Working Portfolio #2: Group Work
Working Portfolio #2
Working Portfolio #2 is centered in Group Work. This is not therapy; this is about learning to work,
write, organize, and generate projects in a collaborative fashion with one or two other colleagues.
By groups, I mean pairs or threes—no group should have more than three people. Similarly, I will
not designate groups; you must self-regulate and self-organize into healthy, balanced groups. Self-
discipline, self-control, and self-organization are vital skills. This portfolio is intended to develop
them as well as your writing.

WP #2 is worth 20% of your final grade.
I will issue the same exact grade to each member of the
group.
Choose your group members wisely.
You may NOT change group members after 9/18

Critical Due Dates:
Wed 9/17: SFD, 500 words, of Propaganda Analysis due
Mon 9/22: 2nd/Revised Draft, 750 words, of Propaganda Analysis due
Wed 9/24: SFD, 500 words, of Rhetorical Analysis due
Fri 9/26: SFD of group work letter due
Mon 10/6: WP #2 due IN CLASS

Working Portfolio #2 is due on Monday, October 6th within the first five minutes
of class. If it is after five minutes, then you will not get credit for the work that
you have done.

Your working portfolio will be scored in the following fashion:
ICWs: 2 points; Due on Monday, October 6th
Each individual must contribute 5 full pages of ICWs. Thus, if there are two group members, there
must be ten full pages of ICWs; if there are three members then there must be 15 full pages of
ICWs. If one person does not contribute their equal share—five full pages—the whole group gets
zero credit for this portion.

Group Work Letter: 3 points; Due on Monday, October 6th
Each group member must write up a full-block formatted business letter that is at least 300 words
long. In that business letter, which is addressed to me, they will discuss the major pro, the major
con, and the most important thing that they learned from working together in groups. If there are
two people, then there should be two letters; if there are three people, then there should be three
letters. If you are missing one letter, then you will get zero credit.

Propaganda Analysis: 5 points
Third draft: 4 full pages/1,000 words
Second draft: 3 full pages/750 words
SFD: 2 full pages/500 words
