Lesson Goal: Students will increase their knowledge about future plans or events (Travel and Adventure)

2.Objectives Terminal lesson objectives: 1. Students will successfully talk about their plans for their future holidays. Enabling objectives: 1. Students will make choices about their ideal plans for their holidays 3. Students will produce appropiate statements using going to to describe future activities. 4. Lesson Plan (English as a Second language) Level: Beginners Skills: Reading-Writing Elements: Grammar-Vocabulary Time: 20 Minutes 1. Lesson Goal: Students will know how to express the present to describe their likes, dislikes, habits and daily routines.

2. Objectives Terminal lesson objectives: 1. Students will successfully read about the present, habits, and routines. 2. Students will successfully write about the present, their habits, routines and states. Enabling objectives: a. Students will practice, comprehend and produce necessary vocabulary for this topic. b. Students will identify habits, routines, states with the Present Simple while reading short texts. c. Students will read and analyze a short text through different activities to check comprehension. d. Students will write statements using appropriate verb forms to describe present. (Grammar activity) e. Students will write a short 6 lines-letter to an imaginary pen-pal telling him/her a little about his/her life. (Their routines, habits, like and dislikes etc.) f. As homework students will write a short description of a famous person and his/her habits, likes or dislikes.

Greetings. Introduce students to the topic Present Tense.Talk with the students about routines, habits, states, etc) We use the present to talk about routines, habits or states. 2. ACTIVITY 1 (Presentation): Reading about people habits and routines At the presentation stage learners will read a short text an will focus on the present verb forms and on the way to express routines and habits with the present tense. walkman. She doesnt have a lot of CDs because they are expensive She borrows them from her friends. She goes to the cinema very often. She also likes to go to the disco. She loves dancing too. JOHN I dont have a lot of free time because I study a lot at the school, I like playing chess and play with my dad but he usually bits me because hes very good. I sometimes play tournaments at school. I enjoy working with my computer, during breaktime I go to the computer and look for interesting websites. Im not very keen on sports or music, the cinema is ok. I like science fiction films. 3. CHECKING READING COMPREHENSION Students will have to organize the questions and answer them taking turns with their classmates for reading comprehension 1. They will work individualy. At the end of the exercise the teacher will discuss with the students the answers and will clarify some doubts that could possibly arrive in the process . Now write a short (6 lines) post-card to an imaginary pen-pal telling him/her a little about you. What do you do during the day or whole week? What are your habits, hobbies? What do you like or dislike?...

5. Extra-Classwork assignment
Students write as extra-classwork assignment a short description about a famous person they choose in present tense. Repeating task is good practice.

Terminal objective (2) and enabling objective (6) are evaluated with the post-card and extra-class assignment. (The present, vocabulary, functions, etc)
