some big challenges already this season and tackling the Storm at AAMI Park will just be another test for them. "Melbourne are the benchmark of the competition. They're on top, so it will be a good game to see where we're at," Parker said. The Broncos put 20 points on the Gold Coast in the second half in their 30-10 win last Friday night, while the Storm flexed their muscle keeping the Raiders scoreless for the entire 80 minutes in their 26-0 victory at Canberra Stadium. "We're fairly honest here and we know there are some areas we still need to fix up,"

"I'm very proud of what I achieved [in Sydney], but you just move on from stuff. "The couple of years I've had at the Bulldogs have been really memorable for me and it's something that is fresh in the memory and will stick with me." D e s p i te h i s fa n ta s ti c exploits in front of goal, Hall will also be remembered just as much for his fierce competitiveness which boiled over at times resulting in a number of on-field indiscretions and suspensions. Most notable of those was his seven-week ban for striking West Coast's Brent Staker in 2008 that led to his retirement from the Swans in July that year. But after being picked up by the Bulldogs in the 2009 Draft, Hall curbed his aggressive ways and in 2010 kicked 80 goals and finished second in the Coleman Medal race, winning All-Australian selection for the first time since being honoured

Brisbane back rower Corey Parker has denied the Broncos' match with ladder leaders Melbourne on Friday will be the club's toughest challenge so far this season.

Lions tyro Luke Power says team-mate Jonathan Brown is more valuable on the pitch than on the treatment table.
No one doubts Jonathan Brown's courage, but Brisbane Lions teammate Luke Power reckons the time has come for his skipper to reconsider his brave style. But Power is not holding his breath. Brown is not expected to play again in 2011 after being booked for his second facial operation this season following a sickening head knock in Sunday's 29-point AFL loss to Geelong. He also missed six matches after having metal plates inserted into his cheekbone and eye socket following another horror collision in the opening round. While Power backed Brown to come back "bigger and better", the Lions veteran said it was time the skipper's playing style was addressed by coach Michael Voss. Power said Brown's courage was inspirational - but

give it away? He would probably be thinking about playing this week, knowing him. "That is something for him to look at ... but a leopard doesn't change its spots. "Once you have played one way your whole career it is pretty hard to change. "It is ingrained into him - he is a genuinely tough guy. Unfortunately this season it has probably got him into a bit of trouble." Power was reassured about his skipper's current plight by a quick chat with Brown's wife Kylie. "She says he is in good spirits," he said. "He's a pretty strong and vigilant guy - this will only be a minor setback for him. "I am sure he will come back bigger and better." Power could even crack a smile when the off-contract veteran midfielder was asked if he had played his last game with Brown. "Gees, that's a bit sombre," he laughed. "No, I don't think so.

Brown should reconsider style: Power

their captain was more useful on the footy field than on an operating table. "I am sure he will have one million people telling him how he should play the game. "But it is important that he is out there for us because we do miss him - he's a big loss." However, Power did not think Brown would - or could change his style at 29 years of age. Certainly Power was not volunteering to ask the giant forward to slow down. "Do you want to tell him?" Power said of the 195cm, 104kg powerhouse. "Are you going to tell him to

Done for the year ... James Gwilt hobbles off Docklands after the Saints' win over West Coast.
James Gwilt's AFL season is over after the St Kilda defender had scans on Sunday showing he had ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. "It is confirmed he has an ACL injury and he will require surgery," a club spokeswoman said on Sunday. The 82-game veteran, who played in St Kilda's losing grand final side against Collingwood last year, has not missed a game for the Saints in 2011 and is averaging 18.9 possessions. St Kilda scored its sixth win from eight matches when it beat West Coast at Docklands on Saturday night by 21 points. Gwilt finished the game on crutches and was consoled by

Brown missed six matches earlier this season with facial fractures. Fremantle coach Mark Harvey said he rated All-Australian ruckman Aaron Sandilands a 50-50 chance to return from a toe injury for next Sunday's derby with West Coast in Perth. "Roger (Hayden) would be the major concern. He got a direct knock to his leg, so we'll have to assess that situation tomorrow and get him scanned," Harvey said on Sunday. "But apart from that, we subbed Michael Johnson - he got a knee to his calf so I'd envisage he'd be OK." Harvey added ruckman Jon Griffin was sore after a tough battle with Sydney's Shane Mumford but was expected to play next week.

Wonaeamirri to return to Dees

Exciting forward Austin Wonaeamirri has regained his passion to play in the AFL, according to Demons coach Dean Bailey.
Bailey met the 22-yearold while in Darwin on the weekend for the win over Port Adelaide, and Wonaeamirri told him of his desire to build on his 31-match career. Wonaeamirri returned to the Tiwi Islands almost two months ago in the aftermath of the deaths of his father Matthew, and mentor and cousin Maurice Rioli. He will resume training with the club next week. "We spoke to Aussie in Darwin and he's certainly given us the indication he wants to come back," Bailey said. "The only thing that will stop it is if he doesn't get on that plane and doesn't arrive on Thursday. "As I stand here today Aussie wants to come back and place." Wonaeamirri will make his return to football in the VFL at affiliate Casey before being considered for senior selection. The Demons coach admitted he was surprised at Wonaeamirri's physical condition and did not rule out him making a return to the AFL ranks later this year. "I suppose you never say never," Bailey said. "He looked like he was in reasonable condition to be honest, so maybe he's done a little bit more training than he told us, hunting and fishing sounds like a pretty good pre-season." Meanwhile, the Demons will next face Hawthorn at the MCG on Sunday. Bailey says Jack Trengove was on crutches with a cork after the Port Adelaide match but was walking freely on Monday. Tom Scully also had a slight knee problem but is also expected to be cleared to play.

JT eyeing off finals return

North Queensland cocaptain Johnathan Thurston says he will be back in time for the finals series, despite initial hopes of a speedy recovery from a knee injury being shelved. Thurston injured his left knee in the State of Origin decider two weeks ago and had hoped he could be back in the game within a month. But he says he is having good and bad days and his rehabilitation will need the full six weeks. "It was a pretty ugly incident and heading towards the finals I don't want to come back earlier than expected and do more damage," Thurston said. Thurston says his treatment has been "a pain in the Thurston is using his time off the park to help encourage indigenous students to sign up for the Cowboy's innovative Learn Earn Legend! program. Thurston joined students from Ingham State High School on Tuesday in looking over the program, which helps students finish their secondary education and move into further study, training or employment. "It's great, it's what we need, indigenous kids getting a pathway into the workforce or school, so I'm the face of it and very proud to do so," he said.

Bailey believes the mercurial Wonaeamirri is now comfortable representing his Indigenous culture in Melbourne. "That was tested when he lost his father and also Maurice," he said. "Aussie wanted to go back and reconnect with his culture, after he did that he started to feel at ease and the desire to play (AFL) really started to take over. "He's in a pretty good
