stat for variable bath sizes
Unique in the world. The Variostat can control the
temperature in any bath size from -30°C to 150°C.
The single-minded construction allows the user the
greatest flexibility. The smooth, controllable “vpc”
pressure and suction pump, allows the circulation
in any bath size to be optimally controlled. Also, the
pump pressure to an external application can be pre-
cisely set and controlled, from the user-menu, using
an optional pressure.

Insulated baths made of stainless steel in three stan-

dard or custom dimensions. Fitted with a drain.

Flow-through Chillers
The “Flow-through Chillers” are designed for simple, low demand cooling applica-
tions. They are commonly used in combination with the CC202C or CC205B series
to remove heat in order to cool a process back to room temperature.

UNISTATS
Scale-Up
The Unistats cover a temperature of
-120°C to 400°C. They range in cooling
powers from 0,7 to 130 kW and heating
powers from 1,5 kW to 80 kW. A low in-
ternal volume means that this energy is
transmitted to the process (watts/litre
DIN12876). Uniformity in technology
and control throughout the range gives
each scale of application familiarity
unique to the Unistats. They are the sys-
tem of choice for kilo labs, process re-
search, mini-plants and production.
UNISTATS Plug & Play

Why the name „Tango

Technology“?
To perform the Tango dance requires
skilled partners to glide in rhythm and
unity from a tightly held and controlled
posture to another in a rapid and effort-
less movement.

The name “Tango” was adopted to re-

flect the way in which the Unistats con-
trol the temperature of a process…

…swift change, tight control, minimum

effort.

Safety First
All the Unistats are fitted with an inde-
pendent over-temperature protection
device and a circulating fluid monitor-
ing device. When these devices are acti-
vated the Unistats give a visual and au-
dible warning and shut down to stand-by
mode.

Unistats are manufactured, tested and

classified to the requirements dictated
by the strict DIN 12876.

High Temperature Cooling

HT cooling means that active cooling
for the process at temperatures up to
400°C is available. This is possible only
because of another unique Unistat fea-
ture, “HT cooling”. “HT” cooling and
mechanical refrigeration work together
to provide the widest working tempera-
ture range in a single unit. The extreme
of this is the “Unistat 420wHT” with a
temperature range that spans 420°K
from -120…300°C.

Differentiating Benefits

Facts UNISTATS
Unistats … the Concept
… passive components
and the laws of physics…
The Unistat range was first introduced
over 14-years ago. It was and remains
unique in the level of control it gives
to the user and the way in which such
massive cooling and heating powers are
not just generated, but also transferred
to your process.

The Unistat range is designed to give the

operator extremely tight control over the
temperature of a process regardless of
the varying thermal loads generated by
chemical reactions.

The low internal volume ensures that the

cooling and heating power generated by
the machine controls the temperature of
the process … not a large reservoir of
fluid. (Watts/Litre DIN 12876). This al-
lows rapid changes in temperature and
tight control over the flow of thermal
energy.

The hydraulically sealed fluid system

means no oil vapours or oil cracking at
high temperatures and no moisture ab-
sorption at low temperatures. You can
expect far longer life times and extended
temperature ranges from your expen-
sive thermal fluid with a Unistat.

However, the true engineering triumph

is in the simplicity of the design. In a
standard Unistat … from the smallest
to the largest … there is only one elec-
tro-mechanical valve. The rest is simply
physics and the laws of physics do not
break.

via the adapter cable. These units in-
corporate the full range of the vapour

High Technology „CoolNet“

All Unistat refrigeration machines use the
stepper motor control expansion valve
„CoolNet“, manufactured by Huber. This
ensures that optimal performance from the
evaporator is achieved, and the maximum
possible power is obtained. Without the
CoolNet the Unistats could not achieve such
dynamic, performance, control stability and
operational safety.

New! Ex Zone Solutions
There are two solutions for Ex Zone
thermoregulation applications. The first
is to work with a standard unit located
in a safe area and an Ex Rated remote
control panel located in the hazardous
zone. The second solution is to locate
a fully Ex Rated unit (pressure encap-
sulation, see table below) within the
hazardous zone. Further information is
available on request.

Unistat Minus
The „Unistat Minus“ models had been specially developed for work at
low temperatures. These low cost alternatives have powerful refrige-
ration and „Tango“ technology with the user friendly controller CC3.
They are available either in flat design (FB) or in a tower casing. Typical
applications are pour point apparatus, low temperature calorimetry,
combination chemistry or crystallisations.

mics, of the unique Unistat Tango unit.
The term Unichiller indicates that it is uni-
versally suitable for heat dissipation.
Air-cooled refrigeration units which op-
erate under the workbench or in simi-
larly confined areas usually cause heat
to accumulate. Integrated Unichillers are
both air- and water-cooled. The waste
heat can therefore be removed either
using air or cooling water, as desired.

From a customer in New Zealand „…I’ve had

a regular trickle of inquisitive people into the
lab to view the Rotacool. I ran it with DCM and
our house vacuum. Using 200 ml in the flask,
I normally recover less than 50 ml. With the
Rotacool down at -10 I got 175 ml and with it
starting off at -20 I got 195 ml back so it does a
superb job of saving our vacuum system“.
