Day #2 – Virginia Newspaper Cites Incumbent Rob Wittman’s Ducking of Debates
UVA Political Analyst Calls Move “Wrong and Outrageous” Fredericksburg, VA- September 28, 2010 – Recently, Krystal Ball Democratic challenger in the first district of Virginia, proposed debating in all 23 localities over the last 23 days of the campaign. This challenge came after months of incumbent Rob Wittman dodging and ducking numerous debates throughout the district. The Richmond Times Dispatch cited Wittman’s aversion to debating in an article published this morning. Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia commented in the article, "I think it's wrong and outrageous,” he went on to say, "There are spontaneous moments in debates that are very revealing -- so people really do learn something about the character of the candidates." Ball remarked, “This is the second day of Mr. Wittman ignoring the people of the First District of Virginia’s right to a comprehensive, public debate. It is time for him to answer for his votes against veterans, seniors, and the regulation of big banks.” Mrs. Ball continued, “Mr. Wittman’s entitlement is astonishing.” Mrs. Ball, has repeatedly proposed numerous debates to Mr. Wittman “any time, any place.” Mr. Wittman’s campaign has either failed to respond, or cancel at the 11th hour. A lifelong Virginian who was raised in King George County, Krystal Ball is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She is a small business owner and a Certified Public Accountant. ### Krystal Ball for Congress, 105 William St, Fredericksburg VA 22401 www.KrystalBallforCongress.com
