IS SUPER 50 Fund Raising Program


We know that everyone us is spending our time in different way to raise fund for our project. Lot of our projects are stuck because of fund factor. We know that every month we struggling and putting our time and effort to raise fund for monthly salary for Teachers Deployment. In 2009-10, We planned for 20 lakhs, but we did project for 15 lakhs. In 2010-11, We should need 20 lakhs. Nothing less than this. So what is [50 50 50] Program 50 Fund raisers will spend 50 Days to raise 50% of year Budget So that remaining 315 days we can do our project work happily

Hi Friends This year we are going to start few new ambitious programs. IS 5, IS Packaged Learning (ISPL), IS Science Lab(ISSL), IS Sports Kit(ISSK) to name few in the list. With these initiatives we would be adding more VALUE to all the work we are doing to IMPROVE & ELEVATE EDUCATION in rural India. These initiatives will also bring up more volunteers together to build up a strong volunteers network. To conduct Week end class in our IS Learning Centers and Homes To organise build Career Guidance Program in Karnataka. To adopt govt Schools in Krishna & Guntur districts in AP To review the various Learning Centers and other activities.

Events/Activities/Visit to Schools & Homes


[IS Karnataka] Date: 10 March 2010, Saturday Members: Nagaraj,Vinod , Sandip & Udayakumar Main Purpose of Our visit to collect the requirements of the Govt schools in these remote underdeveloped villages in the kolar district. Bundikote: First we visited Bundikote Govt School. Primary , High school and PUC are sharing same building premises. New Building is coming up. In this PU College only Arts stream is available for students completed 10th STD. To pursue Science 0r Commerce Stream students have to travel to Kolar, 40 Km away. For PUC , There is request from Principal for Standard Reference books for arts Stream. In High School there are about 800 Students. Students from nearby 12 villages are studying in Govt Primary School here. Villages are backward and inhabitated by agricultural Labourers and Coolie. We will be providing notebooks to primary and High schools. In Gullahalli High School there is a request to pay regular and exam for some of the High school students. In Dinnur Higher Primary School Headmaster requested us to provide sports materials. We will provide notebooks and stationaries during the start of next academic year.

We have distributed free chappals for students of Govt Panchayat Union Primary Schools of Sankaranmalaippatti , Poovampadi , & Mayanoor. A member from Young Helping Minds, Ms.Jaya participated in the event. It was very great for rural school children who have been struggling without proper footwear in this summer. Some of them have got a footwear for the first time in their life.

[IS Tamil Nadu]

Our Member Mr.R.S Ramasamy visited the Panchayath Union Primary School, Ramayapuri. This school is located Ramaiyapuri which is 7 Km from ThuvaranKurichi. Most of the villagers Who are agricultural Labourers didnt have their formal education. These villages don't have the basic facilities such as bus, hospitals, and medical facilities. This school has class from 1 to 5 STD with total strength of 50. Their requirement is note books and writing stationeries.

Educational Support for 22 Manipur Students Year 2010:


One of our first attempts in the state of Manipur has been Chruchandranpur in Manipur. We started off supporting schooling for 22 poor students(80% of them are Girls) last years from Manipur. Our project coorodinator Mr.Haokip Obed did a very thorough job in identifying poorest of them for us to support them. All of these children are outmost deserving one's and India Sudar will continue to support these kids for year 2010 also. Progress has been good in last 6 months. We will continue to monitor closely the project through our coordinators in Manipur.

Teachers Deployment at Shibshankar Sishu Niketan Amrasabai, Sunderban West Bengal

This is our second initiative in West Bengal. (First one was at Amlasole). Our Member R.Radhakrishnan met Mr B. R Mishra, AmraSabai Community President for the school Shibshankar Sishu Niketan, Sunderban on 21st March at his residence. He discussed about their future planning and other requirements. Initially we were planning to support only two teachers, but now as per their latest request we will be supporting the third teacher too. Children belonging to poor and unprivileged sections of community are taught on the primary school upto Class 4. They are also sent their request for educational materials for the kids, please find the attached list of books and their requirements.

Our Volunteers sold T-shirts and applied mehandi to raise funds. They also brought awareness about India Sudar to the crowd by giving them free book marks, brochures and so on. Special thanks to Mrs Lalitha Asokan (lecturer at CMR Institute of Technology) who helped us to get a stall at the fest. Sincere thanks to Ravikumar Kalaimani who helped with all the requirements and to Inchara and Ridhi who volunteered to apply mehandi.

Meeting with MYRADA, NGO on Rural Developmemt Programmes:

MYRADA is a Non Governmental Organisation managing rural development programmes in 3 States of South India and providing on-going support including deputations of staff to programmes in 6 other States. We briefed MYRADA representatives about this years IS new projects and was very much impressed and said that he would support all the initiatives from Myradas side. We briefed about them IS Learning Packages, IS Science LabS, IS 5 IS Learning Centers, IS Sports Kit, IS Career guidance. Basically we need to build the strong career guidance program. While talking we expressed our willingness to create awareness in most of the North Karnataka region and for the same Mr.Kiran introduced us to Mr. Cyril W Vas who is responsible for the Bellary district from Myrada. Mr.Cyril said that we need to concentrate more in Ankola, Bellary & Bidar. We are planning to visit these places during 1st week of June as now school holidays started. We assured them we will come up with the plan to execute more projects which will cover more and more areas.

Computer Classes & Spoken English Class for Remand Childrens Home, Shivaji Nagar, Pune:
Our Member Mr. Ganapathy Subramaniam is conducting week end classes for inmates of Remand Childrens Home in Pune. Children are age group from 12 -16 The local community in Laxmi Nagar, Sahakar nagar , close to where He is staying have arranged a hall above Ganesh Mandir for the classes The timings for Spoken English Class are 6.30 to 8.30 evening on saturday and Sunday. Students strength is increasing in each class . As advised by the Care taker of this home, He identified 1st batch of 10 children from 6th standard for Computer classes. The classes are between 3 and 5 PM in the evening on Saturday and Sunday. One Sunday He conducted practical exam and the topper who answered all questions was given a wrist watch .The second prize was a tennis ball.
