GENERAL INFORMATION

[1] This course is an introduction to the
.,SCOPE, METHODOLOGY, AND GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

rules governing the prosecution, trial and adjudication of criminal cases; included in the scope of the course are procedures on arrest searches and seizures, detentions, custodial investigations, preliminar y investigation, indictment, trial and appeal. The course covers Rules 110 - 127 of the .2000 Rules ' of Cm-irt. At the end of the course, students are expected to know not only what these rules are all about but also, more importantly, how they work or do not work, and how they {{rule to dispensin g justice in the country. [2] Classes will be conducted using a mix of methodologies: seminar, lecture, practical and participant observation and case method. [3] The --ourse begins with an introductory lecture and ends with an inte g ration lectai re. [41 All cases assigned must be read in the original. [5] Rec i tat i on is graded every session. A student who is absent and is called gets a 5.0 for that session. [6] Practical exercises L-1 drafting selected p leadings and legal documents will be considered part of recitation.
