Media Matters has named Tucker Carlson the 2022 Misinformer of the Year, a designation the organization has given out annually since 2005

to the most prolic purveyor of misinformation in the U.S. media. Our

senior fellow Matt Gertz explained

The title is more than well deserved: Carlson has demonized and thus endangered the LGBTQ community, elevated pro-Kremlin propaganda as Russia invaded Ukraine, spread conspiracy theories about January 6 as committee hearings took place, and undermined election results ahead of the 2022 midterms. And this is just some of the dangerous lies and propaganda he has platformed using his prime-time show on Fox News. This document details Carlson’s misinformation, the extent to which he

pushed it, and the deadly consequences of his racist and inammatory rhetoric.
