Define the BD process in manufacturing? Also explain the steady state analysis of BD process. A job shop comprises three identical machines and a certain number n of identical repair facilities. λ and µ are, respectively, the failure rate and repair rate for each machine, where it is assumed that the time to failure and the time to repair are both exponentially distributed. What is the utilization of each machine in the following in the following cases: (1) n=1, (2) n=2, (3) n=3? What will happen if n=0? Formulate the M/M/ ∞ queue as a Markov chain. Compute the performance measures for this queue assuming an arrival rate of λ and a service rate of µ for each server. How do you analyze the flexible machining center? AGVs, conveyors and robots are typical material handling devices in an AMS. Discuss what type of queuing models A/S/M/K/M describe their working best. Also identify the significance of the performance measures and the consequences of little’s result for these queues. For the Petri net given below, develop the D and D incidence matrices.
