Version: 20 Validity:
Valid Since 24.07.2003
Table control, Customizing, user variants, display variants, system variants, SAPLSTCX, TCVIEW
Reason and Prerequisites
Configuration of the table control
You can set the table view/control for each user. You can configure the width and position of a column (with "drag and drop" on the table control).
(a) User-specific display variants
You can store the present display as a variant (function Save as...'). As of Basis Release 4.6B press the 'Create' button. The variants you created can then be used both as "Standard setting" (effective as of the next call of the transaction) and as "Current setting" (only valid once in the present session). If no user variants are set, then the 'Basic setting' is effective. With the function 'Save' (up to Basis Release 4.5B) or the 'Copy' (as of Basis Release 4.6) button, the present display of the table control is stored as a variant and as the current setting as well as - if required as a standard setting. You activate subsequent conversions of current or standard setting by choosing a variant and executing the functions 'Set active' or 'Set
standard'. Table presentations stored as a variant are only effective for the respective user. There are no authorization checks for this functions. (b) System variants (administrator function)
From the configuration of the present table controls, columns can be hidden in addition: Checkbox 'invisible' (at least one column must remain visible; see Note 110785!). In addition the technical name of the respective field in the table control, its current length and position are specified. When you press the key 'Activate', a system variant is generated from the current configuration, that is, all users (in the current client!) see this configuration of the table control. A system variant is deleted with 'Delete', 'Close' without activating beforehand leaves the settings unchanged. The call of this function is linked to the authorization object 'S_ADMIN_FCD' (value 'TCTR').
