OUR ACTICIVITIES FETCH PARADISE OR HELL

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful

[And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then
produce a surah of the like thereof, and call your witnesses besides Allah I ye are truthful.
And if ye do it not – and ye can never do it – then guard yourselves against the fire prepared
for disbelievers, whose fuel is of men and stone.]

There are few points regarding these two verses which are good to know their answers. One of
them is that why did the prophet (May Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy
salutation) need a miracle? Or in other words why a prophet (May Allah shower blessings on him, we
salute him with a worthy salutation) had to bring a miracle? All the prophets starting from Adam to
the last prophet (May Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) presented
their miracles in order to answer the questions asked by the people. That’s why Allah Subhana-
Wa-Ta'aala made the Quran a miracle of prophet (. May Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him
with a worthy salutation). Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala is the one Who chooses a prophet. Before we
proceed ahead it is pertinent to discuss that why a prophet comes to a nation. He maintains a
government. He selects people to govern. But the government convened by the prophet is entirely
different from ours. We should not forget that Allah is sending the prophet. So the design of Allah
is beyond the ken of human wisdom. A prophet not only forms a government based on the
teachings of Islam but he also forms the character of the humanity based on Islam. This kind of
duty assigned to the prophet is of the prime importance. Otherwise a prophet may bring no profit
to the human beings. It is predetermined. So the

teachings of a prophet are directly from Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. There is not additional add
from the prophet. He is responsible for the body of the government and the forging of noble deeds.
These deeds are to take up the sheets of the questions asked on the Day of Judgment. This is the
miracle of the prophet that he comes with a book consisting of divine design.
2. The main reason to be miraculous for a prophet - since people are skeptical in their mental
approach in order to accept a viewpoint of life delivered to them by the prophet taken directly from
Allah. Some people come and require having a sound proof. Because people want to have a proof
that either they are being told to go on right path or one wrong path. And that’s why Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala whenever He sends the prophet with miracle in order to prove that what he is
talking about that is all from Allah. And we say miracle, in Arabic it means Al maujiza. The word
Maujiza in Arabic comes from the word Ajal. Ajal means that something that people can not do.
Al Maujiza means that only prophet can do that. Ordinary human being is entirely unable to do
that. And the holy Quran tells us about the miracles of prophet (May Allah shower blessings on
him, we salute him with a worthy salutation). When Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala revealed the holy
Quran, Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala challenges other people in order to prove that if they have
anything superior to the codes of the holy Quran they should bring. Most people who came to
claim that they are messengers or prophets or they were sent by Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala, they
did not have any proof with them that they are from Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala. They could
produce nothing to the mankind to convince them that they were really sent to them by the Creator.
The holy Quran invites such people to come forward and to prove that this heavenly book is from
Allah or not. One of the these verses in which Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says

that the Jinn and human beings will gather

together in order to bring or produce like the holy Quran, Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says

they can't. even if they seek support of each other (despite

the fact), they can't. Also Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala challenges the people that who think the holy
Quran was written by the prophet Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says they don't say that
it was written or brought by the prophet (May Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him with a
worthy salutation). And He says Muhammad tells them. And even the word Kul that Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala uses in this verse indicating that there is a power behind that commands the
prophet to say that holy Quran is not the craft of Muhammad. He does not to say Kul that this is
why we need all this Kul we need those in the
holy Quran. Because Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is talking to the prophet (May Allah shower
blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) and the prophet is no longer alive in us.
Those people who did not understand the reality of the holy Quran and they do not know what the
holy Quran is about because these Kul or each one in the Quran is there to serve a purpose and Kul
is also there to serve a purpose. One of the purposes the serve is that to indicate and to prove that
the Quran is not the craft of Muhammad. There is a Supreme Being behind the prophet (May Allah
shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) who gets the directives and
commands from Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala to say and preach to

the mankind. That is why the Quran says that oh Muhammad tell them that if they
believe that the Quran is not from Allah then bring ten chapters. Also the Quran says

bring at least ten chapters something similar to the holy Quran. And then He

says call whoever you want besides Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala - human being,
animal, Jinn whoever call them to prove that the holy Quran is not from Allah. besides

Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala. provided you are true (in your claim). Allah means

'provided'. Then after this Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala answers Himself Oh

Muhammad if they did not bring ten chapters (in their support and proof) No. And then
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala here is talking in general after he as talked to the Prophet (May Allah
shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) in the beginning

Muhammad and believers No. that this Quran was revealed with the knowledge of
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala.
3 Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala made Muhammad read and write (because Muhammad did not
attend any academic institution to learn the reading and writing. That's why Muhammad (May
Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) is called . It was
all the design of Allah to make the people believe that the holy Quran is not the craft of
Muhammad but Allah's. Because they knew that their prophet (May Allah shower blessings on
him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) was unable to read or write like them. And he did not
go to any institution in his life. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says yes they say that
Muhammad (May Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) is the
one who has not made this Quran. He says Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says
about ten chapters. Then Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says OK if ten chapters are too much for
them then Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says just bring one chapter. And then He says

you are allowed to go anywhere in order to seek the support to make the holy

Quran-like. But besides Allah provided you are true (in your claim).
When they were not able to provide even one chapter similar to the holy Quran then Allah said

here Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala answered Himself if they did not

respond .
Therefore, it is proved that this holy Quran is from Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala and it was directly
revealed upon the heart of Muhammad. The holy Quran is not the written craft of any person or the
prophet.

Keeping the view the important of the Quran, Allah says in Surah 2 - verse 24 (The Cow)

(And give glad tidings to those who accepted faith and did good deeds, that for them there are
gardens under which flow streams. Whenever they would be provided with a fruit to eat, they
would say seeing its shape this is the same substance which we got before and that was given to
them resembling in shape, and for them there are pure mates and therein they will abide forever.)
Here Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is talking to Muhammad (PBUH) you notice
here one word - it is from . It means good news/glad tiding. Allah Subhana-
Wa-Ta’aala asks His messenger to give a glad tiding to the people, who are believers
.The holy Quran emphasizes about two things, first is 'glad tiding' and second is the 'warning' when
a man follows a wrong path. It is very important. When Quran talks to the prophet he talks to him
in the way that it gives glad tiding and also warning. Because if you take only glad tiding and give
no attention to the warning, you may be misguided or you may go in a wrong direction. Because it
is a psychologically proven fact that warning keeps the man on the path which leads him to the
paradise like environment. The warning with glad tiding keeps us towards the construction, it
keeps us away from doing the destruction. So the Quran has adapted this modus operandi. Glad
tiding is the effort and encouragement to the destination that Adam needs to have. And the
warning is a precautionary measure to make Adam feel an urge to try to be a perfectionist.
Even for our children this strategy is very important. That a child who follows the dictum feels to
be praised by someone. He needs to be given a happy news, good news, and glad tiding of great
joy. And on the contrary, children who disobey- need to be warned and penalized. That's why
Ameer al-Mu'mineen Imam Ali (AS) says do not ever make
the good person and the bad person to be equal. There should be a great and visible difference in
this regard. That a man who follows the commands of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala and whereas
other man who disobeys or stays away from the commands of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala. You
have to make and maintain the difference between these two personalities. They are not equal in
their status. There are great rewards from Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala for the believers and there
are infernal fires from Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta'aala for the people who disbelieve the prophet (May
Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) and the holy Quran.
Allah mentions the holy Quran and they did/performed/administered good deeds/
pious maneuvers. Believers are known and regarded by their noble actions what they do before
others. There are glad tidings for them. At the beginning and at the end of the holy Quran
is found in the same meanings abundantly. Because
the prophet (May Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy
salutation) said that if somebody has Iman without doing practical demonstration, it is like a tree
which does not grow fruits. So would you like

By
Shaikh Jalilu Issah

to grow or to have a tree without its fruits? Certainly not. So here it proves that practical actions in
the form of demonstration is very important to show that you have firm belief in your heart.
Because just having belief produces no result.
For the people who believed in Allah and His holy book Allah gave them happy and glad tiding by

saying after this life undoubtedly they will be the guardians of the gardens. We have
and we have . is one garden. is plural. There are some verses that Allah

Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has mentioned that some believers they have one garden. And at
some other places some people may get two paradises. That's why Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said
that those who fear the position of their Lord they will be given two
paradises. So Allah is saying that the believers will not have only one paradise for their reward
they will be having more than one paradise. Allah gives abundantly. Allah bequeaths profoundly.
Allah showers plethora of His blessings on the believers. That's why He uses plural most of the
time. On the Day of Judgment believers will be given rewards in plural. In Arabic when you put a
word without it means to particularize a thing or a superlative characteristic. That thing
becomes so important. It is all beyond description. Allah puts without Alif or Laam in order
to tell us that that paradise is beyond description.
And if you want to know what will be in the paradise, according to the prophet (May Allah
shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) the description is being given that
' anything that you can imagine, anything you can see with your eyes, the prophet said
in that paradise there are things that eyes never saw before - in that
paradise there is something that you never had and thought about, not even it
can come into the human heart. So this is the description of paradise. Now there is one question
that comes in our mind that the paradise created is waiting for the believers? Or will it be created
in the future? Some scholars say that paradise has already been made and waiting for us. And some
rebut this idea. The paradise will be built on the Day of Judgment. And the same thing applies
when we discuss the entity of hell. There are some verses in the holy Quran they indicate that
paradise has already been built. Allah also describes that how big is the paradise
the paradise is between the heaven and earth. These verses prove that
paradise has already been built. But one thing too much important we should not forget that we are
to build that paradise with our own actions, then we will be righteous people to enter the paradise.
Our actions are the paradise - our actions are the fires of hell. One of the proofs is that when our
prophet (May Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him with a worthy salutation) went to the
heaven. He saw there some angles they were building and were not putting blocks on one each
other continuously they would put one block and then wait. Then would another block and again
wait. On this the prophet asked Gabriel that why they were doing in such way? He told to prophet
that actually the angles were building the paradise for the believers. When believers do some good
deed they put block,
OUR ACTICIVITIES FETCH PARADISE OR HELL
By
Shaikh Jalilu Issah

and when the believers say , they put the block, and when the believers say they
put one more block on the previous one. And it was the procedure of the building the paradise.
Then the prophet came back to earth he told all the procedure to his companions that how the
paradise is built for the believers. One of his companions said that OK if one time, it is a

block and if I say 33 times five times in a day means that I have numberless
houses in paradise. Then the prophet (May Allah shower blessings on him, we salute him with a
worthy salutation) said yes. He says there is one condition that if you did not
destroy those houses.
If you have to make house it requires having a lot of efforts, energy and money. And if you bring
one bomb and put it in the house that took a long time for the construction, it will blast your efforts
in just few seconds. The same thing happens with out actions. Just one bad action demolishes the
paradise of us within a moment. Allah says in Surah Nisa

those who eat the money or orphans/the right of orphans,

Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says indeed they eat the fire. Allah Subhana-

Wa-Ta'aala says the only thing they eat is that, they eat the fire. This
clearly indicates that what we see is different. We are unable to judge that actually our actions are
taking us near to the fires of hell. Things look to us very bright and we get the pride as if we have
achieved something great. But actually in the scale of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala there is nothing
for us. Our actions are weighed in the scale of requital, which brings us the result, what we do
according to its match. So we are destroying our own paradise and changing in into hellish dome.
And to dwell in a hellish environment is not the destination of Adam. Adam has to built it lost-
paradise. The Salaat or Zakat or Khums what we pay, our these practical demonstrative actions in
the society of human beings make us qualify the status of having paradise. Otherwise we are going
to get the worst possible share of our inappropriate deeds.
The internal of our actions done with the niyyah of paradise will give us the glad tiding of the
paradise. So according to some our Ulemas - we are to build the paradise. The paradise which
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala already built for us. Our actions will bring us that paradise or our
actions will give us the fires of hell. That's why in one of the hadith it is mentioned that when a
man as soon as gets to his grave, the grave itself speaks to the man I
am the part of a heaven if you brought heaven with you. I am also the house of fire if you brought
it with you.
The bottom-line is this; we are to build the paradise or we are to build the fires of hell by virtue of
our deeds.

Further will be discussed in next lecture Inshallah!
