Grade Book Setup: Weighting Assignment Types ________________________________________
Throughout the school year we have many ways of quantifying our students’ learning and effort including tests, quizzes, projects, homework, participation and much more. Many teachers choose to give varying weight to these different categories or “assignment types” in their Genesis Grade Book. These instructions will review the process for assigning weights, or “weighting”, your different assignment types. From your Grade Book page, go to the Grade Book link at the top of the page (1). When you hover over it, a menu will appear that includes Grade Book Setup (2). Click on Grade Book Setup.
First, let’s look at the “Class Name” above your assignment weighting table (3). You will notice that there is a drop-down menu. Choose the class for which you would like to setup the weighted grades. We will be able to apply the settings to other classes in a moment.
