For simplicity sake, I used a combination of 3 athletic contests as a guide to determine which 15 events to use - The Rexona Australia's Greatest Athlete, The Superstars competition and the decathlon. Here are the 15 events and a brief description of each: DAY 1 American football combine (vertical jump, three cone drill and bench press for reps contest – athlete who wins 2 of 3 events is winner); vertical jump and cone drill are also contested at Aussie Rules (football) draft camp One-on-one tennis game to 6 points (if tie, tiebreaker system used in most majors is used) 100 meter swimming event (using the stroke(s) of your choice) DAY 2 Cricket hitting competition (like the Rexona version which hitters are awarded points for distance of their hits) Weightlifting/power-lifting contest combining clean & jerk and dead lift 10km (6.2 miles) cycling race on an open road – fastest time wins DAY 3 One-on-one basketball game to 21 points (game is officiated with fouls, free throws and 3 point baskets) Strongman/Athletics event (farmer‟s walk and shot put (3 throws) events with combined point totals) Baseball catch and throw – point scored on balls caught and accuracy/speed of throws to different targets. DAY 4 Athletics running competition (100m sprint/1500m run with combined point totals using the decathlon scoring tables) One-on-one rugby try (like the Rexona version, each athlete takes 3 turns running and 3 turns defending) – the athlete with the higher net margin of distance is the winner Gym test totaling pushups, pull-ups, parallel bar dips and squat thrusts over a 1 minute time frame for each event with the winner determined by a points scoring system (many of these events were contested in UK/European Superstars) DAY 5 One 5 minute round of MMA (with headgear) – can use boxing, wrestling, martial arts, judo, etc. (winner determined by KO, TKO, submission or judge's decision) Soccer/football goalie kick competition (kicking 5 and defending 5; scoring similar to rugby competition) FINAL EVENT – Obstacle Course (similar to Superstars version) with wall, hurdles, water jump, sand pit, tires, blocking sled and final sprint. Total time wins with time penalties subtracting for infractions.
