FINAL EXAMS IN PHILOSOPHY OF MAN Instructions: Please answer the following questions the way you understand them

and as it applies to your life as human person. Answer comprehensively. 1. Why do guilt feelings sometimes accompany the loss of a loved one? Explain. Guilt is defined as is a cognitive or an emotional experience that occurs when a person realizes or believes²accurately or not²that he or she has violated a moral standard, and bears significant responsibility for that violation.[1] It is closely related to the concept of remorse. In psychology, Guilt is an affective state in which one experiences conflict at having done something that one believes one should not have done (or conversely, having not done something one believes one should have done). It gives rise to a feeling which does not go away easily, driven by ³conscience´ Now why is it that when we lose someone, there is always the accompanying feeling of guilt? In answering this, we should first delve into the reason why we feel sadness and remorse when we lose a love one? Are we crying for him/her or the bond and company that we will mess out of our lost loved one? For me, it is both. We are saddened by his/her department and at the same time because we will miss our loved one¶s presence. When we remember those times that we are together with our loved ones, this instance will really give us the feeling of loneliness and sadness. This is the time that guilt comes in. We feel guilty because for us, we haven¶t had enough of the company of our lost loved one. We still have many things to say and express. There is this feeling that we want time to backtrack so that we could express our unsaid feelings. We feel guilt because for us destiny was unfair. That we could have said or done something good to the person who have died but was too late. This is why there is guilt accompanying the death of a loved one. It is the weakness that the life event brings us that brings the guilt. The lesson here is that we should always seize the time being together with our loved ones. We should say and do what we have to say and do so that in the end, when we lose him/her, the feeling of guilt will diminish.
