In many countries though, the penalty for this offense is much greater. Here are but a few examples with the worst listed first. In Israel, driving under the influence of alcohol lands a person in jail for two years; that's mandatory. Malasia sends convicted male offenders to jail along with their wives! France suspends your license for three years and $1,000.00 dollar fines ready for those who are convicted. Italy suspends the license for first time offenders for one year and jails you for three months. If you do again within five years then you will never drive there again legally. Russia bans first time offenders from driving for one year. Do it again and it's for life. Turkey arrests drunken drivers and then escorts them outside of town. Some other factors may include gender, age, weight, hydration and whether a person has tolerance for it. The surest way to not be caught for drinking and driving is not to drink at all. It has been estimated that more citizens of the U.S. have died from the abuse of alcohol than through all of the wars combined. Over 1,000,000 people will be arrested nationwide for drinking and driving annually. Anywhere from 75,000 to 100,000 Americans die from alcohol abuse each and every year. One of the leading causes of death among teens is

alcohol. Over 8,000 people die in alcohol related car crashes yearly in the U.S. 14 million, or one in 13 adults in the U.S. suffer from alcoholism at any given time. 25% of urban hospital beds are taken up by severe damage from the use of alcohol. Those enormous figures are for only one country! Nobody should drink alcoholic drinks as they can easily become addictive. What more proof should you need?
