"Serena, you sure your're going?" my father asked for the thousandth time. "Yes, Dad.

I want to" I said with a smile. I stare at him, trying to look patient as he thinks deeply. After a few seconds, he finally spoke. "Well, I just need to get my car keys." "Ooo... kaay" I said slowly trying not to sound disappointed. He just smiled at me and walked out of the living room. I thought about his reply a while ago and sighed. Why does he have to make a lame excuse? Why not tell me directly that he needs more time to think. And why of all excuses, he used the car keys as excuse? These thoughts revolved in my mind while my father was still "getting the car keys". I heard the door clicked so I looked up and saw my father grinning at me. I gaze at him when it suddenly hit me! I gasped. My eyes widened in realization as to what my father really meant. "AAaahh!" I shouted while running to my father and hug him with all my might. "Thank you, thank you so much Dad!" "Well, that took you so long" he laughed. "I had a lot in my mind" I smiled pulling away from the embrace He raised his eyebrow. " I see" he said slowly."If you have a lot in your mind, how could you concentrate in this school without me reminding you?" Uh.oh. This does not look good. My father gives a look when he starts to doubt or suspect something that he decides or believes. Right now, he is giving me the look. Panic shot through me as I thought that his decision might change. With nothing in my mind but the idea of not letting my father change his decision, I did what I hated the most. I lowered my pride and started to talk but due to my panic, I prattled. Which, by the way, made it worse. "Don't worry, I'll br good there. I will stay in focus. You don't have to worry. Promise. I'll arrange my thoughts base on its priority. Honest" I swore while making a cross in my heart. My father snickered. He must have found it amusing seeing his daughter making a fool of herself. Since, this is one of the rare moments where I would lay my pride down and beg. I would have love to be angry with my father right now. But, I needed something from him so I'll just swallow this range flowing inside me which takes a lot of willpower, you know. I looked at him with hopeful eyes. He look at me, amusement in his eyes, still holding his laughter. Seconds pass by, when he couldn't take it anymore ...He bursed out laughing in the living room, his voice echoing. The maids must have heard because they were peeking in the doors and windows. While all this happen, I just stood there, crossing my arms on my chest and glared at my father. "Hahaha, oka--haha--y, o-hahha-kay hahah" he said between his laughs while rubbing my head. Ugh! Why does my father have to be childish sometimes? When he was already calm, he turned to face me. "Well, that was priceless" he grinned.

"Really, Dad?" I said sarcastically raising my eyebrow. "Don't worry. It wasn't wasted" he said. "I guess we should get going, if we don't want to be late"

Hearing those words turned my pout into a smile. I went upstairs and packed some few clothes for the trip was quite lengthy. I quicky went down and saw on the window, my father already inside the car waiting for me. My heart beated quickly as excitement filled within me. I ran to the doors, bidding the passing maids farewell. I got inside the car and off we went to my future school, Ox University
