2. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EYE CONTACT: causes serious irritation and possibly damage to the cornea.
SKÌN CONTACT: causes reddening and pain. May cause burns. ÌNGESTÌON:
harmful if swallowed. ÌNHALATÌON: irritating to the respiratory system with
coughing, hoarse throat. May in high concentrations give pulmonary oedema.
3. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS
See section 16 for expIanations to R-phrases
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
InhaIation Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. Perform artificial respiration if
breathing has stopped. When unconscious, loosen tight clothing and position in
secured recovery position. To hospital or physician.
Ingestion NEVER MAKE AN UNCONSCÌOUS PERSON VOMÌT OR DRÌNK FLUÌDS! Rinse
mouth thoroughly with water and give large amounts of milk or water to people not
unconscious. DO NOT induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.
Skin Promptly wash contaminated skin with soap or mild detergent and water.
Promptly remove clothing if soaked through and wash as above. Continue to rinse
for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.
Eyes Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting the eye lids. Continue to
rinse for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention.
5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing media Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire.
SpeciaI fire fighting procedures Move container from fire area if it can be done without risk. Avoid breathing fire
vapours.
Specific hazards May ignite if heated. Forms explosive mixtures with air.
Protective measures in fire Firefighters exposed to combustion gases/decomposition products should use a
respiratory protective device.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
SpiII cIeanup methods Avoid contact with skin or inhalation of spillage, dust or vapour. Wear necessary
protective equipment. Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into
containers. Shovel into dry containers. Cover and move the containers. Flush
the area with water. Provide ventilation and confine spill. Do not allow runoff to
sewer. Larger spill: Neutralise spilled material with crushed lime stone, soda ash
or lime. Flush area with water.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Usage precautions Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact. Never add water to acid! Container must be
kept tightly closed. Eye wash facilities and emergency shower must be available
when handling this product.
Storage precautions Keep in cool, dry, ventilated storage and closed containers. Store isolated from
oxidising materials.
Storage criteria Corrosive storage.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
