Young Professionals: Texting, Tweeting, and Friending the Next Wave of Supply Chain Innovation
every generation of supply chain leaders brings with them unique skills and experiences. todays young professionals, including those just entering the workforce, are no exception. they are extreme multi-taskers. they prefer to communicate via text, chat, and social media platforms instead of e-mail. they are always connected, thanks to mobile devices, multiple sources of information, and relationship networks. they are more aware and informed about the environment than their predecessors. and the list goes on. how are young professionals leveraging these unique skills, experiences, and social media tools to innovate supply chain processes and create business value? What can current executives learn from this next generation of leaders, and vice versa? do managers need to adjust their selection criteria when hiring or promoting prospective leaders, and how can young professionals best demonstrate their value to them? how are technology vendors aligning their solutions to meet the needs and expectations of this new generation of users? this session will explore these questions and others with a select panel of young professionals and other stakeholders presenting their perspectives on this topic, as well as real world examples of how young professionals are already driving supply chain innovation at their companies.

Philadelphia was founded in 1682 by William Penn, an english Quaker. due to its excellent location on the atlantic coast and accessible port facilities, Philadelphia grew rapidly in the 18th century and flourished as the cultural center of the new World. Philadelphias history from 1774 to 1800 is linked to that of the american revolution and the young nation. as the colonies grew, Philadelphia became the center of their growing quest for freedom. at the state house, later renamed independence hall, the second continental congress met in 1775 and eventually drafted the declaration of independence. the sense of history is intoxicating as you walk along the cobblestone streets of old cityand so are Philadelphias vast array of cultural museums, eclectic restaurants, and electrifying nightlife venues. arrange to visit historic Philadelphia and much more at www.Philadelphiausa.travel.
