GroundingorPolarization
Ifthisproductisequippedwithapolarizedalternatingcurrentlineplug(aplughavingonebladewiderthantheother),itwillfitintothe
outletonlyoneway.Thisisasafetyfeature.Ifyouareunabletoinserttheplugfullyintotheoutlet,tryreversingtheplug.Iftheplug

OutdoorAntennaGroundingIfanoutsideantennaorcablesystemis
connectedtotheproduct,besuretheantennaorcablesystemisgroundedso
astoprovidesomeprotectionagainstvoltagesurgesandbuiltupstatic
charges.
Article810oftheNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA70,providesinformation
withregardtopropergroundingofthemastandsupportingstructure,
groundingoftheleadinwiretoanantennadischargeunit,sizeofgrounding
conductors,locationofantennadischargeunit,connectiontogrounding
electrodes,andrequirementsforthegroundingelectrode.

LightningForaddedprotectionforthisproductduringalightningstorm,orwhenitisleftunattendedandunusedforlongperiodsoftime,
unplugitfromthewalloutletanddisconnecttheantennaorcablesystem.Thiswillpreventdamagetotheproductduetolightningandpower
linesurges.
PowerLinesAnoutsideantennasystemshouldnotbelocatedinthevicinityofoverheadpowerlinesorotherelectriclightorpowercircuits,or
whereitcanfallintosuchpowerlinesorcircuits.Wheninstallinganoutsideantennasystem,extremecareshouldbetakentokeepfromtouching
suchpowerlinesorcircuitsascontactwiththemmightbefatal.
OverloadingDonotoverloadwalloutlets,extensioncords,orintegralconveniencereceptaclesasthiscanresultinariskoffireorelectricshock.
ObjectandLiquidEntryNeverpushobjectsofanykindintothisproductthroughopeningsastheymaytouchdangerousvoltagepointsorshort
outpartsthatcouldresultinafireorelectricshock.Neverspillliquidofanykindontheproduct.

Usenormalglasscleanerandasoftclothtowipedowntheoutsidecasing.
Useacleanerspeciallydesignedforelectronicstosprayinandaroundtheknobsandswitch.Thiswillreducesmallparticlebuiltupthat

CROSSFADERREPLACEMENT
ThecrossfaderisHotSwapable,whichmeansitmaybereplacedatanytime,evenwhenpowerisapplied.ReplacewithAmericanAudio
VMS4crossfader(part#ZFF8).IfyouwishtoupgradetoanInnofader,pleaseordertheInnofadermodelwhichcomeswiththeVMS4plade
covertoprotecttheInnofaderfromdamageduringhandlingoftheVMS4.IfyouupgradetotheInnofader,pleasemakesurethepowerisoff
beforeupgradingtolimitthechanceofdamagetotheInnofaderand/orVMS4duringinstallation.Replacingwithanyothermodelfadermay
seriouslydamageyourmixer.
ReplacingtheCrossfader:
Disconnectthemixersmainpowersupply.
UsingaPhillipsscrewdriver,unscrewthetwooutsidescrewsoneachsidethat
holdthecrossfaderassemblyinplace.
Gentlyremovethecrossfaderassemblyfromitsseatedposition.Youmayneed
towigglethecrossfaderslightlytoremoveit.
Afterremovingthecrossfaderassembly,disconnecttheribboncablethat
attachesthecrossfadertothemainboard.Graspthecrossfaderbyitsbaseand
pulltheribboncablebyitsconnectornottheactualcables.Theconnectoris
designedtoonlyfitoneway,sodontworryabouttheconnectorsorientation.
Unscrewthetwoinnerscrewsthatconnectthecrossfadertothecrossfader
plate.
Connectthenewcrossfadertotheribboncableandreplaceinreverseorder.
