This position serves as the State National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) Coordinator and is the liaison between the NM Public Education Department (PED) and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), which administers the NAEP. Duties Include Coordinates the use of NAEP results for policy and program planning. Analyzes and reports NAEP data. Promotes understanding about NAEP. Disseminates and communicates NAEP results to stakeholders. Coordinates the analysis and interpretation of NAEP data and the preparation of special state-level reports to inform policy decisions. Provides technical assistance to the state and local education agencies and other target audiences on how to use NAEP data. Educational requirements

A Master's Degree in Education, Research and/or Statistics is required for this position. Experience Six (6) years recent teaching experience in the core content areas of Mathematics, English or Science and experience in utilizing large scale assessment data in one of these core content areas to inform instruction and curriculum. (The timeframe for' recent experience' must be within the last 12 months) Supplemental Skills/Abilities

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a current teaching license issued by the NM Public Education Department. Experience in statistical software applications such as; Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS), Statistical Application Software (SAS), and Minitab is required for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License, with successful completion of Defensive Driving Course within forty-five (45) days of employment. In-state/out-of-state travel (where overnight stays may be possible) is required.
