What is bloodborne pathogens training?

Bloodborne pathogens training program is training under a law by the US government. The law sets a standard called Bloodborne pathogens Standard. This standard is given by the government agency called OSHA (Occupational Training and Health Administration). According to the law, proper training must be administered to the workers working in one of the following occupations. Research lab workers Hospital staff (both management and clinical) Clinics ( doctors, nurses and management)

Personnel in the Veterinaries House keepers in labs and clinics Knife and gadget industry workers

Why is this training necessary? The training is super important as the workers should know what they are getting into. They should also have proper information regarding the nature and preventive measures against the pathogens. The blood borne pathogens are responsible for over 200 deaths and 9000 infections per year in the workers to certain occupations in the United States (according to research by OSHA). Such a number of death and affected personnel provoked the authorities to take strict action. This training and its annual renewal is now mandatory for personnel in all blood related professions.
